this is what i always thought, like learning latin would make a wizard so stupidly powerful cause they could easily craft new spells as the moment calls for it, cause its not like new spells are impossible to make, i mean Herominy made a spell for Harry in like two nights during the goblet of fire in antisipatian for the maze ("point me" points the wand northward) but then again that wasnt in latin soo...
What about spells in countries with languages unrelated to Latin? China, Japan, India . . .

@@artimuos903 Correct me if I'm wrong, this might just be a book thing, but I'm pretty sure they told harry in the movie that dumbledore regularly paced around his office. It might just be a book thing though. Also in the books, Harry doesn't see pettigrew on the map.
I've seen a theory around with supporting evidence from the books that only the marauders could see each other on the map, in the book Harry never saw Peter Pettigrew on the map so the films got that wrong. Lupin did and he was marauder and it makes sense that nobody could see them on it in case someone found the map and therefore no one could use it to find them.

The biggest problem is that the movies at least, seem to really go out of their way to show all Slytherins as evil, or at least just jerks. Though honestly the books weren't THAT much better in that regard, but at least a little better.

The thing is, when you have eight perfect films, by default, one of them has to be not as perfect as the rest. If I were to list each movie from best to worst, Chamber of Secrets would probably be pretty low, only because one of them has to take the spot.

My question: Why didn't Fred and George question Ron about the grown man sleeping with him EVERY NIGHT on the Marauder's Map?
because the map doesn't show Animagus unless you know about it. So they can see Professor McGonagall for example because they know she can transform into a cat but they can't see Peter.
I'm sure they weren't looking for where Ron was every night. It's the twins. Why would they be looking at the map to see where Ron was and keep tabs on him? Do they care: No. Is that what they used the map for: No. There are a lot of people at Hogwarts and the only ones Fred and George were concerned about were the ones that would catch them sneaking around Hogwarts doing stuff they weren't supposed to. They would be looking for where Filch was for example.
Harry didn't see him on the maps in the books...
