Albums That Were WORTH THE WAIT! (Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole)

- Artists have been making us wait years and years for new music lately, but these are some moments where the 3, 4, or 5 year wait was worth it, and actually lived up to the hype!

I hate that people hate Mr Morale because it’s not their average hype album
?
@@Call_Me_Riowhat I said ! What the heck is this guy talkin bout.
I get whatchu saying. People don't like the album cuz the music isn't hype or what not. But you should've restated that
@@cthreye I’ll edit it
no kendrick album is that
Damn he really was going through something for 1855 days

Hopefully ASAP's album is worth the hype
When is it out ?

Hyped for that one
“I’ve been goin through something for 1,855 days, be afraid”
The off season was the album that first got me into J. Cole. I only had some of his biggest hits on my playlists, but the summer in 2021 i decided to listen to more of j cole and i played the off season. I immediately fell in love with the album and I remember listening to it on my whole vacation, and exploring more of his music aswell. Great album that doesn't get talked about enough i feel like.
Yeah i belive its j cole's best work
Same my first Cole album was off season
@@megafox2181the off season is so good that i bought the vinil lol

Go listen to his mixtapes they are fire 🔥

Heroes and Villains was definitely worth it
Metro boomin really made it boom

Tap in if u Praying for the next j.cole and ye album
I could've waited 6 years for After Hours and I still think it would've lived up to the hype (It's my G.O.A.T. album tbf)
Perfect timing too. The themes of isolation and reflection worked really well given the fact that the album came out right around the start of all the lockdowns. The music videos and promotional material also gave off a really cool aesthetic.
Probably gonna be in the top 5 albums of the 2020s imo
Dawn FM better but y'all worried to admit it (pretty sure Able himself would agree with me on this)
@@NXRCISSISTYou’re correct Dawn FM was beautiful
Me personaly ım not a weeknd fan bc ı have not listened to his songs but from what ı heard of some fetures and some songs of him ı cant say ı like his style of music and the way he sings but he is a very talented artist
MM&TBS helped me through a lot of situations. We have to give Kendrick his flowers cuz no one in hip hop does it like he does. He manages to always change his aesthetic and come through with a new soundscape. He’s unreal for this generation of hip hop.
Yeah. Even when its in the bottom of his catalog its amazing and have alot of reply value
@@megafox2181its top 3
Kendrick is easy the most introspective and empathetic artist I've ever come across. that album also helped me understand a few things I was struggling with
that album helped me go through a big loss and other mental health transformation in my life. Dude talked about grief, daddy issues, relationship issues, letting down others, blaming yourself, and generational trauma in one compact album and found peace at the end. everyone can find something in there if they are or ever have gone through something hard
Same I was listening to mm&tbs when I was in the hospital alot daily. Just think about what to do next in life and what happened for me to get to the point I was at
Jid should also be there. He made the best album of last year and possibly of the decate
That album is nothing special
@@GoOgizZa all love but please, never share again any music opinion
I love the album but no way, super heroes and villains is the first album that tops it that year that comes to mind and of the decade??? That’s crazy
Yall overhype Jid
What is a decate. If you me decade no bro that's 10 years but his album was really good
At least with After Hours we got My Dear Melancholy between that and starboy which was great
i agree, however if we are bein honest w ourselves, i dont even think both of them combined could ever compare to after hours. that album will go down in history as a classic for the rest of time (not saying this to try to hate on your opinion or say its wrong im just biased and really love his work on there 😂😅)
@@xenoflow9627 I agree I think starboy is the weakest weeknd album I still think it’s a great album but I think people really exaggerate how good it is. Lot of filler tracks you can tell he didn’t work that hard on. I think people remember the singles on it more than the album itself
Gotta agree with everything here ngl
After Hours and MDM are his 2 weakest albums but no one’s ready for that conversation yet…
@@robbielit1476 well mdm I can understand coz it’s an EP even though it’s very consistent but the after hours take is wild id like you to explain that lol because I think it’s easily in the discussion for his best album. Imo his worst is starboy I personally feel people just have a super positive impression of the singles (which are great) on that album and not a lot of the deeper cuts which are abit generic and underwritten which is unlike other Weeknd albums. I also think what he was trying to do was fully realised on Dawn FM. But mid for Abel is still good so yeah
This is my Ranking
House of balloons
Echoes Of Silence
Kiss Land
Dawn Fm
After Hours
Beauty Behind The Madness
My Dear Melancholy
Thursday
Starboy
All of these albums are amazing!
Bro seriously utopia 😂
Yes utopia
Utopia is his best album
The Off Season isn't spoken about enough 🔥🔥🔥
"Ive been going through something"
- United in Grief, K-dot
Sayin Utopia lived up to the hype is crazy
It was hella mid with 6-7 crazy good songs, out of 19. I am sorry but it was def overhyped
As a non tick tock and non rage beat fan to me it was definitely
It reminded me of days before rodeo in 2014
No hype just class production I love it
@@sp4rklszif u think only 7 songs on that album is good ion know what to tell u. The whole track list is near perfect
Utopia was fire
The Weeknd is so mf GOOD bruh MOTHAFUCK

