He gives some valuable insights on sharpening, followed by some drills to try when you hit the ice to get a feel for the advantages. Moving on to a quick look at how easy you're switching steels as well as adjusting the rocker movement with the Radius Inserts.

    I am an adult who started skating about a decade ago. I play low level beer league, mostly with people who played house league or maybe selects growing up.
    These are amazing. I’ve never had a single piece of equipment make such an immediate difference on my skating and, specifically, my confidence on my edges.
    I used the 17 inch rocker bar with the 11 inch stock profile and a 1/2 hollow (down from my normal 5/8).
    The glide is so much easier. I can hear and feel the difference with each stride. Tight turns both ways feel very stable and I have so much more confidence in turning and pivoting with the puck.
    Regarding trusting the edges: one thing I have always struggled with is keeping my head up while stick handling and shooting. Because I now have so much confidence in my edges, I don’t have to think about skating while I have the puck. Instead I can think about what I’m going to do to beat the defender or activate my teammates on the rush or the cycle. I was skating with my head up more than ever.
    I was really trying to push my turns and crossovers. I was almost exaggerating it to see if I would fall. I did not. I can’t describe the level of confidence this had given me, as a skater who has never had the most confidence in my edges or balance.
    These things are a luxury for a beer leaguer, but they come exactly as advertised in this video. The single most impactful piece of equipment I’ve ever bought for my game. You just have to try them. I was used to them after thirty seconds - the difference was apparent almost immediately. Get them and do the drills in this video when you’re warming up - you’ll see the difference immediately.
    He said “you’re going to be surprised”. I was.

    Love my Marsblades! With the inserts, I feel like the "starting" pitch is altered more than anything - at least for me. EG the 14ft insert feels like a more neutral pitch where the 26ft feels like agressive pitch. I'm guessing it's a factor of where I'm sitting my weight when not in motion.

    • @Marsbladeofficial
      @Marsbladeofficial  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes thats partly right if I understood you correctly, the 14 allows you to get that full motion between aggressive and neutral.
      And yes, it affects your starting position too and puts it in a more neutral resting position when not actively pushing forward if that makes sense?

    Can they be sharpened on a sparx machine? It seems like the blade would rock in the holder and not sharpen correctly?

      Got it thanks. I also have true customs. They come with 9.5-10.5 contour. And a 1/32 or 0.5mm tilt forward. The front of steel is 0.5mm shorter than heel. Should I get marsblade steel to match? Or does the rocking motion take care of the forward tilt? Thx

    • @Marsbladeofficial
      @Marsbladeofficial  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@nicd5439 I would go with the 9.5/10.5 standard pitched to start. My feel is many players that have had more aggressively pitched standard holders like ours without pitching it. Then if you feel a need to pitch it I'd do that later on.🙂👍 //Per

      I've had i2's for a couple seasons now and always sharpened with a Sparx. No problems at all, the Sparx holds the blade stationary on the sides while the grinding wheel moves along the bottom edge.

    For blade profiling, do you recommend a neutral pitch if using the I2 holders?

    • @Marsbladeofficial

      We recommend you start off with your regular profile as you convert to the i2. 👌You'll then be able to trial the different radius inserts to find which level of rocker you prefer! 🏒

      @@Marsbladeofficial Thanks. I have been using the standard prosharp Ellipse profile, which I believe comes with a 20mm forward pitch. So you would recommend not making any changes to the pitch if switching to I2 holder, correct?

    Can I use these holders on my Vapor 4.0 skates?

    • @Marsbladeofficial
      @Marsbladeofficial  Před 22 dny +1

      @@Marsbladeofficial these are the older Vapors. So the blades do not pop out. What would you recommend for the holder size? My skate size is a 7.5 senior. Additionally would I need to buy 2 of them?

    • @Marsbladeofficial
      @Marsbladeofficial  Před 21 dnem

      @@rishipathak9394You can mount our holders on the older Vapors - no need for the newer quick release holders as all this is replaced with our holder, which comes with its own quick release 🙌 Regarding size it would be best to check the size of the current holder (this is usually displayed on the holder by the heel). The I2 is sold as a set so you order one set for one pair of skates!
      Let me know if you are unable to find the size on your holder, skate size 7.5D would usually have holders close to size 263 and 7.5EE would usually have holder in size 272.
