- čas přidán 28. 12. 2023
- The mean streets of 1980s London turned out a teenage troublemaker named Lee Murray. Despite a burgeoning criminal career, Murray took a detour into mixed martial arts. He fought at UFC 46, but Murray remains best known for a back-alley brawl with Tito Ortiz... and his involvement in a multi-million-dollar robbery. Friends, witnesses, and Murray's attorney recount unbelievable stories of an unapologetic athlete.

They went from guys like Lee Murray….to the likes of guys like Ian Garry. Damn.
At least they have Sean Strickland

His story needs to be made into a movie. Like someone else said a “Guy Ritchie” movie. Can you imagine?
I heard that is the plan in Guy's near future
I heard that 10 years ago@@BosonogiNebo
Theres a series called catching lightning its proper good
@@Jordan-zt7li Where can you watch that?
Amazing it hasnt... its a no brainer hit...
2035 is gonna give us the JRE episode we never knew we needed
Good luck getting him into the US! 😂

Lee Murray Stories in Moroccan jail are truly unbelievable. He fearlessly took down by knockout all Moroccans notorious criminals and drug dealers who tried to intimidate him, earning the respect of guards and inmates alike. His reputation demands respect and everyone knows not to cross the line with him. Despite his circumstances, he lives for his daily training routine in Moroccan jail.
Would u expect anything different? He got his girl pregnant in there..😂
@@karlbirch5492sounds like an idiot
Thanks for the laugh kid
I blame Herb Dean for the late stoppage in the alley and Tito taking those unnecessary blows!
The only one taking unnecessary blows is Tito's wife
@@OctagonOutcomeYo it’s Chael Sonnen over here 😂
@@OctagonOutcomeI remember an interview with Jenna and Tito where the interviewer said "what's it like watching your partner getting viciously pounded in the ring. And Jenna I'd like to ask you the same question"

He is the 1st BMF champion. When Nate said fighters aren't gangster anymore he was talking about this Era.
I know he was a weight above but imagine what he would have done to Masvidal and Nate Diaz in a little BMF flex, they had better have a packed undercard because he sleeps both inside 2 rounds, simple as that..
Lol
If anyone has showtime/paramount watch “catching lightning”. It really dives into everything from his childhood all the way to the sentencing. The Tito story gets me every time.
That’s a great documentary
Just watched it the other day!
Bang on
I grew up with one of Lee Murray's closest friends and have heard some crazy stories. The money that crew were making and this was before the robbery was mental.
When he beat Pele the crowd went nuts.
Tell us one?
@@tom4381 I was in the audience for both this fight and Silva. The Pele fight was pretty scary cos it really felt like the crowd would riot.
I was warren buffets baby boy, he left me. I miss papi.
Lee had around 200-300 mates in the crowd and after that fiasco no promotions would let him compete bc it was too dangerous for everyone else involved. You can Google that info bc no one talks about that real business.@@tom4381
If you followed the old school MMA forums specifically the old Sherdog forums, Lee used to post about his street fights. He had some really really wild stories. Dude was a certified nutter.
The sherdog forum was amazing back in the day. I hope someone archived the "My Pic with Matt Hughes" thread. That shit was so funny.
@@_GOD_HAND_yeah it’s still there lmfao
HE KNOCKED OUT TITO IN A STREET FIGHT WHEN TITO WAS A CHAMPION AND HE WAS A NOBODY LOL LEE MURRAG IS DEFINITELY A REAL G
Nobodys are the scariest guys tbh you have no idea what they can do
Anyone can get knocked out with a sucker punch.

