    I want to thank Chris for coming on even though he was not feeling well. Most people know Chris suffers from Lyme Disease and it never actually goes away with the symptoms coming and going. Chris spent over an hour with me and never complained and he wouldn’t delay doing the interview as he is a man of his word. Just appreciate Chris and he’s got a great heart. Part 2 will be on more personal subjects but wanted to have the story with his father it’s own video.

    The second part will deal more on Chris and what he did including the 3rd Colombo War.

      I have A question for Chris-
      > Q. _'Recently you were on another podcast, where you mentioned an up-coming HISTORY channel documentary_ (where i'm assuming you gave testimony) _about your famous father's final days. What HISTORY channel documentary were you speaking about Chris? And has the show premiered yet?_
      ________
      James, You could also ask Chris;
      > Q. _Since both his father & him_ (as A young child) _were very close w/ Carlo Gambino. Did Carlo ever give you_ (Chris) _any words of wisdom or advice that you remember ?? Especially after the shooting of your father, when Gambino came to your house and picked you up in his car. What did he say to you? I know you were just A kid, but is there anything you remember [Gambino saying]? Or is there anything you care to share about that evening w/ Don Carlo?_
      &
      Thanks again James! You are doing A really good job! We appreciate all the hard work..

    I love James. My only advice is to try stopping the interruptions. Not rude ones, but just the constant affirmative “yes” and “yeah”. Especially when it’s by video, it makes it hard to listen to. Just ask the questions and let them roll. You’re doing great.

    Chris may be right about why his father was killed but there was a lot going on at that time that is seldom spoken about. The Colombos had some internal problems even aside from the Gallo issue and prior to Joe Colombo being shot, they were breaking some of the older captains back down to soldier and even killing a number of their own guys, including some quite prominent guys. I do think that if Joe Colombo had continued to rule that family, there would not have been any more Colombo civil wars.

The truck was full with hay and we had custom made Red White and Green suits.

    Joe became boss of that fam and the name was changed in 1964. Wasn't sure if you were referring to Colombo's start as boss or start of Italian American League. Always heard Johnny Carson was a bad drinker.

    • @jameseproctorpmp
      @jameseproctorpmp Před měsícem +2

      Erik I have heard that Johnny Carson was a very nasty drunk and nobody could be around him when he was drinking. Joe Profaci obviously started the family which would become known as the Colombo family. Law Enforcement in the mid 1960s just named the families after each boss. That’s why Luciano crime family became the Genovese family as Vito Genovese was boss. Mangano family became the Anastasia family and then Gambino family. Tommy Lucchese was the boss at the time and that’s why that family
      Became the Lucchese family. The names given in the 1960s stuck to present day and you never had the Gambino family called the Gotti crime family or the Genovese being called the Gigante family. Just was a law enforcement name for the families and they used the boss at the time

    Chris said before that he believes sammy was working with the feds long before he flipped...so is that why he spent over a year in jail before cooperating?

    • @jameseproctorpmp
      @jameseproctorpmp Před měsícem +1

      Yes Chris said that. Part of it is that we know that besides Willie Boy Johnson, there was at least one other close confidential informant in the Gotti circle after Gotti became boss. Obviously in the 70s we had a few as well but speiciecislly when Gotti was boss, somebody was giving information besides Willie Boy. There have been questions on who it is and I have heard a couple of names including Gravano and Joe Watts but no evidence I have found to support those rumors, at least between 1986 and 1990. Personally, I think that Gravano made the decision while jailed with Gotti and Locascio but we don’t know for sure
