Reminds me of a pretty similar amp in pedal format, with a more blue color than black.
Thank you for doing those videos!
Looks like a practical unit. I'm happy to see that it has a loop. I'm checking out the manual right now. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for your comparisons and sound demos Kohle! It's always interesting to watch those :)
Wow. Since having no amp this would be THE solution. Thanks for testing!
Really well thought out piece of gear -- very possible I'll be snagging one of these when available. Thanks Kristian -- looking forward to your in studio review of it.
Me too!
Definitely dig the concept the Blackstar Amped 1, look forward to a more in depth video on it.
Dude.. that's pretty rad... they should also release just a power tube emulation pedal with depth, presence, negative feedback, sag.. ect. controls... with stereo capability.. nothing else... that would be sick.
Good idea!
KSR makes a great one friend. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@jconner3891 Really??.. which one?
A company called Amptweaker (originally owned by James Brown, the one who made the 5150) used to make a pedal called Depthfinder that had nothing but depth and presence knobs. You can find them every once in a while on ebay or reverb
What I’ve been using is an Aphex Xciter which similar, but you can adjust the frequency of the “depth” and “presence”
@@slayabouts Yeah man.. is a great piece of gear.. but really hard to get ahold of.. however, there is an awesome alternative now, the GUP Tech PDeq, which I just got.. really nice pedal for depth and presence... but still, would be awesome to have a pedal dedicated to adding particular power tube dynamics to players tone.. from EL34's, KT66, 6L6, 6550's ect.. and the ability to manipulate their characteristics.. Would be sick to just shape the bottom end of the tone before it goes out to the power amp or into the Di..
It seemed pretty awesome man, i cant wait to hear your thoughts in the studio with it :)
Thank you to share those those excellent rig review. You keep us informed about new stuff and is the willingness to buy new hardware.
Brilliant video! Really enjoyed it. I love Blackstar products so this was great to see and hear one in action. Really want to get one to run my Helix through now! 😀🖤🤘🏻
Ooo, that response control in particular is really quite intriguing - especially for those of us who haven't been able to try anything aside from EL34s and 6L6s! Can't wait to see what kind of nastiness you cook up with this thing and the Grindstein.
This small thing sounds amazing. I need to compare this to my Seymour Duncan Power Stage. The option to change the tube amp style makes it even more interesting.
Awesome!!!, this is the one.... Great tones, It would be perfect for my setup. Also, a great demonstration. Thank you.
I aldready have a TVP head by blackstar and it sounds amazing even with pedals!! I'm using it live this evening! Nice video
The Blackstar distortion sounded really good. I did not know they had the little amp pedal. thanks for sharing
great job as always, the Blackstar AMPED 1 sounds great!
Sweet! That sounds quite versatile. Good stuff for a home studio either if you go with plugins or pedals.
I'm impressed, blackstar is genuinely nailing it! I myself own their Artisan 30 combo since 2015, one of the best amp I've ever played and you can find it used for damn cheap (the point to point wired amp definition of cheap). Keep it up!
Sounds killer, thanks for the demo.
Awesome, especially because you can use it as a power amp and as a linear amp for the modelers and with that exactly the flexibility I need on stage. Just subscribed to your email list.
Really nice, the most impressive was the difference between tube types. Nice one!
I‘m into the EL34 sound as well but I think that it‘s a great feature to switch to another tube simulation as well. This thing is really worth checking out. Great Video by the way! Thanks for that!
Hey Christian. The tone you got out of that white box with the black box was shockingly brutal. Be glad to win one to try in my studio.
Great content dude! This new Dept 10 line definitely looks/sounds very interesting.
I've been gassing a bit ever since this pedalboard amp was announced. Ha!
Thanks for the demo!
🔥Keep being awesome my dude!🔥
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Cheers!
I would love to hear a real in depth video with different ir’s/cabinets and brutal pedals. Looking forward to next video. Very cool idea.
