I really don't get why some ppl hate this movie. Yeah, it's not perfect, but it's a really good movie. It's definitely the most romantic Pixar movie. And tbh it made me emotional so many times. I really liked it.
I watched this movie at school,and we finished it today,and I was crying a little bit when he got evaporated!
Last 30 minutes carried the movie hard it was just ok all around though

For 4 years we dating and we broke up just because her family think I'm too WHITE for her daughter, so yeah my story end horribly and this stupid movie have happy endiing
Fun fact: Ember and wade being able to touch is based on real science. It's called the Leidenfrost effect where when a really hot thing like Ember touches a liquid like Wade, it creates a layer of steam between the two which acts like an insulator to the liquid, preventing it from evaporating.

So I actually really like that they had a guy play Wade's role (as opposed to switching the genders). I felt like it would have been stereotypical to have the female be the empath and have the guy be the one struggling with communication skills.

Amongst the messages about respecting others and balancing culture and individuality, I think Ember and Wade being able to touch is a good metaphor for consent. Fire and Water can harm each other with sudden contact, but it's safe and pleasant when Ember and Wade both want to touch.

20:17 this is my absolute favorite scene, because it directly contradicts the guard telling Ember and her dad that their fire was too dangerous - the vivisteria tree *needs* fire (or at least it's light) to flower so beautifully. That tree hasn't blossomed since the flood, until Ember shows up. Makes me cry every time.

@@amayajones68 it's not totally thrown in your face, and the moment she's talking about it with Wade in the hot air 'balloon' focuses more on how she felt and was treated more than the words she's saying, if that makes any sense. My boyfriend didn't realize they said their fire was too dangerous until the 3rd time around
My daughter is 6 and this has become her favorite movie. I think it is a generational thing because she’s super connected with these characters. We could have this movie playing in the background and as soon as the “basketball” scene comes on me and my daughter will both stop whatever we’re doing and yell “WE LOVE YOU LUTZ!!!” It’s just such a beautiful and “human” story and I’ve seen that most kids really love it.

I’m sure someone mentioned, but Wade was scared of the water rushing bc he didn’t want to get sucked up into the pipes again, like before! He did after all only get saved bc of Embers anger. I love this movie so much more than I thought I would, so glad I decided to give it a chance!
This movie is so under-appreciated, It’s the best original movie disney/Pixar has made in a while.
26:18 If Wade went first, Ember would be right under him, like putting a pot of water over an open flame, meaning he'd boil alive even faster. Because heat travels upward, she HAD to go first.

Creativity wise this is one of my fav animated movie. I enjoyed every single frame and especially the artwork and character design. I would definitely watch part 2 to explore this elemental world and their creative ideas.
I really appreciate you guys bringing up the message this brings home especially for immigrant families. For me growing in an asian household this it deep as the movie progressed. Between that and the visuals its a solid film with a solid message.

This movie was from being generic
It was a very unique movie and I had myself laughing and laughing hard at the funny moments
Perfectly illustrates what it’s like to emigrate from one place to another
In the beginning it showed murals with all the waves of people coming in
If they do a sequel it should have another mural with the wave of Fire people coming into Element City
It should be about other elements mixing together to make new ones
There is a whole game called Doodle God where the whole purpose to create new elements
When I watched this movie, I loved it. Ember and Wade have excellent chemistry.

I was definitely one the people that was cynical about this film before it released, but I ended up really liking it. Not perfect, could've liked a bit more world exploration but otherwise yeah I liked it a lot.

The featurette about how Peter Sohn came up with the story is very touching, too. I cried so much during this movie, even the second time watching it and knowing what was going to happen! Thank you for the reaction, I loved it!
This is my favourite animated movie this year
Such a heartfelt, watchable film, crazily overlooked but I’m not sure how rewatchable this is.
If it counts, I'm watching it vicariously cuz I can't get enough of the movie but putting on Disney+ is too much work lol
I lost my father for about a year now and watching the last scene where Ember is about to leave on the boat and she gives respect to her Dad, just brings tears to my eyes. It was a moment I wanted to witness for my father agreeing on letting me go and leave the nest. This movie was really thee best😭😭😭
You did a real good reaction. I love this movie. Watched it 5 times in the theater, and bought six posters when they took them down, as well as the book, the ‘Art of Elemental. Ember acted, quickly, when needed; building the hot air balloon ( physics), throwing dozens of 200 pound or more sandbags, building the glass wall.
Loved this reaction, Vivian is an excellent addition to the channel! We teared up at almost the exact same moments 😅 I love this movie

Im not an emotional guy, but the last respect scene got me 😭🤧
One of my favourite things about this were that they never set out to fix the conspiracy of the water or the pipes
Because that's what we do in real life, we all just adjust to what we are given and find people we love and we persevere through it
This made me tear up, and I never cry. Like never ever. This was the sleeper hit of the year honestly.

