Amazing teardown and great level of detail on the components choice. As a hardware engineer I really appreciate putting up the video!
As a future improvement I would appreciate some words on the magnetics as those are quite important in terms of isolation when it comes down to regulations and certification.
Thank you very much!
Every EE student needs to know about, watch, and learn from this channel! This is awesome.
You need way more subscribers for this level of content! Good stuff
I got the 45w folding model. It is so compact, basically just a bit larger than the small cube apple chargers, except it can deliver enough power for a computer!
Nice teardown, just got my today and man that’s the most that I’ve have spen in a charger for my steam deck it cost $55.00 dollars and it’s worth it, I got my money’s worth with this charger.. works vey well
Great Job for Anker and Power Integrations!
I would recommend the Aukey Omnia 90watt charger. You can charge for axample 2 devices. One witt 60watt and the other one with 30 watt. Much more convenient if you travel and have to charge multiple devices.
In love with anker's simple solutions chargers and efficient
For someone who needs to save each cubic centimetre in backpack this is perfect device. I have two of them if I need to travel only with notebook and few essential things (phone, sometimes iPad and headphones). The only thing that suprised me is when I bought EU version with Europlug connector, it supports only 200V - 240V 50/60 Hz ~ which to be honest suprised me as flyback SMPS typically has broad voltage compatibility
Chargers & cables? Followed instantly! 😂
Nice teardown. I would have liked to see the inverter magnetics since a large part of the safety of a online charger is dependent on the isolation of the main transformer. Still a great teardown
Great teardown!
Never seen this big caps on a mobile charger with well protection. 👀❤️👀
Great video and inserted info.
Thanks! I am addicted to charger teardowns...
Thanks for the great content, can you please compare it with the similar 65w charger from RavPower?
Impressive test... found it after buing the same Device for Tear down :) Any mor info on the mains conversion inductor/transformer?
Have you been able to fully load the Device to65W and thermal-image it?
@chargerLAB next video can do the new anker 67w 3 port from Costco that’s NOT gan stamped to see if GAN is inside?
Good!. But you didn't mentioned thermal problem with aluminum capacitor dry out problem.
Does this get really hot more than the 2o watt when you’re charging iPhone 13s
That was great ,thank you .
Please tell us is it worth to pay much more to buy anker against baseus?
Do you know if the 65w model supports 100-110v input??
Can i use this charger for my notebook that use 19,5v? Because this anker charger run at 20v
low key best charger for the 16" macbook pro, as the peak power draw is 75w while editing on final cut.
When you say MOS is sounds like you are saying 'moist'. lol, loving your videos though, new subscriber!
Haha~ We'll improve this.
Great teardown. Would like to know the dimensions and weight of the 30 and 45W versions as well, for comparisons.
30W will be 38*31.6*30.4 mm, and 45W will be 41.2*35*37.6 mm. But the power density of 65W will be the highest.
Would be ok to just buy the 65w for samsung note 20 ultra?
@@swahab Yeah, you'd just be paying more for the exta power you're not using. 25W is all you need it looks like.
@@Morelandos thanks.
It's called education for Anker charger
i just discovered your videos today, i love your teardown videos!!! please do macbooks next!!!
What is the make/model of that digital caliper?
Anker 313 45w and this Nano 2 45w , what is the latest product ?
Use one of those as my Dell 13" laptop charger, and it has worked great.
Great video, thank you!
Whats the small blue little thingy?
I have an Anker Nono II 65W and broke after 3-4 utilisations and I come to this clip to see how should I open it and trying to repair it, but seeing so much glue/paste inside I think I can throw it away it can't be repaired
I have both Anker Nano 30W & 65W, the 30W version can't charge iPhone 13 Pro max > 20W. (Other device like notebook is ok to take full 30W)
Hi, I like to point out that US Plug versions have two versions one is regular 100-240V and other one 200V-240V snd one is sold in other countries except US. which might be problem if you travel different countries. (as qualoty of voltage supplied may b bad at some places)
i was hoping there would be a performance test
That's amazing, you must be an Electrical Engineer? Great video.
We're a team.
Can you teardown orsen C10 gan charger?
Expensive video, well done.
What is "Sermo glue"?
Nice Video, it is very interesting
wow very nice.
and it was very interesting

Mine just arrived and I'm super impressed! I travel every week with three USB-C -devices and this takes so much bulk out of my backpack by replacing my two bigger chargers. Additionally, I recommend buying the Anker Powerline III Flow cable with this. I didn't think a freaking cable would be exciting but it's the best damn charging cable I've ever had! The charger and the cable feel like quality products, and I hope they last long.
yes, this, laptop nowadays is thin enough to slip like a book, but they still ship with like, a literal brick to charge them up, it is stupid, thankfully, many laptops can be charged through usb C, so i can buy third party charger as small as this.
I've seen you copy-paste the exact same comment in another video. Astroturfing is immoral. I'll never buy an Anker product in my life.
