  • We all started somewhere, and we all developed bad habits and deficiencies as we built up our boxing game. In this video, I break down some of the most common mistakes that beginner boxers make and why they do it. As this list could go on for days, I just chose a random five and ran with it. Be assured that there will be a part two, as one video is not enough time to cover it all! Make sure to leave the most common mistakes you've seen beginners make or maybe make yourself! Don't forget to like and subscribe to keep up with all things Punch Club Media, and as always, Thanks for tuning in!

Pretty excellent timing. Got my face punched in today in sparring. I think my footwork isn't amazing when moving around my opponent. I might not move my head enough. I have only head sparred twice now and i struggle to keep my eyes on my opponent. When I'm slipping I'm turning my entire head away, blinking a lot, so I get hit with more volume as a result.

Those big slips are something I struggled with as well. Overexagerrating the movement and slipping into punches as a result. With time, your sparring will get better. The first couple times are you getting used to the excitment on being in there, and thats a lesson in itself!

@@PunchClubmedia Yeah, everyone I'm sparring is more experienced than me, and it's a different feeling to be sure, which I'll get used to in time. I definitely have some strengths: I'm good at handfighting, parrying etc; catching the jab then coming back with my own jab is easily my best move. But as soon as the pressure is on I've been shelling up and getting my head knocked in. Just have to keep going and focus on technique more than anything.
