You have to release the throttle from the high idle which was set when you pulled the choke out since your not at ideal unless you first squeeze the throttle and release it then you can adjust the ideal mixture screw.
Thanks.. Mine is a 42 cc Craftsman engine.. This process worked, but I put in a new carburetor, and gas lines and filter.. I am surprised, seeing I think I have a different model then you in your video..
Hy Steve, I have an old model similar to yours, and I am struggling to find an engine starter cover. Can you give me tips where I can find to buy one? Thank you Regards Ionut
I have a 16in. 36cc craftsman saw it will run if I choke it but as soon as I touch the throttle it dies or if you push the choke in. Do I need to do the same thing that you did in this video to adjust the idle to be able to use the throttle? Thanks Bryan
Mine was doing the same thing it ended up being that I used the ethanol fuel with two stroke manually added in. Fix: use only non ethanol fuel, the pumps that have one hose on the pumps still have ethanol in them for the first 5 gallons or so fuel pumped out. Find a ethanol free gas station buy fuel for your small gas engines there. :-D
The high jet is too open which puts too much fuel in the air/fuel mixture in the carb and chasing it to bog down. Try tuning the H screw in clockwise, closing the jet and allowing less fuel into the mixture
Also search CZcams for the video about how a two stroke carburetor works. I can’t think of the name of the channel but the guy is British and has a lot Of helpful carb videos
Started by adjusting Idle then reset and said you now were adjusting "L" What did I miss? Like to see how to adjust "L" and "H" after "I" adjustment for total fix.
you prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last days =)
Little overboard on safety, OK way overboard! I'll go watch some other persons video rather than listen to you talk about how that chainsaw was gonna kill me cut my arm off or whatever the hell your problem is. See you later grandma
Thank you for the tip on how to tune a chainsaw. I finally got my Craftman chainsaw in working order after about 15 years of dormancy in the garage.
Steve Harris your the man. I hope you made more how to vids on Craftsman saws. 🇺🇸

You need to back out the throttle stop and use "L" to set the idle. Thriottle stop should be like ½ turn in from its full closed position.
Nice video explanation. Maybe I missed it, but what setting did you start with the "H"?
That's my cuestión too
When was these saws made I got one on a trade and curious to see when they was made
What is the reference point after you close high and low to adjust the tuning on carb

Yes Bryan sounds like a good cleaning and tune/adjust the carb.

Low side, high side, idle. High side controls overall fuel, low side controls off idle fuel. Basically the same as a rc car.

Recoil, with the pull handle? Poulan's and Husqvarna 51's on down work.
love how there was not a single shot of the actual engine
Your

Like your videos but but please stop talking to people like they are Fifth or Sixth graders, Although some people its all they can understand.
I like you mustache / beard. Very sexy!
Ill second the hearing protection.
The ringing in my ears is horrible. All from no protection in an individual environment for 40 years.
It’s like you are talking to a 10 yr old...
Oh that was bs
Annoying
Just get to the point.
You don't need to be goofy
talks way too much. waste of time looking at this video
