A simple solution for happy and healthy shoulders is to move your shoulders... like shoulders!
They're ball & socket joints with a massive range of motion, and an ability to move in so many different directions. To keep them working like they should without pain you want to move it through as much range of motion as possible, as often as possible!
This simple drill can be done at home or in the gym, and hits so many different directions! It's crazy how effective such a simple exercise can be!
Rotate your rotatable joints, and they'll be much happier for it!

TOM!! You’re a G thank you so much for your these videos you have no idea how much these help!
Love to hear this!!!
OMG, you guys really did it! 🎉 It was so great to see Aero there, too! Congratulations from Ninzza ❤
Amazing!
Will be doing this more often!
It’s a nice one!!
... thank you for all your videos. These feel great ... It is a very creaky experience though. 😅
Did it out of curiosity, goodness me that felt great!
Awesome!! Should pick a drill a day to try for a while!!
Tom and Jenny, I really enjoy your videos. I found and performed your shoulder nerve flossing video. I have been working insane hours at my computer for the last 4 months and began to experience nerve pain in my right arm. (typing + mouse). I also did this exercise too. I noted immediate positive sensations, and I could see the combo of flossing + this rotation as being a fabulous health break for the desk bound minions!
Fantastic to hear! Definitely check out the resistance bands playlist! There’s tonnes of gold in there!
It would be interesting to get an expert swim coach’s perspective on this video. From my layperson view, the initial “backstroke” motion is quite similar, except for lack of long axis rotation (torso and hips remain solid), lack of elbow flexion rather than sweep, and internal shoulder rotation on recovery. Similarly, the “freestyle” motion involves internal rotation and crossover center line (big no-no for swimming) and straight arm recovery. But the above is not a criticism of SMM etc….it’s merely to think and adapt “dryland” methods to sport specific movements and overuse injury problems.
From Southern California. Is there a way to schedule a zoom call with you? I’ve been dealing with On & Off lower back pain and I’m desperate for help, please.
Tom ,any tips for shoulder dislocation ,happened 2 times, thanks.looking for exercises.
Try this one with Jenni! czcams.com/video/2KFHwxrjUrA/video.htmlsi=i2kp7OjLj7_O8JH5
Bear here... Dude & Jenny, thanks for what you do... you say do some every day. how many times per arm equals a set ? or is it 1 left one right = 1set (then how many at a time?) how may times a day? I have the distinct feeling im overthinking this but...
Would just do 3 sets of 3 each side
I have my left shoulder that is lower than my right shoulder and I get pain from it my job probably doesn’t help but do you have any videos on how to fix this .
Give this one a go! czcams.com/video/nVmCGb_e9Co/video.htmlsi=1tf5vVbtWBP412A1
Isn’t using the wall forcing a more active ROM? My understanding of CARS is it’s all about passive ROM.
It is more active yes, CARs is about beign active because they're Controlled rotations 😁
Been 3 weeks now and I still can't do a 360 with my right arm. Should I just give up trying ??
Some changes at a joint can take a minimum of 2 months so wouldn’t be stopping just yet
@TomMorrison - Thanks, Tom. I'll keep trying. I can do a 360° but between 2 and 3 o clock it doesn't feel great. There's a grind or a catch there of some sort.
@@HardRockMiner its been 2 months hows it goin dude?
@MrsLovett - Still can't do a 360 without pain. I'm a broken unit. If I was a horse you'd shoot me. Thanks for asking though.
I wanna train my girlfriend so can be like Jenny. Thanks Tom and Jenny for the videos.
This can be done with light Indian clubs
Yep!!
Tom can poor posture, poor mobility and being tight constantly all the time inhibit muscle gain and strength?
Yep! Will zap your energy too
@@TomMorrison yeah I mean I do suffer from low energy and I am not sure if it a health condition but I have had blood tests done by my GP and they couldn’t find any abnormalities. Even after a session at the gym I even struggle to get out bed as well 😩😩😩
Neck stiff
This is basically the swimming backstroke.
Can I add weight to this exercise?
If so how much do you recommend? And what is the maximum weight in your opinion?
Can do yes, just start with 0.5kg and if it feels ok then build up, 3-4kg is plenty for something like this
