Nice one, thanks, I'll try this. Up here in Sweden we have a big problem with voles which live half overground and half underground, (so it's not easy to poison them with smoke/gas etc as one can do with moles) - do you have any good suggestions for getting rid of them?

I'm in the UK. We have Voles in the garden and the countryside, but they're never a problem inside the house. The only time I had one inside the house was when my cat brought it in. Sadly, it didn't survive. I'll leave the Voles for the Owls. It's their natural food source.

@@christinebrassey7877 thanks Christine - they don't come into the house but they eat the plants outside from underneath - even large trees which then suddenly fall down - sometimes on people. The species/subspecies we have up here are rather different from the ones in the UK - about twice the length and 4 or 5 times the volume and far more destructive - I've never heard of them actually being a problem in the UK. But up here they wreak chaos and are very hard to get ride of, the only solution well known being to mow the lawn constantly - but as we are trying to keep up the bee population with wildflowers in what is otherwise just pine forest, that's not a good option.