Edit: this is the video:
czcams.com/video/T6CMuHzZwBY/video.html
@@chesshooligan1282 Nice catch! That must be the only comment I've ever copy-pasted. Didn't see beforehand that it could be mislabeled as astroturfing. Unfortunately because of your comment I'm stuck with that label as there's no official way to search another user's YT comment history to disprove it. Going forward, I'll try and restrain my enthusiasm over a product into one comment on one video. Live and learn :)
@@eaaeeeea I'd seen Anker astroturfing before; must be a coincidence. I've also seen people get excited over stuff before -- guns, mobile phones, operating systems -- but get excited over a USB cable? That's bloody unusual.
@@chesshooligan1282 I can totally see how I caused suspicion. I'm unusually excited over an USB cable because it turned quite a frustrating experience into a pleasant one for me.
I had done extensive research into chargers and cables, and my stupid ass still ended up buying the wrong thing. OnePlus 65W had wrong voltage + amperage for my laptop and the cable was stiff (like most USB cables are). Returned those.
Enter the Anker charger, the specs of which I triple checked against my laptop + phone + headphones. The USB charging standards are a goddamn mess. Saw Anker praising their USB cable for superior softness and flexibility and thought "meh, couldn't be worse than the previous one". Turns out a the soft coating can add value, at least it did for me. The flexibility makes the cable easy to roll. So yeah I'm happy with my purchase and wanted to spread the word, but I don't expect others to get as hyped as I did.
Can you please do a teardown of the Baseus 65w gan charger?
There are lots of different models of Baseus 65w GaN charger, which one are you referring?
Can you compare the wattage per gram of this and other chargers? The first GaN charger I got was small but felt very heavy. I was a bit disappointed.
The weight of the charger is about 137g (4.83 oz). So, wattage per gram will be 65/137 = 0.474 w/g. You can do that by yourself. Cause we'll provide size and weight data for every single power-related product we have torn down.
Very good video thanks
Need to disassemble transformer, to see if it is super dodgy, or not
im curious of the "thermal glue" is meant to move heat to the outer shell or if its meant to insulate heat from the shell
It's used to dissipate heat, which means to move heat to the outer shell
Forgot to mention the flyback transformer.
Gallium is the next revolution in electronics to make everything smaller.
Well…..you ain’t putting that back together 😂👍
Finally I found you.
Acuttly Gan chargwer are useful in alptop if they make 350 W charger same sixe as mobile and very light weight it is actully use full but not in mobile phone
Thank you for your teardown. Appreciate it & subbed. Can I ask, I have a Thinkpad Nano which supports 65w and I am sure that this charger can certainly do the job. I also have a galaxy ZFlip3 which only supports 15w charge. Will I damage the battery by using this charger ? If no, I do not need to carry 2 separate chargers with me. Thank you in advance.
No, it will not damage the phone, the charger will only provide what the phone calls for.
@@andrewt9204 Tq very much. take care
it is charging my 65w laptop hp envy 13 fast & fine
*i subscribe nw * i like your info Teardown charger!!😊🎉😇👍
Thanks for the video. Where is GaN, the technology behind this charger?
GaN is just a semiconductor material, compared with SiC, it can make the charger smaller and compact.
In the transistors and diodes in converting ac to dc

Looks interesting, what's your opinion about the limited input voltage of 200-240V/50-60Hz so you can't use in when travelling to America (northern, middle and parts of southern America) or Japan?
I don't travel much but most official chargers/power supplies do that, except older game consoles (and some recent ones, my Xbox Series X supports 100-120V+200-240V 50/60 Hz, also the Nintendo Switch ones but my PS5 is limited to 220-240V) you can often swap out the cable/plug because they use a IEC 60320 C5/C6 or C7/C8 connector or simply use a travel adapter for chargers like this.
Strangely the US Nano IIs are rated for 100-240V and for the european model Anker support says they may also work in 100-120V environments...
Yes, actually, this charger can also support 100-240V after tearing it down, the reason why it's printed 200-240V/50-60Hz may be the sales strategies in different regions.
Came here to ask this exact question. I haven't seen a consumer device in this category in a long time that isn't multvotage capably and found this really odd when I got my charger today. Glad to see that it can indeed handle 110V even if labeled as 220 only. Thanks for this teardown!
The Anker Thermal Glue Nano II
I have the anker 18w nano chargers and they all make a screeching sound when charging while my apple chargers are silent. Does this charger also make a sound when charging? I also tried a ravpower 60w gan charger and it makes larger sparks when plugged in and it makes the sparks almost every time it is plugged in, also rare with the apple chargers. Can you include sounds and sparks in the future reviews?
wth?
@@HoloScope it is very faint and mostly when connected to a wireless charger, but even when not charging.
How come the Apple 61W charger is so much larger than the Anker one? Why is the Apple one so large?
