- We sure do have a lot of fun with these Best 308 Ammo 100-yard grouping videos! Every rifle is different, so you need to test yours out for yourself, but we like showing you how differently the same gun can respond to different off-the-shelf 308 rounds.
If you haven't yet, watch
Part 1 - • The Best 308 Ammo [10...
Part 2 - • Best 308 Round (Part 2...
and Part 3 - • Best 308 Ammo (PART 3)...
We keep hearing from y'all about what you want to see us shoot next, so we took 5 new rounds of 308 ammo to see how they did with 100 yard accuracy. You can fast forward to the time stamps below if you're interested in seeing a particular 308 round.
Start: 00:00
Remington Core Lokt 150 grain: 1:04
Remington Core Lokt Tipped 150 grain: 2:18
Barnes Vor-Tx 150 grain: 3:13
Nosler Ballistic Tip 150 grain: 4:15
PMC Bronze FMJ: 5:19
Summary: 6:04
The best 308 ammo definitely depends on what your gun likes and shoots best and what your shooting purpose is. The best 308 round for target shooting is different than the best 308 ammo for hunting, and the best 308 round for hunting also depends on how the bullet reacts when it hits the target, but hopefully this will help some.

*All opinions are mine. I am not paid for any of these reviews. I purchased all of this ammunition. - Sport
Backfire and Ron Spoomer did a recent video about mixing traditional lead core bullets and copper bullets like the barnes. Ron had recommended cleaning the barrel back to bare metal before shooting a copper bullet or they won't shoot as good. Backfire tried it in his gun and shot the copper bullets much better. Something about mixing the copper bullets and guilding metal from the lead core bullets did not work well.
👍🏻 someone else just mentioned that. Thanks for the info!
I like the Nosler Ballistic Tips, more for the bullet than the group. I hand load the 165 grain and it has never let me down. Great series and great information, thanks guys, be well.
Ahh. Okay. Thanks!
Try the 130s man.. 🔥
My money is on remington corelokt tipped
They did MUCH better than the old school. ESPECIALLY the 180 grain.
Thank You. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Keep on keepin' on with your previous go to round. Happy Shooting & Hunting when it is time!
Sure seems that way, doesn't it?!?
Thank you for doing this!
Thank YOU for watching!
Fantastic videos keep up the great work
Thank you so much! We appreciate it. Keep watching 😊 And share with your friends.
I’ve gotten the best group with federal premiums 165 about 1 MOA. Personally always stick to what works and what your rifle is dialed in for.
Great videos, watched them all numerous times. Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!
I vote for the Norma Whitetail.
Those are high in the list!!!
Norma .308 150gr increased velocity (elk box) is the best SP round for deer hunting!
That’s what I just used! Got a nice opening day buck!
@@ReviewThisThing Way to go!! Glad they worked...but I bet it was the shooter more than anything !
Haha. Thanks! That’s what I like to think 😁😉
Thank god there's no part 5...I was supposed to be in bed an hour ago. Great videos!
Haha. That’s awesome! Thank you. Stay tuned 😊😊
I'd stay with the Norma. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks! And thank you for watching!
Good video ,really good work
Thank you! I appreciate it!
I hunted with the Core lokt tipped out of my 270. Very accurate in my Winchester xpr. Devastating on the whitetail I shot. Blew up the heart, tipped forward, never took a step.
Nice! That’s great!
I shot the Bronze today in my new .308 Cascade and got the same group that you got. I was indoors. I’ve got a cheap eBay muzzle brake. Love the rifle! It barely kicks!
That’s good to know. Thank you! I’m glad you love yours as much as I do. It’s such a great rifle!
Your input has really helped me a lot.
I’m so glad to hear that! Thank you!
Great trigger control. Nice video, 👍🏻👊🏻
Hey! Thank you for watching! And, thank you!
@ReviewThisThing No problem & I replied to your email.
Have a Great Week~!
Great! I’ll check it out. Thank you!
You could use the Barnes because they are Coper , they don’t fragment , they retain more than 95 percent of their bullet weight , they mushroom beautifully , and they are not lead 👍🏻
I have watched all of your test videos and I was wondering if your riffle has a 1-11 twist rate ?
