So many operations condensed in to one machine, that's incredible!
Indeed it is!
Great video! Very informative. Been fixing these machines for 15 years now. Used to have 5 of them here, now only one. Unimat 1000, a bit bigger than the one you have ;-)
Great beautiful molding machine i use to be a set up man years back great find take care cheers George
Thanks 👍
My favorite machine in your shop...but hard to have a favorite when you have some really awesome tools.
Hahaha yeah it's hard to pick a favorite child
Really neat, great overview of that machine. Stay safe!
Thanks, you too!
l have used this machine for 12 years. I did the repairs and maintenance. weinig brand best in class.
Thanks for watching
That’s an awesome machine great video keep them coming
Thanks! Will do!
I use a 220 width Guilet KXY with four spindles in my shop and those things save you a ton of work! Plust they put out accurately identical pieces even for thousands of feet. Great shop you have there.
Thanks for watching, your shop must be pretty sweet too!
I’ve ran a 6 head moulder CNC for 6 years and I always had the table closer to the 2nd and 3rd heads then you do…well actually with all heads.:..the closer the better the finish product
What do you mean the table?
Wow that is so cool.
Thanks!
Enjoyed.
Thanks for watching
Thats a badass machine. I bet it makes a ton of shavings.
Crazy amount!
very interesting information..for woodworking..this is very useful what else I work in a wood factory..thank you good luck always..👍🙏
Cheers
Looks like the machine has had heavy use but still very well priced.
Yes I think very heavy use! (-:
Yes, i see the moulder also cups the boards. Try again using dry lumber
This lumber was dried to 6%, I would never put green lumber through any of my machines. Will some boards still move, of course wood is natural we just do our best.
Nice
thanks for watching
But he has a good voice. prime target, thanks.
Hey, I love the schooling. I am starting a wood working factory, in the early stages actually. I would love your guidance on how to source the basic machines at a bargain. I can then figure out how to get them shipped to me.
Online auctions seem to be the best option
Fix your digital counters, your setups will be way faster on repeated runs. Do you mill any S4S for people?
Ya we need to get on it. We don't do many orders yet, so it's not too bad
nice machine do you burn the wood after milling
Yes! We burn and then brush. Videos of that coming soon :-)
Great video. Thank you. I just bought one of these myself. Do you mind sharing the consulting gentleman’s name and contact that came and helped you set it up?
Taurus Craco: New & Used Woodworking Machinery Equipment
Why did you switch to a steel wheel on the last spindle? As long as you butt the ends together when feeding the moulder the pieces won’t get stuck
I don't know what you mean, the very last wheels are rubber.
Look again at 11:40 mark, steel wheel at the end.
Feel like I'm back in school and I'm not gonna do very good on this test lol
LOL Ya lot's to know about this machine
We need to buy new roller and 150 mm head screw pls sent parts book
Sorry I did not get a parts book
making moulding is a dieing craft. sadly, it shows a bit in this video. after further viewings, there are oh so many things wrong. blank riding over the index cutter regardless of where infeed table is set. because the cutter is not "indexed" to the bedplate correctly. a holddown shoe past the first top head thats not even close to touching the moulding and is obvious when the next feed wheel pushes the moulding back down to the table, knives in cutterhead are too long and stick out too far just asking for metal fatigue to launch bits of knife steel at you, and NEVER NEVER TURN THE FEED ON BEFORE THE HEADS. one instance of smoked belts or motors or a grenade going off will cure you of that habit.
really is a shame moulder setup guys don't make shit for money. this is the result.
it's funny, you could probably make some money consulting for these guys to help keep the craft alive but you come across like an asshole that no one would want to work with. Unfortunately in my experience it seems to be a common terminal disease among millwrights.
@@phatman808 as a former journeyman moulder setup guy, i concur with the guy calling out mistakes. sorry if it comes off heavy handed, but if you don't call it out, it soon becomes the norm and no one will be left to know any different. THAT is how trades die. woodworking industry in general is turning to shit with all cnc equipment and absolutely clueless engineers that think a list of work instructions and a nobody off the street running the machine is good enough. so people can complain all they want about what you have or in other cases of "gatekeeping" no. its not gatekeeping. its doing shit right.
That’s an old machine now
Weening? I'm pretty sure thats not how you're meant to pronounce Weinig.
haha got it!
I caught that too.
LOL
Been running these machines for 30+ years.
Pronounced "why" nig.
😉
Get a scope to measure your heads, fix your counters, and your first board will be spot on.

@@spappy2k6 No ! Pronounced vi nig. They are German
