CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Takeda (Yoshio Harada) makes sure Paul (Christopher Lambert) knows who the real samurai is.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
In this international action thriller, Paul Racine (Christopher Lambert) is an American salesman with a computer firm who is in Japan on business. While spending an evening in a bar, he meets Kirina (Joan Chen), a beautiful but mysterious woman. Paul buys Kirina a drink, one thing leads to another, and he ends up spending the night with her. However, when Paul returns to her room to retrieve a set of keys he left behind, he discovers that Kirina is being murdered by Kinjo (John Lone), the master of a cult of bloodthirsty ninjas. Kinjo informs Karina that no one has ever seen his face and lived, so when Paul witnesses Kirina's execution and the face Kinjo hides behind his mask, he's a marked man. With the help of Takeda (Yoshio Harada), an experienced ninja fighter, Paul learns how to defend himself against his new adversaries as he plots a final showdown with the deadly Kinjo. The Hunted represented something of a reunion for John Lone and Joan Chen, who previously starred together in The Last Emperor.

The "old man" in this movie is 10th Degree Black Belt Soke Takayuki Kubota. He is the founder of Gosoku Ryu Karate Do. The style of swordsmanship that Lambert uses is called "Gyaku Giri," or "reverse cut." It is also what Zatoichi uses. Soke Kubota developed a sword kata named Gyaku Giri. Although I don't pretend to be good at it, I have studied this kata.
Tak Kubota! Inventer of the kubotan, his modern interpretation of Yawara. I learned pocket stick techniques from his old video tapes and I never realized it was him in this movie. I never saw the practicality of practicing spear hand strikes until I got a yawara in my hand and watched him.
Yoshio Harada is a great actor and one of the best parts of this film. R.I.P. Shogun Harada.
Jamie Pinson Yoko Shimada is gorgeous isn't she?
He had passed away? Oh rip
She was - about 15 years before this movie ;)
Yoko Shimada was so talented and beautiful
I can't belived she is gone... *RIP*
A rare opportunity to see the great Yoko Shimada in an English language production. She was (and still is) one of the most underrated actresses around.
RIP, Yoko Shimada.
Takeda will always be my first samurai character ive set my eyes on. That voice though. You know that is a badass warrior with a badass or manly or tough voice. Second is Samurai Jack.
The new season of Samurai Jack was awesome🤘
The woman in this scene also played Toda Mariko in the miniseries Shogun. Her name is Shimada Yoko.
I am willing to bet who ever wrote The Last Samurai was a fan of this movie
One of the most underrated movies, and actors! Shimada is magnificent in any movie, the true Todo Mariko san from Shogun! And Lambert is beyond praise.
yoshio harada was so good in this. "time does not die, only people." greatest line ever.
Loves this movie. Was deployed in Okinawa in 1995 -1996. Was fortunate to learn Aikido while I was there.
Aikido , ha.
@@covidenslavement8918 aikijitsu. I was lucky one of my old Staff Sergeants vouched for me to join an exclusive group.
@@ignaciomayenthegoldenrule9618 much better and useful in a real situation 👍
R.I.P Yoko Shimada
I truly hate how they have clips for this movie yet no digital purchase...
Yoko Shimada was one hell of a beauty.
Yoshio Harada is the true Samurai
When the Highlander does a cameo😂
This film originally was intended to be the Original Highlander movie's prequel, but they couldn't secure the rights on time so they modified the script to be its own movie. This is why in the film, Christopher Lambert dresses like Connor Macleod with his trench coat. This film would had introduced Female immortals on the Film series, since the Highlander series is an Alternate reality and there the Female immortals were introduced. This film would had been from the Movie Universe and set up to be sometime before the first film.
@@EternalRoman Wow crazy.
@@RandomIndie Ikr, I had been a strong Highlander fan for years, but the last seasons of the series and the horrible series based movies killed my Fandom hard. I decided to stick with the OG films, and some seasons/episodes of the series. I detested the sheer Mary Sue plot of Duncan and his attitude was unlikable many times. In my view, a person that lives for so long has to learn many things along the way, and yet in present times Duncan was not just cavalier, he was wreck less and pedantic. In contrast in the movieverse Connor was still humble and wise, and the series movies completely crapped on this, making him even afraid... Afraid, when he had faced the Kurgan smh.
One last thing is the concept of the Watchers, while good in a way, they also made it too stupid on them meddling in the Game and recording "strength" based on numbers... Anyway, this film would had been great as an OG Highlander prequel, adding more number of Immortals to see more action as we guessed from the old movies when they spoke of the Game.
this dude is the business.
2:39 NANI?
There can be only one
The BEST scene
Left out the part where Racine then punches Takeda in the face, laughs, and says, "Not bad for a Gaijin."
Greatest movie ever!
RIP - Descanse en paz Yoshio Harada
Time does not die only people (love it)
would've been hilarious if Lambert had replied - and animals and plants >.
Turn on the caption, its amazing.
Awesome
How did i jump from one Hunted movie to another?
Both Hunted films are fantastic!
So this is where Highlander Duncan Macleod learned the use of a katana & master kenjutsu.
Ummm no, not Duncan, CONNOR Macleod, the ORIGINAL Highlander. Duncan was Connor's younger cousin and funny enough, This film originally was intended to be the Original Highlander movie's prequel, but they couldn't secure the rights on time so they modified the script to be its own movie.
Yôko Shimada - hermosa verdad?
BEST MAN HARADA MAAŞALLAH
What Masala? Spices?
Watching this from Bharat in May 23......time Stamp
Was this before the train fight
There can be only one!
Isn't that Christopher Lambert from Highlander
There can only be one lol
"There can be only one"*
If you're going to quote something, do it correctly. And skip the "lol" as well.
The Highlander vs Admiral Ryokugyu from One Piece
omg.. swords in this movie are made in China
This is like The Last Samurai but actually good.
This should have been Highlander 2! Original Highlander 2 was abomination!

haha...this white boy is really that crazy...huh!
I do not think that he is crazy. He just knew that Takeda would not kill him. He deduced that Takeda was using him to bait Kinjo into a duel.
He could have killed the highlander 😂
Cho Kosugi Should've Played Takeda's Samurai Character Part, He Would've Killed Kinjo Like He Killed The Assassin's Who Slaughtered His Family In Revenge Of The Ninja
It's these Lessons of Paul that would become the Gospel according to Paul.
I have read and studied this Gospel.
It's how I know so much about Chincs.
Smiley Eye Chincs. Frowning Eye Chincs. Lazy Eye Chincs. Droopy Eye Chincs. Chubby Face Eye Chincs. Wide Eye Chincs.
How do I Know?
The Gospel according to Paul. From the Lessons of Paul.
American Actor-Cringe 😬
Christopher Lambert is a terrible actor
You too.
You're terrible human being of a troll!