@@masonm9494 not gonna lie, didn't know that part. Lol
@@NYCDurrani you should have watched the full video bro, no problem tho I used to think it was just Lee jumping Tito
Back in the day I was so naive. It's obvious now looking back that Lee and all the guys he fought were roided out of their minds.
Plenty of guys wanna act hard. Lee didn't have to act.
And the guy he nearly killed in the road rage attack had been in prison for road rage offences. He was actually reverse raming his car into Lee's car with his pregnant Mrs and daughter in the car screaming in terror. He's lucky Lee didn't stamp his head into mush.
Like Chael Sonnen said... Most combatants are one out of three things...an athlete, a fighter, or a competitor. If you are two out of three, then you have what it takes to be a super star. He seemed like a fighter and a competitor, but definitely a straight up fighter. God bless him.
Lee Murray was an intense scary dude. I wish he kept his nose clean and we got to see how his career played out.
He's one of the rare fighters that other professional fighters called him incredibly intimidating and scary
@@PowPow-yp9rf he's a street thug with anger issues that can throw a punch. that's it. y'all sound gay af putting him on a pedestal.
Dana White can't wait to book Lee Murray v Tito Ortiz at UFC 600 in 2035.
His fight with Anderson was super competitive. Dude was a beast.
Why are they dragging this story up again ?
Murray at UFC300 ? 😈
bro's still in jail and isn't getting released til 2035
One of the saddest things about this is the wasted talent
Mrs Millitich's China anecdote hinting towards Lee's criminal behavior was a GREAT use of foreshadowing
That king kong Lee drawing on The Big Ben was hilarious
These are on par with the 30for30s from back in the day. Thanks for uploading these
Highly recommend y'all watch Catching lightning, perfectly explains Lee's story
Bro said i wished i woulda took more ...😂😂he has about 10 mill as soon as he gets out for sure❤
He got caught with kilos of cocaine in morocco. He will be lucky if he ever gets out of prison. He hasnt actually served any time for the robbery yet.
@@1jakedizzlelol nah mate his right hand Paul did 4 years in jail and paid back around £400 he definitely has plenty money when he comes out of morroco
Nah. He'll have buried it somewhere only to find a block of flats built over it when he gets out.
The way he lives if he doesn’t change 10 mil will only last him 2 years max.

He got the call to fight for the UFC after his win against Pele Landi-Jons in 2003. Pele had a win against then UFC welterweight champ Matt Hughes in 2001. Visa issues related to a criminal background. Nonetheless, a rare middleweight with power that would have been a force and a huge star in the UFC.

12:32 the giggle when he hears tito's name tells you what happened in that street fight 😂😂😂
Let's have a Lee Murray playable character in the game lads come on
This animation is sick! 😎🤙
Always seemed to me, that British fighters don't have the wrestling training that Americans get, but at the same time they have much better boxing and striking training. The street fight between Tito Ortiz and Lee Murray kind of proves that.
This should be a movie this guys story is epic
Used to train BJJ literally next door to the Securitas depot and never knew this story... mad

I wish Lee had kept himself on the straight and narrow. He could of been a legend in the ufc

I'm convinced Lee Murray is the reason Tito is a dumbass these days

I always wondered what would've happened if Lee Murray crossed paths with Chuck Liddell instead of Tito
What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul. mark 8:34.
Lee got caught smuggling drugs in the prison that’s why he got 25years . His friend got out in 9 years and still has the money he almost got killed when someone tried to assassinate him he got shot in the neck and chest but survived.
You chattin shit pal... Murray was sentced to 10 years at first because of dual nationality ( Britush Maroccan) Prosecution appealed his sentence and he was jailed to 25. Don't open your mouth if you know nothing.
thought he got sentenced to ten years for that heist , then he appealed it , then they gave him another 15 years?
Murray was initially sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. He later tried to escape from prison but his attempt was foiled.
This failed attempt backfired and his sentence was increased. Lee Murray is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence in Morocco.

Those after the bar street fights are better than any PPV, Especially when the guys doing it are on PPV.
Just goes to show that although you're a feared fighter in a controlled environment, you can still get it in the streets. Very few are besting Murray in a street fight. Very few.
Juiced to the gills
The first time I ever saw Lee Murray was by complete chance in some crazy mma promotion . For some reason someone had mentioned to me about team mma fights, I ended up watching a few of these crazy matches and they were crazy , literally teams by country with four or five blokes vs the same amount on the other countries team . Basically one came on and it was England team vs Poland I think . Anyway it was mad cos even though it was mma each team was specialised in their own martial art . Our boys were boxing and mma and the Polish guys were mainly trained in bjj and something else I can't remember . Anyway when thwy were fighting you could all fight a person each or all four of you could gang up on one geezer till hes ko. Anyway lee was the only one left 😂