Great videos thanks for creating them 👍🏻
Thank you so much for watching! That means so much. It actually has a 1:10 twist rate per the manufacturer.
Thank you for the Barnes info. We’ve definitely been looking a lot into bullets and bullet types lately!
after all said and done,,,,federal soft point and federal fusion (out of all 4 videos),,,where best value for the rounds,,,with same if not touch tighter groups,,,and aprox 10$--$20 cheaper per box (Canada,,British Columbia),,i was able too harvest 2 whitetail,,and 1 mulie this year with the federal blue box (soft point) and the expansion was incredable,,,,,,,54
yards,,,,123 yards 210 yards(on the mulie),,,and a black bear which was only 19 yards,,,but amazingly,,,,,the expansion on bear at 19 yards was just as impressive as expansion of 210 yard mulie,,,,,,,,,LOVIN these 308 vids,,,keep up the kickazz work
Thank you so much for watching! And for your input! I’ve always heard great things about those Fusions. I may have to give them another try.
My particular rifle likes to eat the 180 gr Remington core loct. Great video.
Thank you. I love how different the results can be!
Federal Premium Sierra Match King BTHP 168 is a .5 moa tack driver.
I liked the Norma results in your previous video.
Thanks so much. Those Norma keep performing. I’ll check out the Sierras.
I’ve hunted with all of those..even the pmc, I don’t have a muzzle break of any kind, I’ve always zeroed my scope for what ever I was shooting. I’m not convinced of your platform’s accuracy .. but I enjoyed your video
We appreciate you watching!
My Cascade 308 gets here tomorrow. I am starting reloading. s0 will be rolling my own. Topping with a Vortex Diamondback.
Yes! You’re going to love it!
Thank you so much for PMC Bronze test from an entry-level shooter! I spent 2 visits to the range with this ammo in my Rem 700. I was consistently getting 2+ MOA groups at 100 yards using bench rest bags which made me seriously question my aptitude. Going to try FGM .308 Sierra Match King 168 now!
Absolutely! The first time I shot them I felt the same way. Let me know how the new round does!
FGM .308 168 gr worked like a charm! All groups within 1 MOA now! Also for the lulz, I tried Igman .308 147 gr FMJ which produced 2-3 MOA on average. There are many good reviews for Prvi Partizan Match .308 155 Grain, so I will buy and try those next time at the range. I aim to find optimal economy precision rounds for entry-level training, but it looks like "economy" and "precision" are mutually exclusive properties.
Hey! I just recognized the Super Thanks! You're awesome! I really appreciate it!
awesome video
Thank you Ms. K!
Move your caldwell rest back behind the sling mount an inch or more. This will element chance of sling mount hitting bag and moving shots off.
Keep them coming
Very good point. Thank you! We sure plan to!!!
@@ReviewThisThing I have a CVA Cascade chambered in 300 Win. Mag. I use the 150gr. Winchester Deer Season XP amo.
With that amo on most occasions at 100yards I can get a 3 shot group that all 3 rounds are touching.
Might want to give that amo a try.
@bryanhale6018 that’s one we haven’t tried. Thanks. How does it do in deer?
I have a new CVA Cascade short barrel in .308. I Just tried one box of ammo so far. I've used this ammo in other bolt guns and always had good results. Federal Premium 165 gr Barnes TSX. They shoot great with several sub moa groups shot and and average of .70 inch 3 shot groups. I can't wait to try some others. This gun is definitely a shooter.
BOOM! That’s awesome!
Keep up the great work. Love your videos
@frankcesaro6778 thank you so much. I appreciate you watching and commenting!!!
My new Tikka .308 shot a .875 group with those same Nosler's on the first range trip. I was very happy for factory ammo. Now I need to test it on a deer.
Which Tikka did you get? That sounds awesome! Let us know when you get one.
@@ReviewThisThing it's a T3x Roughtech.
Nice!
I’ve been shooting the Remington Ballistic tips in 165 grains and I’ve had pretty good groups with them hoping you might try them out and see how they do for you
We may have to see if we can find some of those. Thank you!
I like the hornady outfitter. Just seems to work in my 700 it’s a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for
They’re all pricey now! Shoot what you like and what your gun likes, right?!
