    Hi Master, I'm starting your Masterclass ;-)
    Could you explain / re-do the look of the movie "RUSH" (directed by Ron Howard)?
    I just delivered my first footage with you grading tips and my client LOVED it.
    Like you often say : it's a game changer.
    Alors, Merci ;-)

    Yeah man, not to beat a dead horse man, but would love to see how you lit this shot. (type of lights/gels) I would like create a similar look in an upcoming project, and I LOVE this look! Grabbing some Edison bulbs now. I'm over here trying to figure out how the blue key light and red back light has so much color but the Edison bulb doesn't seem to have as much of an impact on the subject.
    Perhaps it's a dumb question, but this has me fascinated!

    THIS ONE IS SERIOUS! Great stuff man! Love the consistency! Also love that you color grade every opening speaking portion differently every time.
    I'm curious about lighting some of your scenes. Obviously your crew is lighting your shots very well, and that will help tremendously in your color grades. Could maybe make a video on lighting for color grades? Or maybe some advice on solid lighting tutorials or workshops for an up and coming film maker in Las Vegas?
    Keep up the great stuff man!

    Love your videos Qazi. I have a workflow question for you - I always see you build out your node tree... Do you do this on your paid jobs that don't end up on CZcams too? I usually import my node tree structure from another timeline, so I don't have to recreate the bulk of the node tree each time.

    • @theqazman
      @theqazman  Před 4 lety +1

      I have it as a power grade so I can apply it at any time just single click in my power grade gallery and it applies it and no you don’t want to do that to a timeline because you can’t make changes to it and unless you’re working with a single shot you’re going to have to balance your image out so the timeline method doesn’t work you have to apply it for a clip you can group clip things scene by scene bases but even then you have to balance it which will be done in the clip page

    • @VerticalScaleMedia
      @VerticalScaleMedia Před 4 lety

      @@theqazman Thanks! I didn't know anything about Power Grades until you mentioned it and I went searching. I had been going to Timeline -> Colortrace and importing the grade from one clip of a different project, to one in the working timeline, and then distributing it to the clips as I edited. Having the structure as a Power Grade makes this workflow A LOT faster. :)

    Nice! I still think there's a bit too much blue on the left side, but only very slightly. One request I have is for the next video, please turn off/on nodes at the end for the summary more slowly. So when you turn it off, leave it off a few seconds to allow our eyes to get used to it, then turn it on for a few seconds, then off, etc. Just hold it a little longer than you do.
    For another video, you could show us how you lit your intro, and then how you graded it. Because as you said, a lot of color grading depends on the lighting that directors use.

    • @theqazman
      @theqazman  Před 4 lety

      I would suggest not carbon copy the look because that will never look natural. I spell it out everything for that reason. I think there is the right amount of blue where its supposed to be for that particular environment.

    Can you please provide us footage in each that you use in you tuts , so we can learn by doing it with you . now im doing is get your video and crop in to that video , due to very low qulity ( Croped video ) our grading not going to be perfect . if you do so it will be a big opportunity for us , thank you. ( it is also ok if you play the footage in full screen in the beginning so we can trim to it )

      For legal reasons, I can't do that. The only time it's possible is in my masterclass. It comes with around 100gbs worth of footage from every camera imaginable. I have contracts and approvals to use it for my paid course.