Awesome! I am currently looking into streamlining my live rig with a full pedalboard setup so this is definitely going on my radar! Victory Amps V4 Amp series is another one to look at for tube amp in a pedal.
I have the Older Blackstar Dual Dist and DistX, a HT5metal, and HTclub 40. Love them all!!!! I'm not into modellers and love amps and pedals. I have been looking at the new Dept 10 since their release..now also adding this Amped 1 to the list.
The pedal amp seems very versatile and quite useful. My main question would be how loud can it get, and does it stay clean and clear when pushed? I've noticed a lot of power amps really sound a bit weird when they're cranked to gigging levels.
Which amp become weird at gig volume?
What a platform that will be at home practically anywhere. Well done!
Happy to see more power amps/non tube heads become popular. Very excited to see more solid state + digital hybrids.
Great video, interested to try this out. I have a Blackstar Silverline 20w and am really impressed with that.
Very interesting unit. Blackstar is a very innovative company, although I was never really into Blackstar soundwise. I have to give it a try.
Sounds like a perfect addition for plugins to get some character and warmth into your tone
Thanks for this Video,Christian. Informativ and evil as always. Freu mich schon auf einen detaillierteren Test.🤘
Woahhhhhhh. The AMPED sounds amazing!! I have so many ideas and combos I would love to experiment with if I was the lucky winner🤞🏼
Quite a coincidence, I was talking about this pedal amp with a friend last night and we found it more than interesting. It was really nice to have a demonstration of the possibilities of this versatile little beast! Hoping to be the lucky winner!
This pedal sized amp look amazing, I'd love to try one!
Very useful and versatile, would love to try it in a live situation.
Can't wait for the other brands to start doing some amp pedals too this is such a great concept... I already have the terror stomp and I can't wait to buy the amped 1
Really nice unit, can't wait to get my hands on one!
Would love to hear more comparisons with real tube pre-amps paired with: (a) real tube power amps, and (b) the Amped 1. This would enable a better assessment of the Amped 1's tube power amp emulation, without the diode-clipping or aliasing artifacts from emulated pre-amps.
This looks really friggin' nice for both studio and live work! Great video! And don't forget, I already owe you a beer ;)
Really? Why's that?
@@KohleAudioKult Promises were made back when you asked what our favourite beer was. And I have yet to deliver on that lol
Complement of the day, you are the greatest music producer! I watch every video of yours and highlight a lot of them. I really hope I get lucky!
I think these pedal amps are the future for live players. It is definitely not a tube amp but in a live situation it's so much more convenient. It is really a pleasure seeing more and more companies embracing this idea. I definitely want one!
Not so sure. AI/machine learning is blowing everything away. I think units like Kemper and Helix will be the future. Floor units with abysmal cpus.
Hmm, very interesting. I see it even has an FX loop. Want one!
Sounds awesome! Would be amazing to carry around on the board for small gigs 🤘
Appears would super useful studio especially for pedal freaks!
Thanks for this one!!
I'm curious about how it's actually delivering the full power at 16 Ω 🤔 Is it the same at lower loads? Is it some sort of impedance control, does it have an output transformer?
Impressive! Been looking for something like this to travel with!
Wish Ibanez would release a tubescreamer algorithm in partnership with these platforms so you could punch it in with a button, they know that's the first thing any metal person wants to do...
Some amps already have boosts and some pedalboard amps do as well.
However, while i think you're not wrong, we gotta keep in mind people who boost, already got a boost pedal. While a built in option can save on real estate on the pedalboard, it would feel like a waste when people prefer their alternatives, like the 33, Plumes or a clean booster.
So, it's not entirely a bad thing not having one.
Respect your opinion completely, but the audience Christian is selling to want a tight chug with no hassle to get it to thrash. Just think they’re missing a trick, but I guess us old metallers are not the bulk of the sales audience. I think it will come in the future but let’s see, the IR’s for mesa OS cab are so good now, they should just get the package together.