I load my own ammo, and I like anything by Nosler. Out of the choices that you have there I would use the Nosler ballistic tips. But, the Nosler or combine technologies, ballistic, silver tips I like even better. Nosler partition, though maybe not the most accurate bullet ever made they are accurate, but they all the best hunting bullets ever made. Check them out.
Thank you. I will!
I hunt with American Whitetail 150 grain and get 1" groups at the range and put deer and hogs in the freezer. After watching the Federal Fusion 150 & 165 grain performance, I might give Fusion a shot or two.
I’ve been impressed twitch the Fusions for sure.
great vids
Thank you. I appreciate you!
For many reasons, I have switched to either copper or bonded bullets, so I suggest Barnes. Go watch a video from a few weeks ago that the meat eater channel did. They shoot at different distances into gelatin with a scapula bone in the front of it. I will probably never hunt with basic cup and core again.
Oh wow. Okay. I’ll check it out for sure.
Stay with the Norma. Harder to find but Bergara barrels love them
They definitely sure seem to!
Watched all 4 parts. I have a new Browning X Bolt in .308 my gun loves the Federal Fusion 165 as well as the Norma Whitetail. Im at .5 moa at 100yards.
Nice! Both of those seem to be pretty consistent rounds. Thanks for watching!
You’re very welcome. I’m looking forward to part 5!!
The Rem 180 work good in my gun. But for hunting I like the Fusion 165gr. I had a bipod on my rifel but gave it away. My groups shrunk by just useing a good leather shot bag for a rest, and one under the but stock to steady my aim.
What gun are you using?
@@ReviewThisThing
A Heavy barele Savage 10LE in 308.
Ah. I think it might be the same thing. Thanks.
I love the Nosler Ballistic tip 150gr my deers just drop or walk 10 yards the most
Heck yeah!
There are a few new rounds out that I noticed at the stores, maybe you can do a part 4 sometime (lol). Two that caught my eye were Winchester "deer season XP" and "deer season XP copper". You shot a few Nosler rounds, I wonder if those were the Nosler "Trophy Grade"?
They’re killing me with all this availability! I don’t think the Nosler we shirt were trophy grade, just ballistic tip. And, you’re right - we haven’t tried any XP’s yet. So many choices!
You've nearly put as much into ammunition as the rifle is worth at this point!! I have the same rifle in 308 win and have been exceptionally disappointed with it. I will be replacing before the fall with another Tikka T3x, 100%. Good luck and I hope you can find one that it will tolerate!
Let me know what you think of the Tikka. I’ve heard great things. I still think you should reach out to customer service. I’m sure they would take a look at the rifle and see if there may be something going on with it and make it right.
Been using Hornady for 25 years. Last two years they have gone to crap. Two of the best bullets they have in loaded ammo was Interbond and GMX. Both my 30-06 and 308, 150 and 165 grain are tack drivers. The only 150.grain bullet in 30-06 is crappy SST and interlock. I think the same goes for the 308. Now I have to spend a small fortune testing ammo again
That’s unfortunate to hear. Maybe they’ll get some things figured out and make some improvements. Thanks for the info!
I've had very similar results with my Criterion barreled 308. It will only hold 1.5" groups with the 178's, 2" with 195s. Out of all the bullets that I've tried so far it liked the Hornady CX and Barnes TTSX bullets the best. For target shooting the 168 Sierra MatchKing shoots 1/2" groups. I'll have to test some of those Norma rounds, they looked promising 👍
If you do, let me know what you find out!
For what it's worth, I shoot the 168 ttsx Barnes bullet in my 308, and it killed a nice mulley last year and dropped a buck where he stood last week.
Excellent! Those are sweet rounds for sure.
Good ole core-lok 150 tikka 308 works for me.
Very nice! The tried and true!
Yes part 4 !!! Thank you.
Which one would I shoot ? I'll stick with my Tipped Trophy Bonded Bear Claw
Good luck!
That round looks like QUITE the load. It ought to take care of whatever you want!
@@ReviewThisThing I've had success with both weights. The 165 here in Arkansas have taken several white tails and one bear. I've taken a few Muleys in Co. with the 180's. I do my own reloading. I would LOVE to try some of the Terminal Accent rounds. Y'all have a Splentastic day !
You, too! Yeah. It said they are discontinued now.
