So, with each version I watch, Luke gives Chris more "time". Initially, Chris would do just backup and then the final (OMG MOMENT) "Drink a Beer" (w/ that southern rock/soul style). However, I have noticed that in more recent videos such as this one, Chris gets more solo and duet time. I've also noticed what looks like Luke calling Chris in but Chris stands back to let Luke do his thing. Chris penned this song for Luke after Luke lost a family member. I also notice that except for the very end, when specifically asked by Luke to "let them hear it". Chris always steps back to allow Luke to sing the words "drink a beer" by himself. I think, IMHO, that this is Chris's way of saying, "hey, this is your song Luke, I wrote it for you, your voice made it a hit and it has a truly personal meaning to you". That is Chris being the modest good friend, gentleman, etc that he is. That said, I would LOVE to hear Chris belt this out using the same country rock/soul through out the entire song as he does with the final "drink a beer."
I agree with you, but if Chris S. is really a friend of Luke's. then it will be Luke's song, because he lost so much. He lost his only 2 siblings within just a few years. So painful.
I'm going through chemotherapy now stage 2. My doctor's are taking great care of me.its a another journey in my life God is on my side. Love all of you out there.
I lost my dad and the moment I found out, the words of this song rung in my head. He passed away of cancer. We knew what was coming... but you’re never prepared for it. This beer is forever for you dad!
We played this song at a friend of mines funeral. I've never once met a man or friend like him. He was and will always be my brother. Knowing now that Chris wrote this song? That makes it easier somehow.
I wish everybody a Happy Hoilday. I am praying for everybody that has loss a family member close to the hoilday. I know how it feel. I lose my son the day after Christmas and it is very painful.
I just lost one of my best military brothers from the Gulf War Illness and it's complications. Will be leaving in a few days to go be with his wife and daughter. We met in the Fall of 1989 at the Army's Aviation maintenance school for the UH 60 Black Hawk helicopter. Got stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas and even in the same hangar together. Then later on in 1990 in the same flight company, then off to Desert Shield and Storm as crew chiefs and door gunners with our company. Facebook made it for us to reconnect about 11 years ago or so. My wife and I have been down to the Houston, Texas area to see him twice in the last 5 years and have had good times and a very challenging time when the medical issues got much worse. He was only 55 years old. I love you, brother! So long my friend, until me meet again We'll remember you And all the times that we used to... Drink A Beer
"Drink A Beer" Love you Daddy, Love you Sheila, love you Terri, Love you momma, Love you Tommy , Love you Russ MISS YOU TERRIBLY. !!!!❤🍻🍻❤💧💧💧💧💧💧❤😇😇😇😇😇😇
A friend from my childhood committed suicide, and when I found out, this song came to mind! Out of all the people I've known in my life, he was the last person I would have thought would have done something like that! I know the religious people are going to say he committed suicide so god won't take him! One, I don't believe in gods! Two, if there are any gods, shouldn't they be willing to take the most troubled of our society?! The last thing I have to say, is this is the most beautiful tribute to someone that was lost!! I truly, absolutely love this song!! It makes me cry everytime I hear it!! Nicely done, Chris!! 👍🏼❤️
I lost my girlfriend in May 20th of 2018 and the next day we was suppose to go to kings island in Mason ohio and I was going to propose and everything time I hear this song reminds me of her
Because me and her loved Luke Bryan I always sang play it again to her and every time it said a good night kiss she would kiss me on the cheek while singing
That's bcuz Luke is not a great singer... his vocal register is average...but he's eye candy for the ladies and so is popular like Chesney who is also average.

Chris is a class act. I thoroughly enjoy his versions off all of his songs. Better voice then most!

Luke really don’t belong on same stage as Chris if we talking bout singing Chris in a whole different league js
Yes. All of this.

It sure gets real when it's your people.
They are missed.
My dad pass away of cancer too. It is a very sad thing that they go thru

Dink a beer 🍻 🍻 🍻
Hum...I do like Jeeps...1st time listener here. Heart is a thumpin' with the 1st note...waiting on that "Parachute"-AKA: Granny D
Cool as F.
That’s Logan Dressel’s song! 🙏Painter.
It looks like he doesn't know Luke's guitar voicings in the beginning. But he picks it up quickly. Cool.
Singing next to Chris is a dumb idea
Luke Bryan Krystina love Corey muck
I'm taking this fello hunting some time for Alberta moose

It would be a lot better if Luke wasn't in this
Luke goes flat several times ... Chris, never.
Luke is also sharp sometimes. The computer does a pretty good job of singing it on the record, but he's never clear with the runs live.
That's bcuz Luke is not a great singer... his vocal register is average...but he's eye candy for the ladies and so is popular like Chesney who is also average.
Luke is not even close to the same caliber as Chris. No one Chris writes a song for is as good as he is.
Luke can do this song some justice by not singing it.
Tell luke to shut up and let Chris sibg.
Leroy Brown male vocalist of the year...
I was just thinking the same thing!
Holy crap, Luke Bryan butchers this song
Amazing!!!!