Metro boomin had savage mode 2 in 2020
he specified Solo album tho
These are all perfect albums with absolutely no flaws
Dont even get me started on Carter V
they're literally my favourite albums atm
Ngl, I didn't feel Utopia like that. Maybe I'd appreciate it on further listens
Kendrick lamar: uhh hi me : hello 👋
Utopia, Heros and villains and Mr morale and the big steppers are pure perfection
I love kdot album and jcoles was cool
Mr morale had legendary songs
we only waited so long for utopia bc of the astroworld concert
After Hours was the pinnacle of quarantine
You gotta make one for albums that didn't live up to the hype
Mr morale blew
I never knew people were waiting for a metro booming album for years
I feel like people sleep on dawn fm too much but y’all can like what yall like
Agreed. It didn’t get enough attention outside of the weeknd fans for the most part which makes me kinda sad. It’s a very nice listen, and while it’s not a 10/10 it’s still got a good range of tracks
Hopefully juice wrld's and and xxx's albums get the hype they deserve🙏
💀
Mm&tbs is great and idc what anyone says
Am I the only one who thinks Off-season is Coles best album
It’s not bad, def not his best in my opinion
For me Born Sinner, 2014, 4YE and the Off-season are all interchangeable as the best cole album. I literally can’t pick one I think is the best.
I agree it’s gotta be off season
I used to think this, and it is really good. But imo 2014 and born sinner are better
Agree
Yessir
Utopia didn’t live up to the hype it crushed it
Well, i disagree. Why you think that?
I believe Travis had his best rapping performance on this album and it’s just a whole vibe
@@probablywillchangelater Ohhh. You said "crushed" and i thought it was a bad thing. My bad, foreign english
Utopia was over hyped
the only people who hate on mr morale are hype beasts who were expecting another DAMN. even though it’s not even his best album

It’s between starboy and after hours which was almost 4 years apart

After Hours was beyond worth the wait. Such a cohesive and creative body of work, and it was released when the world was at a time of need. It still stands as my favorite album of the decade so far.
And it has a godly album rollout

Damn phew pol
Somedays, I'm gonna want to listen to a album like MM&TBS and honestly out of all the conscious rappers or storytelling rappers that don't talk about selling drugs, gangbanging, and bragging about fucking chicks, fame, and riches all the time..I'm going to go listen to kendrick mostly or nas. I bump carti, dababy, uzi, drake, travis, youngboy, meek, dolph, keef, nocap, and rylo has my favorite album of the year so far but to listen to that shit only or all the time it can and does get old but when I need a break from that, I go straight to kendrick or nas. MM&TBS is a damn near perfect album and it hits different when you take a break from the gang shit, drug shit, thot shit, haters shit, drip shit etc..savior, united in grief, mother I sober, count me out, n95, we cry together all that shit is undeniably fire. People think rap is only supposed to sound a few ways but then there would be no MM&TBS and that's fucked up. Hip hop without albums like that is just not in a good state. I thank god for artist like kendrick cuz hip hop needs that balance. Yall say its trash or mid but how? when I go and listen, it be fire for real.

The man that made two of the best hip hop records ever takes five years off and drops an album sub-par and unimpressive and his fans will still try and throw shade at anyone that criticises it 😅
Who you talking about
Cole and Kendrick's were amazing fasho but they definitely feel like they should've dropped a max of 2 yrs after their previous album
I mean sooner the better for these guys but at the same time nothing was wrong with the time they released, nothing but high anticipation from both and they both delivered
Doja cat next
off season?
How many days did we wait for views tho? Anyone got the math?
Utopia was cheeks lmfao i was naive to think travis would make another astroworld/rodeo
People seemed hella torn between hatin Utopia and lovin Utopia, general public was hatin but real Travis fans were praising, mark my words, Utopia gonna age like fine wine
pink tape not on the list?
Was kinda mediocre
Bro imo the off season is the best and has the most replay value of any album in the 2020’s decade so far
I would say The Forever Story by JID
Forever story, utopia, circles, and the off season for sure have the most replay value.
2020 After Hours. 2021 An evening with Silk Sonic. 2022 The Forever Story. 2023 so far Utopia.
@@CoolIguess5Fr or 2022 superheroes and villains or dawn fm. It was such a great year imo

Definitely not After Hours lol
not utopia tbh

Metro hasn't dropped a solo album lmfao. If every song has 2 features that's not "your album." A producer album like Donuts or Blue Note is a solo album.
Mr Morale had me snoozin lol that shit got boring about half way thru. It does have some dope tracks tho I will admit