I have been useing a Savage 110FCP LE heavy barele with a Zeiss 3X18X50 scope. This rifele is pure poison. It just puts 165gr Fuision ammo 1/2 moa.
I have just picked up an old beautfull Ruger M77 with laminated stock & heavy barele with a 6.5 X 20 X40 Lupold scope. The original box of ammo was with it with 7rds missing. The bore is clean & shiny like new. I hope this rifele shoots as well as my Savage.
I enjoy your videos. You shoot very well . Thanks.
Oh ya I zero at 200yds. With a little Kentucky windage I should be able to hit at 300yds. I will see.
Man, that sounds like quite a setup!!! I appreciate you. Thank you for watching!
I use the 130 grain Barnes Ttsx.
Hog and Blacktail drop on the spot 100% of the time and they go right trhough.
NIIICE! They’ve shot great for us!
Barnes. The performance is great at short range and long.
I feel like I need to shoot those some more for sure! Thank you.
I like the all copper bullets for anything i intend to eat.
Stay tuned then! An all non-lead edition is coming soon!
My choice is Barnes due to no lead in meat, great performance and full penetration.. Though i wouldn't scoff at getting one with any of those other bullets. Their all bonded, so the lead intrusion wont be much if there is any. The only ones i wont hunt with are the non bonded cup and core exremely cheap ones, unless its my only option, or ballistic thin walled hunting bullets designed for varmints. The one you need to choose is the one YOU feel most confident in using and trust. Have a great day RTT.
Thanks so much! Hoping I get the chance to take a shot!
@@ReviewThisThing Me To!!!
👍🏻👍🏻
Like you I am also a big fan of the 308 Winchester. I have more rifles chambered for it than any other. I am planning a trip to my local range the week before Thanksgiving to perform the same experiments you did here with my Howa 1500 and my Bergara B14 Hunter Wilderness both in 308 Win. The ammo I will test is Winchester Super X 150 grain, Hornady American Whitetail 165 grain, Federal Fusion 165 grain, and Norma Whitetail 150 grain. I also have Winchester Super X 180 grain, Remington Core-Lokt PSP 180 grain and Sako Super Hammerhead 180 grain but I feel these are a bit much for the size of the deer in my area so I will reserve them for when I go after bigger game out west or in the northeast US. To answer the question you asked the viewers about which round we would recommend on your hunt I would say outside of the PMC all of them are good choices in terms of precision. So maybe just go with whatever is the lowest cost per box and is most available at the moment.
Good luck, Juan. Come back and let me know what your results are. Thanks for the advice!
@@ReviewThisThing I will be sure to report back my results. While no two rifles are exactly the same in terms of what ammo they like sometimes it's helpful to know about really awful standouts like the PMC you tested. I had a similar experience with Browning BXC in 270 Win last year. It shoots terrible out of most of my 270 Win rifles. So it's not a round I would recommend to others.
I’m definitely interested to see how the Normas do out of yours.
So I was at the range today and tested the ammo I mentioned earlier on my two 308 rifles. The Norma Whitetail 150 grain grouped the best in both the Howa 1500 and the Bergara B14 Hunter Wilderness with both grouping at close to 1 moa. A close second was Hornady American Whitetail 165 grain with about 1.5 moa. The Winchester Super X and Federal Fusion did not fare so well in my testing. I have to admit Norma makes a good product.
They are DEFINITELY accurate! That’s for sure.
I have a Tikka T3 super light 308 and it loves cheap corelockt 150 grain. No reason to change. It stops any and all deer that come my way. People been using plain old lead for a long time for a reason. JS
That’s a fact! I’m definitely a fan of cheap when it works!!!
I would go with the tipped core lokt 150 grain for 2 reasons . First you can find them almost anywhere. 2nd They are much more consistent now sense vista took over the company! Vista also owns federal ammo as well! Remington and Federal , both are sammi complied! The Last I checked nosler, norma, and barns ammo are not. The tipped core lokt also has a higher bc than the original core lokts if you need to make a longer shot!
Thank you!
You might try the 168 gr hornady black amax. My bergara wilderness ridge 308 loves them....they are extremely lethal on deer too
Okay! I’ll take a look. Thank you.
