    I loved Trick or Treat, I usually watch it right around Halloween! It's almost become a staple, right next to Hocus Pocus!

    How about: 10 times where the hero and the villain call a truce.

    A.J. Didn’t take out Frank in “Barbarian”. Frank shot himself to avoid arrest for his crimes. Because A.J. Planned to contact the police. Unless I’m remembering it wrong. Which I doubt.

    Deerskin is the definitive "fringe" cinema film. 😅

    All I can say is, rewatch "High Tension" with the twist in mind. I already knew going in and I was able to make more sense of it than I would have not knowing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Weird. I just rewatched Haute Tension two days ago. Either somebody read my mind or I saw into the future.

    Was I the only one who was hoping for a Hostel tie-in when the Thanksgiving post credits scene/tidbit started? An Eli Roth extended universe? Now that'd be cool!

    uh. no. Frank shot himself in the head. He was not killed by AJ. Rofl, y'all have even brought this up before as Frank "choosing his own way out" in a past video.

    The Hostel was so good! It's unfortunate that Paxton met his demise in the sequel's intro... it's too bad, cause I was looking forward seeing Jay Hernandez helm the franchise. It was disappointing...

      Yeah, it's been a little while since I've seen it, but I think they literally have a scene where they meet and fight and discuss the girl they're lusting after, and the conceit of the movie is that it is being told to us from Marie's POV so she knows very well both who the killer is and the alter ego exists xD

    I have a love/tolerate/hate relationship with spiders
    I love Tarantula’s and Wolf Spiders because they are cool AF…
    I tolerate ~most~ types of spiders if they listen to my 2 rules (1. stay in the corner and 2. *DON’T REPEL DOWN DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF MY FACE* )
    I generally hate spiders because they are creepy AF and especially if their main body is bigger than a nickel… yes, including tarantula’s and Wolf Spiders… 😖😖😖
    However, I also find myself drawn to them in some cases, like Transmetal Tarantulus from Transformers Beast Wars, the Spider Gremlin from Gremlins 2, the nightmare creation from Toy Story that Sid made and the spider-legged style “Floor” from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as she’s just so adorable…
    Meanwhile the spider theme of Other Mother from Coraline the movie Arachnophobia and any giant spider in a video game ever *EVER* torment my soul…
    Though the giant steampunk mech-spider from Wild Wild West was conceptually amazing… silly nonsense movie but a fun one. Wouldn’t call it terrible… can’t call it good… though the title song is catchy as heck and the movie definitely took chances and was ambitious…
    But yeah… love/tolerate/hate spiders…
    🕷️

    It's not Stripe in Gremlins 2. Stripe was melted by Gizmo with sunlight. It's very explicit. He's a literal puddle at the end of the movie. Barney freaks out when he burbles his last bubble.

    Seems quite harsh to label Vincent the 'villain'. What he does is awful, but he's seriously unwell & traumatised from seeing awful things that nobody believes him about. Not to excuse him shooting someone - but he doesn't seem villainous, just tragic.

    • @JaredRascher
      @JaredRascher Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah, he's a tragic character that does a tragic thing. He's not an ongoing presence, so it's hard to frame him as the villain.

    • @mrn5257
      @mrn5257 Před 4 měsíci +1

      I agree. I kinda think the writers don't actually watch horror movies. Not only do they use the same movies over and over, but they often don't seem to know what happens in them. High Tension shouldn't have been this list.

  • @themantyf1116
    @themantyf1116 Před 4 měsíci

    I wouldn't count Cabin in the Woods, though, the surviving heroes meet both the Director and the old ones, the fact that some are killed beforehand sounds like a cheat (also, in the movie the Director calls to interrupt the party and notify Marty's survival, so I would argue that she knows about the heroes and watched them).

    Hostel is an okay movie but Hostel 2 was better, in my opinion. Why? Because the first Hostel movie took so long for the movie to movie that when I rewatch it, I remember why I don't like the movie. The first part is so boring that you start to wonder if you're even watching a horror movie. It seriously takes that long for it to kickoff. The second one gets going faster. I'd bet money that it's because a lot of people had complaints about how long it took for the first one to even feel like you were watching a horror movie. Not only does it take a long time to start but the acting (and script) is crap...then the horror FINALLY starts and is over almost as quickly as it started then it ended on a crap note too. Hostel 2 is better in general.

    Too bad those bland miserable neighborhoods from Vivarium are real.

  • @doclewis8927
    @doclewis8927 Před 3 měsíci

    "Vivarium" would've made a much better short film. It's only 97 minutes long but it FEELS like it's twice that length. I realize that that is part of the trope of the movie. Repetitiveness. However, they could've make it FEEL like that without actually doing it. I'm not joking. They drive and drive for several minutes. The get up and do their day over and over and over and over. See how annoyed you were at that sentence. Well, picture that for a whole movie! I'm not joking. Again. I would've liked the movie had it been a short instead of 97 minutes long. When your 97 minute movie FEELS like it is 3 HOURS long and your audience is wondering WHEN your movie is going to movie...then you've lost the plot.
