  • We visited Northland Forest Products for a Katz Roadshow event. While we were there, they demonstrated one of their six-head molding machines. Feed a stick of raw rough lumber in one end and a finished piece of molding comes out the other end.

1'st bottom head. Next, fence side head. Next, 3rd Off side head. Next, 1'st top head. Next, 2'nd top head.
Next 6'th bottom head, this head is usually a universal head for splitting or doing additional mouldings etc.
I used to run Wadkin FD 6 and 5 cutter headed moulders in the 1970s/80s in the UK. Enjoyed your video. Tony.

I recently changed belt on cutter head similar to this machine but I didn't know how much tension to put on belt. Hope I didn't tighten it too much. Can anyone give me advice?

Is the moulder the same machine as a 4 side planer? We are a small lumber yard interested in making mouldings and planing wood.

Need some assistance in identifying model of weinig molder I bought from used machine dealer. Looks like a 6 head molder. Plate with construction date 1989 and Mach # 143 5305...machine was made in Tauberbischofsheim, West Germany. Any help would be appreciated. I was told I need 2 spindle barrels.

Where I went to college we had a milling machine that could go up to 17000rpm but it was limited to that, so one say my college teacher said when he gets fired he's going to turn off the limiter and turn it to 22000rpm and run like hell as it would literally just vibrate its self to death 😂 this just makes me chuckle