You're welcome. My bergara shoots them at just over an inch 5 shot groups at 100. There's been 4 deer shot w them so far this year and none made it past 80 yards. Blood trails a blind man can follow
Oh wow! Okay!
Please try some 150grain Winchester Deer Season XP! I think you will be impressed. They shoot great out of all calibers Ive tried. They also kill deer like Thor"s hammer!
Okay! We’ve shot them out of our 6.5 CM. We’ll have to add them to the list!
Merci pour ce vidéo
You’re very welcome!
Go with the *Barnes* ... Those 150's are made specifically for use in 308 and 30-06 ammunition. They're function window is wider than with a regular 150 you load as a component. All that to say it is more like an LRX (long range X bullet) than not.
I definitely need to shoot that one some more! I liked it a lot.
@@ReviewThisThing shoot a deer with it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Okay!
My Hells Canyon loves the Coreloks and my Sig Cross loves the Barnes.
Nice! I think figuring this stuff out is fun. I never realized it could matter that much!
Hornady Custom 150gr sst! But don't just take my word for it read my review & 33 other 5star reviews on Midway. Great video as always
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I wouldn't mind the tipped corelokts, second would be the normas.
They definitely seemed to do well!
168gr Eld-m and A-max are the best deer bullet ever made. The 155gr are good also.
I need to check those out then!
Hornady Outfitter > Barnes (but in 130 grain) > Nosler BT > Norma Soft Point > Hornady WhiteTail.
This would be my pick, with the Nosler BTs interchangeable with their Trophy (bonded) rounds.
👍🏻👍🏻 I like it
I personally use 150 nosler trophy grade a frame I shoot 30-06. See about 150gr in you 308. They are very pricey however tightest groups I get in my rifle. Consistent 3/4” 100 yrd groups.
Excellent! Thank you.
Barnes and the Federal fusions are your best rounds out of all those
The Barnes seem to do great!
My ruger American in 308 likes 150 grain. I like federal fusion 150 grain.
Those are GREAT rounds!
You should have tried 165gr your gun may prefer that. Better penetration and may be a tighter group. I personally love the federal premium 165 botail bullet. Which I understand has been discontinued.
Thank you for the info. I shot them in this video. czcams.com/video/7SO2I1Cn0Z8/video.htmlsi=hLWXwetmuEuCCnbm
My .308 rifles shoot hornady black amax 155 gr. Very well anywhere between .25 to .75 when I do my part.
That’s awesome. Another round we haven’t tried 🤦🏼♀️😊
tipped corelokt should be able to tighten to 1/2 inch or less they shoot 1/4 inch in all my rifles and are better performers/penetrators on game than the nosler Bal T as well are readily available.
Good to know. Thank you! I think we’re going to have to take longer breaks between groups.
could you please try norma ecostrike 150 gr 9.7gram because thats the one i shoot from my old 308 bsa and thanks for good info vids on ammo and equiment
We’ll have to see if we can find some of those. Thank you for watching!
Try the Nosler 125 grain.
Thanks! We’ll look for them!
Just shows, how a rifle might like some ammo over another, you have to get them matched up.
Exactly!
Try winchesterdeer season xp 150 gr they do real well out of mine thanks for your time
I do need to try those! We haven’t done those yet. Thanks for watching!
Try the Federal Premium 168gr Berger Hybrid Hunter. Extremely accurate out of 2 different Steyr rifles. Only downside is in actual usage it perhaps over expands.
I’ll have to see if I can find them!
@@ReviewThisThing Ammoseek, MidwayUsa also.
👍🏻👍🏻
I forgot about these. I even have a box left!
Great rounds, and are also in gorgeous, nickel plated casings.
The Berger bullets are very good.
I’ve never shot Bergers. So many options.
Try some hornady precision hunters or some sierra gamechangers seems like it does ok with some ballistic tipped ammo
We did the Precision Hunters, but they were too heavy for it. I haven’t tried the Sierra’s, though.
My AR10 HATES pmc bronze even with a rifle speed gas block it had too many issues.
Thank you for the info!
Jus t bought those noslers in 140 6.5prc and they shot good…had any luck with Berger bullets?
I haven’t tried those yet!
