There are around 40 Islands in the North sea and the Baltic sea. Each one of them has a unique charakter. One third of german landscape is forrest. Our Forrest are holy to us germans.
Germany has 50 Islands
@@Capt.-Nemo Germany has hundreds of islands but most are not really open to visit on those Hallig(en) is space for one house at most. Rügen is the Largest by far. Also there are dozens of river Islands.
I live in Schleswig-Holstein, that's near the Danish border and work on a Island called Sylt. We have sea on both sides, the smallest distance between are only 33 km , that's 20,5 miles
If you visit germany , don´t worry not to speak german . Most of the people speak english . We learn it at school . I visit middleschool from 1974-1980 and learnd english for about 6 years from 5 to 10 grade .
only valid for western germany, the eastern parts usually learned russian until the fall of the DDR (or GDR if you prefer the english name)
@@Otte74 "learned" past tense - if "until the fall of the DDR" wasn't clear enough (which also is 30 years in the past)
7:10 Helicopter rides are extremely rare in Germany. It's not a common thing to take a helicopter ride for sightseeing.
There is one company that does them on Rügen though, if I'm not mistaken. I remember driving past a parked helicopter and advertisment for helicopter rides. Probably super expensive though...
@@michaausleipzig Oh, I didn't know that...
You should react to the Bodensee, especially Mainau island!!
No worries about insects. Seasonally, wasps can be a nuisance, especially if you attract them with sugar or meat, or regionally mosquitoes if there are small, shallow bodies of water. Hornets are rare and not very aggressive, in very rural areas flies can also be annoying and that's about it. Dangerous insects are extremely rare here, unless you are allergic to some poisons.
Be carefull. The german seaside ist cold. Ist not careabian Islands. Its nice and summers can be hot, but seacoasts here are windy and sometimes cold. Beach chairs weren't invented for fun. They are precisely tailored to these environmental conditions.
Helgoland is very dear to my heart. Imagine Ayers Rock but German on water.
Of course the signs are in German. What have you expected; signs in Russian? 😁
"All that green, I don't trust it!" said the girl in the green shirt...😂😂

Most of the german islands are quite near to the cost and some are connected with a bridge to the rest of the country. Rügen is reachable over the Rügendamm or the Rügenbridge by car and train. The farest island from the german coast and only reachable by ship and plane is Helgoland (The red rock). In WW II it was military used by the Nazis and after the war the britains tried to blew it away with the biggest non-nuclear explosion that was ever caused.
It's still there and a paradise for seabirds !
Prora in Binz , with the Kraft durch Freude seabath was mande to hold 20 000 people, it is 2,5 km long i think it was the longest builing ever originaly it was 4,5 km long, hitlers idea of greatness : bigger than enything
You can add boars and beavers to the list of animals you can encounter.
You might think the boar would f you up but beware of the beaver
Well yes - the most dangerous animals in Germany as all over the world are insects. Far beyond those you might encounter boar. Wolves or such are extremely rare.
Germans always come to the danish beaches 😂 we have some of the best! 🇩🇰😊
