    Love the huge chunk of capacitors. Apple's design keeps giving

    can u also show the inside of the powercable? would be very interesting too

    Really nice! But why did they choose 15.9V at 9A? Wouldn't it be better 20V @7A or 50V @2. 86A? The wire would have been much thinner and less voltage would have dropped across the connector or just across the wire🤔

    • @jaccurtis5789
      @jaccurtis5789 Před 2 lety +4

      Maybe the 15.9V allows them to use the same step-down converter in the mac as they use in macbooks (if 15.9 is the max. battery voltage in the macbook), so possibly saves some design time and effort vs. new internal converter design just for a higher supply voltage in the mac. Otherwise seems an odd voltage to use for a power supply.

      @@tomaskolinger uh right... I didn't read the previous comment too carefully. I was saying 50V because it's used in the latest 240W or 250W chargers (and also think about the last USB-C charger cable)

    Still it is not clearly explained whether it is just a barrel pin power plug with integrated data lines or just thunderbolt 4 like data+power supply, also disassemble the cable too

    Can you tell me if you know that the M1 cord with the Internet option would fit an M3? I know they’re two generations apart but with the cord work on an M3 iMac thank you.

    Hi mate, great video. Got a question for you: my iMac A2438 stopped working, I measured voltage out of power supply and it shows 3.1V instead of 15.9 ??? What do you think might be the problem please? High quality components yet it died after 14 months of use? Shameful

    I recently bought a 24" iMac for $2,400. When I got it home and unpacked it, I found that there were no instructions, and not even a packing list. So much for my gripe--Damn you, Apple. Anyway, what do I do with the Apple iMac 24" M1 ACDC Power Adapter with LAN Port? I know one end plugs into the computer, but what do I with the other end? Do I now have to add to the $2,400 tab and buy even more stuff? #$%^&**!!! (Sat Nov 19 2022; 2"03 PM)
