- Come along with Xander Budnick and me (Tosh) as we head out into the woods looking for wild game. With many seasons open to us, we are on the look out for deer, waterfowl, small game and upland birds.

Enjoyed the video and Xanders version. Hard hunting whitetail without a stand or blind; add in filming and country you don’t know and I think borderline impossible

I had to go back & forth over three times over that section where you saw & shot the grouse in mid flight - wow! You still got it dude! 🙌

Awesome video Tosh nice that you and Xander got out for some hunting & camping sure looked cold and miserable which probably effected the hunt. But hey you both got out to give it a go, had a good time nothing better than enjoying other like minded friends in the bush, Congrates on the Grouse, hope to see you and Xander out again for another hunting , fishing, camping adventure. nice to see the diffrent footage from you both. Hey Tosh! What are the odds? I just subscribed to your channel 2 days ago and then last night I saw you standing in line for a refreshment at the Adam Shoalts presentation in Peterborough. Actually my wife saw you first, tapped me on the shoulder and said "There's Tosh"! I was just about to say hi to you (I was literally 2 feet away) when the bartender called you up to ask what you wanted so I let it go. I've watched most of your videos through her subscription but I decided to add your channel to my profile as well. Her and I follow many similar channels and it's great to see so many Ontario lads out in the wilderness. We bumped into Xander in March at the Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show. Having retired from the Canadian Armed Forces 5 years ago after serving for 28 years, I am now finding more time to get out and road trip, explore, kayak, canoe and camp. Thanks for the awesome vids!

Tosh, I've been watching your videos for the past 2 years and they are always enjoyable. I'm sorry I laughed out loud when I saw you in your hunting outfit tramping through the woods like a herd of buffalo, you just didn't look all that serious as a great white hunter, stick to canoeing camping and white water rafting, and leave the bang bang stick to the professionals.

@@toshselfpropelled in moments like those, sometimes all you need is some salt and some hot grease. I’m sure that meal will be one you remember for a long time. Thats what it’s all about. Also I think they say starvation is the best seasoning! 😂

I think you're packing a little heavy for a canoe trip. Forget the rifle. Wouldn't just a break-open 12 gauge shotgun work for everything. You're only going to get 1 shot anyway. It's easier to carry open and have 2 loads ready to grab. Bird shot for grouse and buck shot for deer. You could have had duck for dinner though they looked a little small.
Interesting perspective. I like the added range and precision of a rifle over buck shot or even a slug.

The Conservation Officer who taught the hunters safety class I took back in the dark ages, when I was 16, taught us to wrap an additional orange vest around or backpacks so we’d be sure to be visible from behind. Kudos to you for doing that and being safe.
You know, it was really hard to hunt back in the dark ages, you couldn’t see anything 😎😆
