To anybody out there that may be interested in doing their own nails at home.
I highly recommend using a nail dehydrator and prep for your nails. It makes the nails stick really good, and they won’t snap off so soon.
You gotta apply the dehydrator first, then the nail prep, then the base coat.
Hey girl! The higher the file grit the softer/finer they are, so 180 grit is softer/finer than 100

i've only seen people apply polygel inside the nail form so it was cool to see it applied over everything. Applying it inside the form was always a turn off for me so maybe i'll give this way a try!
Ellen W Dual forms are such a pain in the ass. In my opinion, normal tips are so much easier to use! You can control the thickness easier and get the cuticle area perfect.

Yes! I found the dual forms alot harder to use too. Also not having the tip underneath made them weaker I think. Mine only lasted 1 day and they snapped off without a tip underneath. I will certainly be trying this tonight, just in time for new years lol.

It’s a great vid but if ur doing i recommend putting the bead at the base of the nail cause if h out it at the tip it’s a lot harder to make the cuticle smooth. Also move the brush away form u and off the nail rather then towed ureself and to the cuticle, this will make it a lot easier to make smooth

This is a good video for beginners for sure. You did a good job and explained a lot! One little tip that I didnt see anyone address in the comments.. you should buff all the shine from the nail tip. So far I'd say this is great. Keep it up girly!

God bless u and all those girla out there in youtube who share their nail skills with the world that shows that in your heart you are full of love theres no reason to be jealous or greedy unlike those nail techs who are always mad when doing ppls nails they haye when you ask questions or show them pics of what you want idk why but they always mad i remember my nail tech rolled her eyes at me just because i was watching her do my nails i never even said anything to her i guess she felt she wasnt doing a good job but i never told her anything i would just sit there but i loved watching i never been that perfectionist type girl i felt horrible when she did that to me and even though i kept quiet i promised myself never to go back to her ...but see if i can do my own nails i mean why not this video is amazing you are amazing ! 🥰great job

same!! the forms look hard to use lmao
using too much slip solution will cause the polygel to destabilize don't use too much just enough not to stick to your brush and its easier to start off from cuticle and bring to the tip
Also she started at the tip of the nail which isn’t as good because u can’t get the cuticle very smooth and it’s harder to take it off if you put to much so I recommend putting ur head at the base almost at the cuticle then forming it down the up. Also it’s much easier to move the brush away form urself and off the nail rather then reaped urself and the cuticle
@@janeschlegel8447 yep exactly its way to hard to go backwards also too much solution causes lifting but i guess she obviously aint a pro and just learned on the internet but at the same time misinformation is wrong like how she said use alot of solution for easier movement, while true it causes lifting and changes the composition of the gel

I have been doing my nails for a couple of years and I always did the nail forms with Polygel but I love this method better because I feel like I can get them at thinner and less buffing. This is a very helpful video and I'm definitely going to give this a try. I have tried doing polygel using the forms only but I found that the polygel will crack easily. It seems like if I use the half tips it will give it a better foundation and more strength

I tried Poly Gel over a set of tips for the first time tonight. I actually used this video as a tutorial just to make sure I had the correct concept of applying the Poly Gel over the nail tip. Your video was so helpful. Like you I also had the same shape tips and I like the way you showed how to clip them and shaped the tips into the ballerina shape. I like using the tips. I think it's better then using a duel form and and Poly Gel. I don't feel like the Poly Gel is stable and I had a difficult time curring, forming, and my nails looked crazy. I feel like there more stable with the tips. I used a Markart Poly Gel Kit for the first time as well and I really like the Poly Gel. It was easy to work with, the color were really nice, the base and top coat are nice as well. One of my favorite kits so far and one of my favorite videos, Jasmyn. Hope to see more.

Hopefully mine comes out as cute as yours boo. Does the gelish set come with a LV light bonder? Or do I have to order that separate ?
The foundation in the gelish kit acts as a bonder. So no you don’t have to purchase that separately, I just own both.
Jasmyn Destine awesome. One more question! would I be able to paint the nail with a gel polish if I wanted to after I put polygel? I want to be able to have the fake nail as a shape for me to paint but don’t want to use acrylics...would that look too thick and clumpy?
Alice Bea yes you can paint them. Use a gel, then use top coat and cure it.

My issue with tips when I used a 10 in 1 gel and acrygel was that the tips over time were disconnecting with my nails and was afraid that water will set between the tip & my nail and I will get fungus so I removed everything. Now I will soon receive a polygel kit with dual forms and thought I would try with them.
