Did you know that Bob Dylan wrote a song to specifically mock John Lennon?
In this video we will explore the backstory behind Bob Dylan's surprising mockery of John Lennon . Despite Lennon's admiration for Dylan, tensions arose when Dylan felt The Beatles were imitating his musical style. Dylan's frustration with this perceived imitation led to public jabs, including his famous remark: "I never asked for your crutch, now, don't ask for mine." We will explore how Dylan's album "Blonde on Blonde" featured a track that cleverly mocked Lennon's "Norwegian Wood," showcasing Dylan's wit and commentary on The Beatles' musical style.

Sorry but the song Hallelujah was written and song by Leonard Cohen, and Bob Dylan just covered it. What was your source?

Was also about to point this out. My problem is after someone makes a error like this I lose interest in that individual's ability to tell me what's going on.

Yes, Lennon played harp before hearing Dylan. Bob went electric because he wanted to be in a band like the Beatles. I. Love them both. This item is rubbish

Let's correct the rubbish so it doesn't get to be folklore of false narrative -
Lennon started playing the harmonica while on Tour in 1962 with Bruce Channel (Hey! Baby) long before he knew Dylan's name, and gave it up quickly because he thought it was "hooky".
The Beatles are all class, and didn't write a song about Dylan when he went electric and say "you don't want anyone using your crutch, don't use ours"??? No. If The Beatles wrote a song about everyone who "copied their style" they'd still be writing the songs today.
Did Harrison write a song about Dylan after he blatantly copied Harrison's (It's What You Value) when writing (Gonna Change My Way of Thinking)? No. Harrison is all class.
Dylan needs to humble himself - he had a chance to be proud of his influence to the biggest name in rock n roll at the time, instead he played the victim.
Here is a Dylan quote on The Beatles in the early years.
"The Beatles were doing things nobody was doing. Their chords were outrageous just outrageous and their harmonies made it all valid. I knew they were pointing the direction of where music had to go."
He was "paranoid" because he knew The Beatles could be him, better than him.

    Dylan? The 'Hallelujah' composer???
Why would you go out of your way to make this reference as a fleeting introductory aside...
Thinking it would give your piece a connoisseur's credibility - If you didn't have a clue what the fuck you were talking about?
And couldn't even be bothered to look it up in order to PRETEND that you did?
    Leonard Cohen, FFS.
The OTHER voice of a generation - a Canadian one.

Worst imitation of Dylan by Lennon was 'nowhere man', lyrics he never would have written without having heard Dylans Ballad of a thin man. Later on Lennon became himself a great writer with his own themes

Bob Dylan did not write "Hallelujah." Leonard Cohen did. The song this video failed to mention that mocked "Norwegian Wood" was "Fourth Time Around." This video could have been sooo much better with a little bit of specific and accurate information and perhaps some clips from the two songs.

Love me do. Full on harmonica. Not Dylan inspired. Perhaps Dylan was immitating Lennon ? If we are going to spout rubbish. I think Norwegian Wood is Dylan inspired same as Hide Your Love away. Personally I find Lennon was leagues ahead as a song writer. He could have dropped the mic after writing Strawberry Fields alone. Song writing influences in some areas yes I agree. Harmonica use? Dont agree. Hallelujah is Leonard Cohen. Fourth Time Around is one of my favorite out of the 4 songs i like by Dylan. He was jokingly rippjng off the Beatles? Now makes sense why I like it!

Whoever made this piece doesn't have ANY of his facts right.
Bob Dylan didn't write "Hallelujah", Leonard Cohen did ...and he released it in 84, about 4 years after John Lennon's death.
Furthermore Dylan and the Beatles liked each other, with Dylan ofter getting credit in the folklore surrounding both groups for introducing the Beatles to the pharmaceuticals that enhanced the second half of their career.

Hallelujah composer? Leonard Cohen, thank you....