This movie works because it talks about what families sacrifice trying to give their kids a better life in a foreign land from any race or background. My great grandfather who was Irish and came over after the potato famine and my mother who came from Mexico. Goes to show that everyone had struggled at some point.

I just noticed he wore pants when he was little... so... at what point growing up do the male elements go, "and now! no more pants!" lol
I did think that the other elements would get in there more. Like, how Ember is using Earth to make glass, and I was thinking Wade was going to turn into Air when she got too hot. Or that Air people would be required to heat Ember's flames enough to seal the dam.
As a scorpio I can't tell you how many times I cried during this movie.😂
Finally watched it on Disney plus and it’s definitely enjoyable film. Got me a bit in the feels as I can relate being first generation born here. Parents from Peru

I'm a male but of Fire Sign according to my horoscope. Their fire tradition (I forgot what it was called)- the one you do and your parents must do it too. It makes me cry every time. Like I wish I can do something like that to my dad🥹 I wish he would be proud of me even though I've been a failure😭

As soon as she made the pitcher at Wade's apartment, I thought the resolution was going to be that she would start selling custom glassware and art pieces at the shop, building on top of her Dad's dream and making it something her own. She was already making perfect, beautiful things that people would want to buy, she never needed the big city internship. People like Wade's mom would inevitably hear about her work and start flocking to Fire Town to shop there. Happy multi-cultural ending. Seemed like that natural way for this kind of movie to go. I guess that was too much of a Disney Fairy Tale for Pixar? Maybe making her choose between them was more true to life.
"I need more tissues" - That should be the tagline of the movi

Have you watched Nezha 2019? It is a truly amazing masterpiece and I highly recommend it. If you're looking for a cinematic masterpiece, you cannot miss Nezha 2019. It's an incredible film that is sure to leave you in awe.

Vivian is really smart
I've seen a few of these reactions now. And i don't understand how people don't get why Wade getting swept away by the water is a bad thing. One we already know when talking on a lot of water hits firm becomes way less stable. You can see how is edging that creates his skin gets far less smooth and less able to stay together. Also we see that once in the water he has no control over where it will take him. He might not die but both of those experiences seem terrible and scary.
Also if he got swept away to the sea there is a chance he would be as good as dead never being able to form himself again just being lost and mixed with the water is the ocean forever
The only problem in the last scene is that instead of Wade getting evaporated it should have been Ember dying out. Because fire can not survive in the lack of Oxygen, as it was in the sealed chamber.

one headcannon have is the elementals evolved into humans after they started mixing. human = ~70% water ~25% earth ~4% air ~1% fire. did you know in all living creatures there is a meconism that makes the calories burn at the ~100 degreees F if this mechinism breaks one suffers "spontanius internal combustion". humans also emit an unseeable light (tho i can seem to see glow onmyself and few others)

I think every Pixar movie made me cry except The Incredibles. Pixar is GREAT at getting the tear ducts flowing. Even if there are f*cking animated elements on the screen 😂

With our voting system becoming head of state is actually obtainable since you vote for a party and we have 8 parties in our governing body currently. So you can become prime minister of Sweden, even if you're not from a privileged background. Sure, it's incredibly unlikely, but possible.

I had expected that the motor oil scene at the busted overflow was going to be someone doing it intentionally.
Originally the movie had a villain which was according to the director: Wade's mother. But thankfully they scratched the idea. I find it better a.s an accidental and not as intentional.

I have become a bit sensitive and hyper aware of the message that has become so typical in modern movies where they want to make a guy like me feel bad about being who I am (male, straight, white)
So when I saw this movie, I SUPER appreciated that all of the characters they showed were given dignity and had value and I didn’t feel preached to at all! What a beautiful and wonderful movie!!!

It did really well in theaters it just had a slow start because of the poor trailers and marketing. Plus there was Spider-Man, Barbie, Openheimer etc
