Lady this lady that! If we start looking it at that angel, then we'll say she was co-piloted by a man and the plane was made by man. Let's learn to normalise professionalism, you can try to argue that women get less opportunities than men so this is special, but again you wouldn't consider that aviation education is expensive hence it's the well off who can afford. The first line of this comment was nothing but extreme narcissism.

The legendary Ruth Karauri...since demonstrating her flying skills during Storm Eunice , and a great ambassador for Kenya Airways.
Such an experience and determination but the management and government are bullshit. They never appreciate the staff but worship few individuals who have interest in the airline. The top bosses and those who have leased planes there enjoy outmost luxury at the cost of poor junior workers. Takataka ya nchi. Kenya is run like a cigarette kiosk so sad

I am late to respond to this comment, but it is very sad to spew such venom and hatred towards the government and KQ management. Pilot Karauri herself expresses great appreciation of the simulation training she has received from KQ. Pilot Karauri (the lady), remains the champion of the skies.

And yet about 80% of other people whose job it is failed to land that day. Captain Ruth is, among other things, a woman in a male dominated industry and she is exceptional. She is an inspiration to many of us and especially young black girls like my niece.
