    I believe YOU are the best interpreter to teach "signing" of all instructors available to learn from.
    Your method is perfect for someone like myself learning from ground zero.
    Thank you for your teaching manner.

    Hi! Im learning ASL and love your channel! Im still making my way through your videos, but am having a challenge with sentence structure. Do you have videos on that, or suggestions on books or videos or anything else that will help to practice sentence structure when translating from English? I appreciate you!

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hi and thanks for watching! As with any language I would suggest taking a class (maybe at your local college) if possible. I also recommend learning from a native signer if you have the option. I created my page as a resource for people learning ASL with the idea of having an online dictionary. The combination of "in-person" learning and using online resources can benefit you.

      ASL Meredith has also got some great videos on CZcams . I love her fingerspelling Friday challenges. I do believe that she has some videos on sentence structure in ASL.😊

      @@user-ku4gp2xd5y Yes definitely. There are some great resources online. Lifeprint and ASL Meredith are both top notch.

      @@ASLLOVE OMG. I used to watch Learn How to Sign when I wanted to learn about ASL structure. That brings back so many memories.
      I went to the library and got 3 books:
      Lou Gant's "Conversational Sign Language"
      The 2014 update.
      The ASL Dictionary 3rd edition ( you recommended it).
      I wish you would use a camera and write your own book. The 3rd edition book was amazing, but I think you could do better with a KDP book deal. You could make some $$$.

    You're the best and you've helped me so much, but I am a little confused. Has the sign for niece and nephew changed? My ASL teacher teaches it differently but maybe its a preference thing.

      @@user-mk1bq8fq4i Thank you so much for the kind words. 😊 I’m curious, can you explain how your teacher signs it? Some people keep their fingers extended straight. Is it like that?

    I have a question, if that's ok. Are there different nicknames for grandmother and grandfather? Such as MeMaw, Mom Mom, Nana, and such. Or in the case of multiple grandparents, would you just sign grandmother followed by the name, for example, Grandmother Kim, Grandmother Kelly, Grandmother Pat. I understand if this isn't the correct place to ask questions.

    • @ASLLOVE
      @ASLLOVE  Před 22 dny +1

      @@kellylostaglia40 Hi and thanks for watching. That’s a great question. Any nickname or name sign would be established within the family. I am not aware of any specific signs for Nan, Mom Mom, etc. You are correct in assuming that you would sign either Grandmom or Grandpa and then spell the name after the sign. 👍🏼

      @@ASLLOVE thanks so much for your answer! My grandson, still a toddler, is non verbal and learning ASL. So we are learning too. He has 4 grandmothers and his mom calls me Nana Kel. But the Grandmother sign and my name works just fine by me!
