Now the tools are easily found to be able to adjust or take jets out. When I bought my saw about 18yrs ago the tools were not readily available. The craftsman repair facility personnel told me they made them that way specifically so that the owners would have to bring them into the shop to have any adjustments. I live in the mountains at 7200ft and my saw just would not run properly with the factor settings. I pulled the carburetor out and cut a single slot groove in the top of the jets so that I could adjust them with a small straight blade screw driver. I was able to adjust them and the saw ran perfectly. Depending on the elevation where the saws were set up back then I could understand why my saw would not run at it's current elevation with the factory settings. Very good video. Thank you very much.
Awesome video Thanks for really getting into detail and showing everything you done . Will definitely help me when I rebuild my carburetor on my craftsman chainsaw. Keep up the Great videos Sir.
You're very welcome, glad it helped. And thank you for watching and commenting Jeff.
@@shabear1000 just want to double check with ya on each side of the carb does the gaskets go on before the diagram pieces?
Hi great video Sir.
I bought an 18" 40cc Craftsman for $50 with the case and the next day I used it to cut about a cord of slab wood. Man I am happy!
Loss of feeling in fingers could be due to carb cleaner. I got some on me today and felt the loss right away, and washed with soap and water.
Really, I’ve used all my 73 years and no problems yet and still using it 5 days a week in shop
Wow great work ,thanks for sharing
Thanks big man. And thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.
At the price I pay for 100 at a time I just replace them anyway and not worry about it coming back
These poulan saws are easy to fix and it’s AllWAYS fuel lines and metering diaphragm
For sure. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week.
Thanks for your Info👍
You bet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.
Great job
Thanks Happy.
Good video. Thank you. Was the chain brake dragging a bit? Not criticizing but I've had that issue on a couple of them. Thanks again.
I thought so to but i dont think so. Seems to be free. I think the cab needs some adjustment. Seems a little boggy.
Hi, when you replaced the top cover, had you put the foam filter in the air box? To improve the air filter, I wrap the foam in an off cut of discarded ladies nylon stockings. Helps reduce amount of debris pulled into pores of foam.
On some similar saws, found the clutch cover holes are often a loose fit. Consequently the clutch drum scrubs on brake band and wears it thin. Then fails when needed. Sorted by putting a thin sleeve over the bar studs.
Husqvarna group products are marketed under range of brands, Poulan McCulloch Partner Craftsman Jonsered, Redmax? maybe more. Homelite now owned by Ryobi. Dolmar by Makita. Shindaiwa by Echo. Hope info of interest. Be safe.
Flame arrestor.
Great Video!! What is the tool called to adjust the carb. and where can i get one?
Thanks. It's called 2 Cycle Carburetor Adjustment Tools. I got mine on ebay but you can get them through Amazon and most harbor freight stores or parts stores Carry them too. I think I gave about $10 or $11 dollars for mine. Get the kit and it will have any one you need for any 2 stroke engine.
No i super👍😀👍
Sthil chingsaw block garam piston start problam?
I noticed that the plastic grommet on the L adjustment after cleaning was stuck in the carburetor. So if you are still having problems with it that's your problem.
P.s your chain was still too tight and you didn't check the bar oil...
Its fine. And yes i did check the bar oil. Nothing was stuck. Just because i didn't show something in the video doesn't mean i didn't do it.
There is no reason the average male can’t rebuild these carbs and parts are cheap, just like the fuel hose and replacement carbs
There good home owners saws
Just dump the fuel and put a bottle of oil in tank and purge thru carb
Next year drain and fill with real gas and oil mix in a can