I prefer alternatives to the standard TS, but yeah. Integrate it and be done. The tweakers like me can always not use it :)
@@cmd_f5 it’s easier to ask forgiveness than permission haha!
Ya Know; That'll work really Nice with My Set up... Thanks Man 💯❤️🤘
I need one of these!!! Sounds really goooood! Would save my back from lugging in a big amp head.
I was looking at the Seymour Duncan power stage for a smaller portable and consistent amp option. But it seems like this is a better option. I do use pedals for high gain distortion this seems an awesome solution when not having the right requested amps for live setting. Super interested in this pedal amp. Can’t wait to see your videos with it in the studio. Thanks!
ISP stealth
This does sound very interesting indeed, would be awesome to see a comparison with the Seymour Duncan power amp once you get the blackstar in! Thanks for the excellent content as always, also, would love to win this 🍻
Super interesting product. Looking forward to a more in-depth review.
Looks very interesting. Would love to add this to my board🤘
Cool! Just for tasting the kind of behaviour of different valves, this thing is really handful. Could be for a lot of situations! I am always open to test this sort of technology as i have been playing Kemper for a time in studio & live... At the end, the best thing about kemper to me is just to be my friends amp´s "thief"..
That is a really cool and new concept. Hopefully they'll add a feature to add third party IRs.
I love how much you and your Fernandez Baritone are so inseparable that you bring to 42gearstreet even though Henning has half a million guitars!
Before, I had a lot of pedals and my two-cone amp. I started recording more at home than I was playing on stage and sold the amp and pedals except for my Booster EP. I switched to plugins. Neural DSP dazzled and convinced me. But time has passed and I'm starting to miss the sound of the pedals, the amp... Anyway... I'll have to buy things again.
Killer partner for my pedals thats for sure and with some interesting options on the powertubes simulation section... Would be great to get it and start experimenting .. so many fantastic options these days my good lord :)
Cheers master Kristian and keep the fantastic work please!!
u know that tubes in real life dont actually effect tone check out spectresoundsstuudio for his test
This looks pretty cool. I'm definitely interested in checking it out. If I win one, even better. 😁
This small amp is really good option for rehearsals, small concerts and home. I use Blackstar HT5 at home and I really like its sound and ISF knob. Hope it can sound like my favorite HT5.
The form factor is really nice, and it seans to sound great as well
Sounds pretty good to me !!! Good products and good review
Interesting amp, with very useful options. I imagine it woudl be simple to get a good tone with this. The thing that really struck me was the tone of the guitar right at the end in your "play-out" section in the last 10 or 20 seconds from 15:51, a beautiful single coil crunch with delay & reverb. Can you tell me what you used to get this tone?
I have just recently found your channel and I LOVE IT! I have been binge watching your catalogue and because of your demo of the Eminence DV-77, I bought one. FYI, I would love to win this Blackstar!
Welcome!
I hoped the Amped 1 will be an amp in a box like the TVPs, which i really like. Also this is a nice demo of it.
It sound really good! Very curious to try it!
love the show keep up the good work🤘
Awesome! the only downside is not being able to load third party IR's (that means you have to win both the amp and the ir loader, lol), but again, having a great pedal platform is really nice and the tube simulation and the isf are great features that will sure help dialing some killer tones! Great content as always! Cheers from Brazil!
Not being able to load IR's is a deal breaker not gonna lie
@@KharonYT yawn. there is a whole dedicated app to construct a speaker emulation. IRs are a myth.
Thank you for the videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you, good sir! You are doing the world a service in guiding meek souls through the valleys of musical darkness. Salutations from the emerald isle (of Ireland, that is).
Thanks! Always happy to darken this world a little more! Haha!