Stick with the Norma of your choice
😁
There was a few that was close enough to hunt with but I look at price, if I liked say 2 of them I go for the cheaper one if all else is the same. I can't see 40-60 dollars a box if 25-30 a box shoots just as well.
That’s a good point.
I'd still say around 185-190gr a 1:10" 308 rifle will fire the best groups. Based on information on the internet. In the tests you might have had better grouping for 150 by chance, and worse for 185, by chance.
Secondly three shots is really easy statistically show wrong way in both directions. False positive or false negative. Five shots would not be a lot, but still statistically multiple times safer.
We haven’t gone heavier than 180. We didn’t really research which grain would
Shoot best first - more trial and error to see what results we get. It’s been fun to see.
Federal terminal ascent best long range or short range. Shaped like a match bullet but bonded.
Perfect! Thank you!
I would say the federal fusion. Was your best round group
I think I need to shoot them some more for sure.
Use the Nosler 125gr. Ballistic Tip
👍🏻👍🏻
I killed a pile of deer with 150 grain BTs back when they were a Federal Premium loading. Then I got into reloading and killed some more with the 150s. Then I switched to 125 grain ABs. I load them in .308 Win and 300 blk. Good whitetail bullets that have less recoil in the .308(nothing has any recoil in the blk...lol).
I'm loading some 130 ttsx for this year in a new ultra light .308. Should be an efficient deer dispatcher. I'm going to download them some to around 2800.
The 115 grain ttsx in 6.5 Grendel have been impressive. My daughter killed a big doe last year; passed through, down in 15 yards, and almost zero bloodshot meat.
I think my days of deer mangling are behind me...now hogs on the other hand; giblet them all.
Oh man! It sounds like you’ve had some fun with that! Good luck with the hogs!!!
got to Rember most co's make hundreds of thousands of rounds per day quality control can change in a hart beat making
ammo go sour real fast and them rounds that went sour wont get scrap unless there is a danger of a gun blowing up.
that's were flyers come from and yes every gun has a sweet spot for a certain gr weight find it and stick with it.👍
Absolutely! Great insight!
I vote the least expensive, as I’ve still got Tula steel case berdan primed 150 grainers I bought for $12 a box 😂
Oh wow! Shoot them!
If you set your scope with one brand and weight, do you have to reset it using another? How much will it be off? I use Federal Fusion and Non Typical 150 grain .308. Both shoot the same and are rated at 2820 fps muzzle. I want to try Remington Core Lokt Tipped 150 grain but it is rated at 2840 fps. How much difference is it going to make?
I can make a big difference. Try the Core Lokt and see what you think. This gun doesn’t care for those as much and shot bigger groups. From what we found, if it moves the zero point, it won’t likely won’t be more than a couple of inches at 100, but if you change ammo, I’d re-zero it. That way you make sure there are no wounded animals but clean kills!
I use 3006 on really big stuff or 338 win. In my two 308s I hunt moose, elk , killed a bison with head shot. I have some 165 remington tipped corelokts but used these in 150 exclusively now and I have about 10 different loads for 308 including handloads and monolithics. I shot a moose last year at 275 yds in ribs he lungs were soup and bullet passed through with no recovery. With the 150 corelokt tipped. Moose took 2 steps and nose dove. These load shoot 1/4 " moa and I test on water jugs at 50 yards. Most 150s stop in 3rd jug unless all copper. Most 180s in 5th jug. These stop in 6th jug blow up 1st jug and split 2nd and 3rd jug. On game and the water jugs and for accuracy I have never seen a bullet expand as well, penetrate and group as well as the corelokt tipped 150 grain the 165s stop in 4th jug. They got this right and I do not like the corelokt tipped in 06 penetration is way below 180 corelokt psp and grouping 1.5" vs PSP same hole at 100 yds . PLus in chrono corelokted tipped in o6 180 grain 2615 fps advertised 2740. Corelokt 180 psp in 3006 22 " 2688 and advertised 2700. 308 win chrono 22" 150 corelokt tipped 308 2791 and advertised 2840. In my heavy 24 " barreled sniper class rifle they chrono at 2851. in snipter rifle 1/8" groups all day.
That’s fantastic information! Thank you!
Your first group in all your videos is ALWAYS bigger than the rest. Shooting cold bore
Maybe we need to shoot a dummy group before we start the actual test next time. Thanks for that!
