Former Colombo family crime boss Michael Franzese spoke to VladTV about being the only high ranking official from a major crime family to ever walk away from the life. He explained how the Colombo family started after the Gallo/Profaci war, and he went on to speak about his grandfather being an associate of the family and his father later becoming an underboss. To hear more, including why his father was never a boss, hit the above clip.

@House of Savoy What?
😂
@House of Savoy facts😁😁 I can feel that. Thank you for recognizing history. I'm not trying to debate whose race is better because we are all humans at the end of the day. We all have good and bad attributes about each other. I just hate when society tries to shadow our history like we were nobodies the whole time and that we needed the white man to depend on in our lives. I somewhat admire the Italian style and how organized they were when it came to crime. I also thought that both of our cultures has relatable styles that's far different from other Europeans.

This is a big one. Michael franzese was a big time mobster. Made more money than Gotti!
Did he?
@@suhail1200 Yea. He made a fuck ton of money scaming gas from the government. His racket was much more sophisticated than most of what Gotti had goin on. Also gotta take into account the kind of guy Gotti was. He was a street dude through and through so he relied on traditional mob means to generate money.
@@Timquan. yeah. him and capone lucked out on finding action that brought big pay off. he had a little more finesse than capone imo, having the forsight to think skimming gas and reselling it was a billion dollar idea
nopassa 7 they didn’t skim gas. They sold millions of gallons of gas wholesale to gas stations all along the east coast, collected the tax but never forwarded the tax to the government. They skimmed the tax they collected
@@thirstyjimmy yeah but they did that by stealing gas from the trucks then reselling it at a lower price point then competitors

I know this is a dope interview franzese story is amazing
Just remember that "Mafia" and "Mafioso" refer to Italian-Sicilian organized crime.
They arent the only organized crime, so a person can still be a mobster but not be a mafioso.
The Jewish and Irish mobs from the 1800s and early 1900s come to mind.
Nowadays there are still mobs...mostly Eastern European organized crime and Latin American cartels and crime syndicates.
There are mobsters all over China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines etc... mobsters are everywhere.
@@VodkaSoda
Im talking within the scope of America only.
Mobs have a code of silence and secrecy...and they kill professionally and quickly.
Thats why mobs are not gangs.
And thats why I mentioned Latin Americans and Eastern Europeans, because they come to America but they still carry the "family" structure of a mob along with the codes of honor, silence and secrecy.

This dude is an OG. 1 of the highest earner's in his family at the time. Anyone in there 20's or early 30's wouldnt know anything about the American Mob. Crazy times back then in Brooklyn.
I've followed this Cosa Nostra capo for many years now, he is one of the most respected OG of all times. He is also the only one to have made it out the italian mob without getting killed. A truly amazing deed. Thank God he gave his life to The Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that's the true reason as of why he did not get killed. Just a little upset at the fact that VLAD will be taking his time to post the complete interview.
@@BFloyd-lt8zh bullshit im 23 ive been studying the mob since i was 17 lol. Neo Max Only reason the Colombo's let this guy move like he does is because of the major respect his father has within the mob.
Been waiting on this one
Now we gotta wait for the next part damn just put it all out at once
I would love to know his thoughts on African American rappers being obsessed with the mafia culture/mob life.
GAPOWERade they dont care
All Might yeah... but it would be interesting to know the Mafias take on African American culture being that the Mafia has been loved by so many hip hop acts.It would also be interesting to know the reasons as to why there were never any black members but we know the reason. I just want to hear it 🤷🏽♂️
@@GAPOWERade The reason black men weren't in the mafia is probably not what you'd expect; it has nothing to do with racism, prejudice or discrimination.
I think I heard on a guy speak on that before on how it was approached in the city where he lived.
Somewhere between the 30s or 50s, black men were showing an interest in being apart of the mafia but Italians would never let them in because black men didn't exactly have a track record of loyalty to their own personal families, i.e.; women & children.
And that was suspect because how much loyalty can you have for the family if you can't even demonstrate loyalty to maintaining the nuclear family you've created?
....kind of a "If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything" type of concern.
#JustWhatIveHeard
GAPOWERade Italians don’t like blacks
K. F. No Italians don’t like blacks the same reason why there are no white gangster disciples is the same reason there are no black Italian mob guys they don’t like each other
I was waiting for a flashback of Tekashi's baby mother

VLAD SHOWS ARE WAY BETTER THAN T.V. NO FILTERS, REAL, INTERESTING CONVOS. & TOPICS,
this dude's father actually had suge knight shook
I read the same thing.
I ain't buyin it. How would Suge and Sonny Franzese even cross paths? Sonny wouldn't be dumb enough to even allow himself to have anything to do with Suge
@@communistx8691 I believe it's in the book "Born To The Mob."
@@communistx8691 Suge Knight's mob connections were mainly through his lawyers. David Kenner, an attorney for Death Row Records, represented a number of mobsters in the 1980's and was said to have ties to the Genovese family. Two other lawyers Knight used, based in Las Vegas, were John Spilotro (the late Anthony Spilotro's nephew) and Oscar Goodman (who of course represented Anthony Spilotro and other mobsters.) In addtion, a business manager for Death Row named Steve Cantrock supposedly introduced Knight to Robert Amira, a Las Vegas businessman who had been indicted along with Joseph Colombo Jr. and Alphonse "The Whale" Merolla in a scheme to defraud the Dunes Hotel and Casino. Eventually, through dealings with mobsters supposedly connected to the East Coast, Chicago, and Las Vegas, Knight spent $800,000 to buy an old club called Botany's, who's previous owner had been convicted of helping the Chicago Outfit skim money from the Stardust Hotel and Casino. Knight changed the name of the club to Club 662, which opened in 1994.
This is awesome

King Ado seems like you must of got your white ass kicked by the crips or sum , hopefully you did

Vlad has interviewed plenty of real Gs. You're just a regular law abiding citizen so you can't speak on who isn't a gangster. That lifestyle is foreign to you and everyone else in the comments.
This guy definitely killed someone you can tell from his demeanor
Mitch Baker can u see this stress pass the suit.On his face. His skin.
@House of Savoy oh so they did push drugs they always say that's a moolie activity they don't do that. I wasn't naive, I always knew they had a part in the drug game my old heads I'm talking dudes from the 70s always told me this. The Genovese family in Pittsburgh were doing business with a few brothers I heard they had all the weight back in the day.
@House of Savoy Very true, I know we had some shitty cuz(nipsey alleged killer) that probably fucked up a deal or two with the mob back in the day which led to the racial animosity that the old timers had against us. Just like when they tried to joke with you on the movie goodfellas where the samuel l Jackson character stacks was portrayed on a real black dude that did fucked up the heist because he went and did some bullshit that got him killed. However, they shouldn't feel like that towards us because the same whites that hated us are the same ones that treated your ancestors like shit once they got off the boat into the Americas.
@House of Savoy had a hand in murdering his brother too i believe
@House of Savoy yup that's their right of passage