Interesting product. I think the tube response is a bit extreme, but it's good to have it anyway. Sound cool for crunch ad well.
i really like the idea of this pedal amp, considering I usually just play with a distortion pedal straight into a daw with a poweramp and IR.
Well it sounds like a sweet little pedal-amp with lots of potential both for live and studio work. I wonder how it sounds if you compare it to one of Blackstars modelling amps like the ID60TVP
Would be interesting to hear what this pedal platform could do with an actual Grindstein pedal in front of it and some of your own IRs being used in the chain as well.
That is a great idea!
Love your content its thoughtful great info !!!!!! The amp 1 sounds great I would love one evil fother mucker !!!!!!!
Hi I tried the TELEGRAM reply it doesn't seem to work
Got mine last week,it's got tone, feel, and many many options. 100 watts feels like my marshall.i absolutely love this toy.And it's player friendly.AND SOUNDS RIGHTEOUS. THE TUBE SWITCHING OPTION ACTUALLY NAILS THEIR SOUND AND FEEL.GITCU ONE.
Awesome video Kristian
Cheers !!!
Actually this is what i was looking for, i play and record with amp sims, and this tube amp could be interesting adding some other flavours to the mix guitars, nice product!!! Kohle i love your tones on guitar, i have your IR's and i cant get enough of them, at least for my taste of guitar tones, nailed it!!! cheers
Grat to hear that! Thanks!
Nice concept. Good solution to connect with BulGuitar Amp1 to achieve stereo guitar sound😊
Been looking for a pedalboard amp to pair up with my Kemper. Might have to try this out.
Name and size factor reminds me of BluGuitar Amp1. Cool stuff for pedals, but I prefer Amp1 Iridium. You must check it out!
i use an HX stomp with an ISP stealth power amp. this is a game changer for sure. wish they'd unlock the option to upload our own IR's, but i guess in the case of anyone with a modeler, they can do that already
Love your videos! You're a proper chuga chuga nerd 😎
Love the idea of this product for multiple reasons, but especially, the simplicity. I think Blackstar are making a pretty good comeback lately. Also their new St James amps are pretty sick!
Yes, I gotta check out that one as well
@@KohleAudioKult please don’t do it too soon, I am 1 review away from buying the thing and I shouldn’t be spending more money on gear too soon 😂
Hi Kristian, it would be great to finally win something and I could also complete my pedal equipment. By the way, your IR's are awesome 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It’s definitely a great option for us with bad backs 🤘
It's an amazing sounding floor amp. Really handy. Does ist have a line out for the FOH as well?
Something nice.. hm.. I just got the Oh My Goat last week, that's something nice! Been interesting trying to get it dialed in as I just use an interface - amp sims. Going into the clean channel of the Mercuriall Rectofire has been the nicest slice so far.
The options on the pedals (linear/tube) could be interesting for creating IR's.
I like the crunch tone it had.
Finde das Teil sehr interessant - wäre glaub ich eine Option für meinen Pod Go
This looks very useful!
It would be great to see full fledged video with all options mentioned at the beginning (plugins, modellers etc.).
What an amazing pedal. Sounds like a pure analog.
Very awesome Amp in a Pedal, looks like it would be great to take to a practice or quick recording session instead of lugging a half stack.
I really like the idea behind this pedal! I had ready been looking for a power stage on a pedal board type setup but having to use an IR loader on top of that while needing multiple distortion pedals to get a more “tube like” tone just seemed quite expensive. I really hope this one is on the more budget friendly side, because it would be a great way of ditching the tube amp!
So I looked it up and honestly for the features you get it is quite the deal compared to the competition. Now I’ll only have to wait for the full review to come in to see, how it will sound at it’s best. That being said, I already really liked it in this video, despite the setup being slightly ‘makeshift’ ;D
I agree that a more flexible IR loader would make it perfect!
though I have a Nextone Artist, I'll snatch one of these on the used market. I never glued with the Katana + I have other expensive gear and a good Mesa OS cab.