Architecture, GaN tech, heat dissipation. The reason is multiple.
compared to the original apple 20 watts type c charger , which one is better for the iphone ?
This charger is just a little bit bigger than Apple 20W. So, if you only need to charger your iPhone, then Apple 20W.
If you also want to charge your laptop, etc, then this one.
Hello, I just saw your channel. I liked your charger reviews. I recently purchased a Samsung device. My phone supports 25w fast charging. Do you think it would be better to buy an original Samsung adapter or an Anker adapter? Which one would be the better choice? Thank you.
Anker's charger is good enought.
Is this charger a good with Oneplus 9pro,,compared with the original charger warp 65watt?…please inform your experience
Oneplus 9pro only support 45W PD, so it won't reach 65W using this charger.
Take it the glue isnt great at dealing with thermal? Cause Gan chargers shouldnt heat up all that much and they do. Me and others have tried many buildings and many outlets. The gan chargers didnt take much longer than a normal charger to heat up under load.
I love technology so your video love me.
keep watching~
I just wish they'd made a white, 3-pin, foldable version.
@anker😂 hope it'll come true.
@@ChargerLAB Considering heating concerns, I would've thought white would be the default colour for most chargers and high-performance phones.
@@MalaysianTropikfusion Black is actually a better color for housings to radiate heat away. It's why when you are taking a temperature reading with an IR camera, you want to try using a black-body surface because they have the best emissivity.
@@CalculatedRiskAK Now that sort of makes sense, too. I don't know what to think now 😣
Nice and informative video. I do have a durability related question, does these chargers have a rating like a specific distance that they could fall to the ground for example from half a meter or 1 meter and still not be damaged or so? what would be the safe distance that if i accidently dropped a charger like this one to the floor, it would be still safe to use it? Many thanks :)
Different countries and regions will have different standards, it's hard to include all info in one video. As the consumer, it's should be OK if it still can be used.
Hello Charger lab, Done subscribing to your channel. Can i Ask a question, i have a Anker Powerpoint mini dual port 12w charger, and i have a small observation about the charger because if i plug it in the socket it creates a small sound like buzzzzzzzz, i dont know why? can u please explain to me why it make small noise while im charging.
The coil of inductor in the charger produces a vibrating sound due to the magnetic field when the AC passes through.
@@ChargerLAB thank you very much ❤️🎉🙏
Can it charge for oppo supper vooc?
It cannot.
nice tear down video, i have very bad experience with that charger it never worked for more then 6 months and ends up dead so i dont recommend this charger to any one specially 65W
you destroy that thing :o
I think it has 75 watts
How about blue capacitor (safety capacitor)?
It was from DGCX, model should be CD 471K.
Bro Which wall charger is best for phones ?
I want versatility and Durability.
And Don't want to buy many wall chargers.
Need the best one for serveral devices and different ports. Bro
I am seeing Nano Pro and Nano II 65 W chargers.
Any things you want to recommend?
If you use Mac and iPad along with iPhone buy the latest Anker 65W nano. It will automatically adjust its output through recognizing what is pluggedin in the other end(you can always use single charger for everything). If you use only iPhone the new Anker 20W is best(It can also charge, Mac and iPad etc, but It will be slower cause max power output is 20W)
Can it charge mi 10 30w?
It cannot fully supports 30W, just around 25W. Because 30W will be Xiaomi’s private protocol.
does it have PPS ?
Yes.
Will there be any risk to use this 65W charger to charge the new 14’ MacBook Pro (67W)? I heard you can’t use a lower wattage charger.
It's OK to use the lower wattage charger, the only problem is you'll take more time to be fully charged.
I was using a 20W UBS-C iPhone charger to work on a Macbook Pro 13" keeping the battery level stable. Even a 10W old iPad charger with USB-A to USB-C cable works, not enough to fully power the laptop but battery drains 3 times slower.
USB-C charging is very smart, no risk damaging laptop with a low power charger, if the charger itself is from a good quality brand. A major hurdle is inability to quickly top up laptop battery, e.g. between the meetings.
@@ChargerLAB 2 watt will make a difference lmao?
Are these good chargers for S21 Ultra?
It can support PPS of 3.3-16V 3.25A, so it's suitable for S21 Ultra.
@@ChargerLAB ultra fast charge 2.0 needs 20v pps
That glue is called potting
Need a dual port charger to charge 2 phones at 45w each
You can consider 100w dual-port USB-C charger

folding plug is the weakest point
Это херово когда 65 ват забито ногой в такой малый размер жить будет не долго
А по статистике как? Анкер уже не первый год маленькие адаптеры выпускают, есть жалобы на поломки?
assemble it again and use it, or donate to someone to use it
Too heavy.
The Apple charger is bigger for a reason...
The isothermal design of the Anker will kill the electrolytic capacitors in less than 1000 hours...
Doesn’t have Japanese Capacitors, it is not as good as Apple’s it was not for the price and size
Inside looks like “eww”. I wouldn’t buy this.