168 grain and 178 grain bullets for the 308 seems to be the sweet spot for most rifles
Definitely not for this one! That 150-165 makes it happiest.
@@ReviewThisThing what's the twist rate and have u tried reloading
Twist rate is 1:10. We haven’t jumped all into that rabbit hole yet. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time 🤦🏼♀️😊
@@ReviewThisThing I really enjoyed your videos if u get into reloading I'll help you all I can
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching and your kind words. Thank you! I’ll keep that in mind!!!
Nosler, most of my hunting rounds are Nosler.
I’d like to try some more of theirs.
Norma bondstrike would be a good test. Bonded bullet with a poly tip good for any range and very accurate for me. It's good for antelope, deer, etc., up to moose. A tough bullet.
We definitely need to try that one. Thanks!
I also have a Cascade (unfortunately) in 308 and have tried the Norma bondstrikes; they got around 1.4 MOA, more or less similar to everything else I have shot from it. This is just not an accurate rifle by any means.
You might want to reach out to customer service if you’re having issues. I’m sure they would check out your rifle and make it right. You should get better groups.
@Billy M have you checked if the action screws are tight?
You should also check inside the stock to see if the barrel is rubbing anywhere.
Also make sure the pic rail is tight and the scope base and rings are tight. At least 35 lbs on the base and only 18 lbs on the rings - no more!
What scope do you have?
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good video but all this shows is the accuracy of each round from this particular rifle.
For hunting the terminal performance of each round at various ranges is far more important than simply deciding based upon accuracy alone.
You got it! Excellent point. There are a lot of pieces.
Try shooting some Noma Oryx or some of their more pricey rounds.
I only shoot the Norma 150 whitetail out of my sig cross... find the best bullet your rifle likes... and go hunting !!
I’ll have to try the Oryx
Any plans on making part 5? I'd recommend Barnes TTSX in 130gr and Nosler's Accubonds in 165gr. These two are top performing bullets, on tough, large size game.
For majority of my hunting, I rely on the Norma soft points in 150gr. They're really accurate and are great value for money!
I haven’t seen 130 grain Barnes! And we’ve definitely not tried those Noslers. They’re so fun to make, we just might do a Part 5. I’ve killed both of my bucks the past 2 years with those Norma soft points. So accurate!
Absolutely most accurate load in my mod70 compact feather weight has been Hornady Custom 150gr sst. Their kinda hard to find, Midway has them in stock now. Velocity wise, their slower than superformance but highly accurate
I haven’t seen those.
@@ReviewThisThing Check em out on midway got bunch of 5star reviews. I've shot 3shot clovers more than once. Be a great one for part 5 ! Hint Hint lol
Haha. There ya go. I will!
I would start reloading and tailor a custom load for that gun
It might be in the works soon 😊
I vote for the nosler
It definitely did well. Thanks!
What kind of ear protection are you using?
In this video, I’m using the Tetra Alpha Shields we reviewed here czcams.com/video/9_NI_-rKqiM/video.html
Seems everything is low and left. Are you zeroed in for another ammo that's actually centered?
Yes. After we finished the video, I shit the load it was zeroed with, and it was dead on!
Here’s what I was talking about. czcams.com/users/shortsLktgFBKqP70?feature=share
Good video, however I DO understand the concept of looking how a load groups and not how close to the bull it shoots
Yep. Then when we find the load we like - get it zeroed where we want it!
How about a165 gr, 308 Superformance
Haven’t tried those.
Hello, I'm from Kazakhstan 🤚, I watch your videos and wonder how you can not shoot well??? or you have the wrong twist on the rifle specifically for these bullets! you shoot light bullets they need 12 twist!!! double check your gear and make sure it fits the 150gr light bullets for the 12 twist!!!
Hey! Thank you for watching! I appreciate it. And thank you for the input.
What is the twist rate of your gun?
1:10
(Post) What gun are all you people using? Twist?
In all 4 of these videos, I’m using the CVA Cascade in .308 with a 1:10 twist rate. czcams.com/video/S4cNsRZr7TE/video.html
Did you try winchester deer season xp
I don’t think we did in this gun. We did in our 6.5 CM (Bergara Ridge), and it did well out of it.
