- Go behind the scenes of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the upcoming third-person shooter/hack-and-slash sequel (read: CHAINSWORDS!), with developers Tim Willits, Oliver Hollis-Leick, Clive Standen, and Wade Pryce. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 will be released on September 9 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

To hear Oliver Hollis-Leick say he read "Know No Fear" made me so happy. People actually reading the material to understand the legion and chapters puts a smile on mya face and gives me confidence that they care.

World War Z was an amazing game, it wasn't as big as it could have been because it released around the time zombie games were saturated everywhere in the market.
This game should be a master piece.
with all due respect, that's literally how all the games that use the Warhammer IP goes. the key is looking at how much they actually show in-depth and long term gameplay and not just cinematics and footage from controlled environments. I'm hopeful but this game can easily end up like Darktide or Blood Bowl, a grim disappointment for what can be with the cost of an 80 dollars and what should have the early access tag

Its like PC gamers have forgotten about how a computer works and think having the strongest GPU on the market but going cheap on the actual components that deal with NPCs/hordes you know the CPU will carry them. A strong GPU wont help if the CPU is bottlenecked ESPECIALLY with the nid hordes we are seeing.

This game is very important for the survival of Saber interactive since they're no longer are owned by Embracer and this is their biggest release in years

Sabre Interactive has never let down. They did a great job with WWZ
WWz was average at best. Plus saber has habit of implementing the most idiotic and unbalanced progression systems in their games. They just develop on IPs people love.
@@takayama8060I think WWZ was better than people give it credit for. It was an absolutely rock solid game and you can see a lot of the DNA of it here, not even just in the swarm tech.
Honestly WWZ only kept getting better and better throughout the years, it is still fantastic
@@Foostini Sure but by the virtue of copying the left 4 dead formula. The game was still plagued with horrible design decisions. It was just a less competent left 4 dead.
@@takayama8060 It plugged a hole left by Valve for a decade, the design and atmosphere were missing though. Now they have Warhammer's rich world, designs and lore to work with alongside their impressive engine; hopefully this results in a game that's even more fun to PLAY than WWZ whilst also feeling like an authentic WH game

It sounds like these guys are on track to making a 40k game that really captures what makes the setting so compelling. After so many meh 40k games I'm so happy to see a competent developer dig in to this world.

No he didn't. A Deathwatch Blackshield is a marine who has cut ties with his chapter and pledged himself to serve the Deathwatch until his death.

@@iString5 Your pauldron stays the colour of your chapter when you're a "normal" Deathwatch member, doing temporary service. But Black Shields have cut ties with their chapters, and thus, don't keep that. Their pauldrons are black. They're supposed to be permanent members of the Deathwatch from now on.

These guys are absolute ballers. Every feature and trailer is an absolute win. They know what we want: a team that's excited by recreating the lore and feel of the setting. Everything I've seen so far makes me more excited. From the technical types to the writers and now even the performers, everyone has bought in.

Absolutely loved Mark in the first game, he did a stellar job and gave Titus his identity, but Clive seems like a huge fan and a perfect replacement going into the sequel - very much looking forward to him crushing it!
