I think the one thing that stands out to me (other than I just fall in love with him every time I watch this) is how humble he is. After he rips up the stage and almost seems to go into a different state while performing he looks up as if he just came back to the planet. His smile is infectious and that look is like a bright eyed kid at Christmas that just got a new puppy.
Dean was already well refined before X Factor at age 22 which is mind boggling. The judges couldn't teach him anything more. He was just there to sky rocket his career.
Jane Horrocks one of the few people to ever come on that is better than playing an instrument than he is at singing. Not that he has a bad voice but it’s not the strongest ever. But he is a better musician than most
I just don't get why people keep saying he's unlikeable. I didn't intend to watch X Factor this year but He and Reigan changed that. I LIKE HIM!!! He's _extremely_ likeable to me!
B BG Nah, he's neither arrogant or over confident. You can see in this video that he is amazed at the audience reaction. He's actually a really good guy-he's just not 'the norm' which is very refreshing. He's currently in the top 6, and doing well. Hopefully he wins the show. :)

I know Dean and lived with him 9 years ago in a student hostel in Chinchilla. He went out with my sister for a while. He's definitely not arrogant, he's a hard working humble and friendly guy. I'm glad you went against the negativity and posted those genuine and kind words about him. We need more people like you! :)

He had no idea how good he was. Amazing. He turned an old American song that few people know into something totally modern and totally electrifying. He rocked the stage. And then what he does to Coldplay's "Yellow" in Bootcamp is even more incredible. He transformed that song into something spectacular.
Interesting and charismatic guy...rather like a combination of Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison. At first I thought he was full of himself, but he seemed genuinely surprised to get the positive reactions from the crowd, and very appreciative of the judges' comments. That did it for me. He's a cutie who definitely can play and has great stage presence. I'm anxious to REALLY hear his voice!
I didn't understand people who were "hardcore Elvis fans" and seen him live, and even stalked him at the casino. But this guy really has that charisma and genuine devotion to music and being a singer. He bleeds and breathes the lifestyle of a musician thats devoted himself to his craft.
Dean's definitely got the X-Factor!! He's original, authentic and charismatic! Combine all of that with excellent guitar skills and musicianship and good strong vocals, and you have someone with a promising chance of success in this show and in the music/entertainment industry!!
these judges really knows how to appreciate talent... they return the feeling to the contestants...it makes you feel good when you see them stand on the table like that...

To be honest, I'm not an Elvis fan, but some of Dean's moves are most definitely Elvis! But there's not doubt, Deans FAR more talented! I adore him!
