I think they were actually saying Boo-urns, to acknowledge Billy's move to Munster next season.

Why are you even seeing ROG as "Munster" in this scenario. I love the guy but he is the coach of a French team and then using his munster credentials to come to ireland, incite irish people to support a french team against their fellow irishmen.. Of course in Cork he knew and did his best to incite that knowing it would get right up the noses of Leinster, its fans if not the team, ...and well done ROG because it did. LOL But in fairness the booing was very good natured and pantomine in nature and even a Munster and la Rochelle supporters beside me were laughing. Too much being made of it really.

He took the defeat well this year. He didn't take the win very well last year though. That's the issue here

You can't play silly mind games and when it doesn't work you go: Oh no it was just logistics...
You are allowed to play mind games and people are allowed to react to them.

I was at the match. The reason the booing started was because ROG appeared on screen reacting to a decision by the ref that the Leinster fans didn't agree with. Before that, he had appeared on screen to no reaction from the crowd. Afterwards, it did continue, but it was pantomime stuff, as suggested. Nonetheless, it would have been better not to have done it - it clearly came across as disrespectful on TV.

Any comment about the number of Munster people wearing La Rochelle gear and openly supporting a French team against an Irish team?

Apparently it's fine for Munster fans to completely disrespect a provincial rugby organisation over decades (by wearing the regalia of and loudly supporting foreign teams playing Leinster) but it is completely disrespectful for some Leinster fans to have a laugh at ROG's expense by jovially booing him when on the big screen during a game (there was no booing when he came onto the pitch after the game so nothing to do with the man personally). Interesting stuff, really.

Yellow Munster are genuinely everyone in Munster's second team already. Hundreds if not thousands have bought holiday homes there, take a stroll down rue du palais during the summer and it's like being in Kilkee with all the Limerick people

Booing is because he tried to influence a ref in the last final and had a big clash with sexton which ended up in Sexton getting a ban.

Look let’s be honest, guys like ROG who stoke these rivalries just make things that much more interesting and give the pundits more to talk about. He’s the gift that keeps on giving. The fact that his face on screen can elicit boos is brilliant. Rivalry makes sport more fun and we all know it.

I was at the game. Even the lads in monster jerseys were laughing at the booing. It was pantomime. There are a lot of armchair experts who weren't at the game making judgments. And let's remember munster boohed Axel and their own team in Thomond. But this has been conveniently forgotten. Perhaps if munster had had a game this weekend, they wouldn't be thinking about this at all

Can you imagine Munster or ROG attracting Jordie Barrett to play. Only a club f the standing of Leinster can do that! As regards the trip to Cork, they couldn’t find a room big enough for someone’s ego at the Aviva! Come on guys he got booed because of his mind games. He likes to dish it out so better get used to taking it. Needs to take a leaf from AF on how to behave.

      @MrConor9 Před měsícem

Leinster are 5 points clear at the top. They planned the season so by the time the tour came around they could afford to drop points down there. The team to play Saints will play in Dublin.

I was in the crowd. It was all just craic. There was no animosity in it. In fairness though, O’Gara left himself wide open for something which manifested itself in the booing. I’m sure he’s copped on enough to know that playing mind games, shooting off his big mouth and belittling others all in the name of winning a match, will have some consequences.

  • @LeinsterExile

It was like Pantomime booing, nothing serious. One thing I will say I don't live in Ireland right now but I try to get to as many away province games as I can and I would never support any team that was playing against any of the provinces. I've been to most of the Irish province games in the UK and Italy and always support the Irish!

The booing was just part of the rivalry and the fact that he is a Munster man who has been at the heart of Leinster's failures for 3 years now. I barely paid any attention to it when I watched the stream. I don't think ROG did either. I don't think that the fans who booed, really hate RO all that much. I think they would turn around and cheer for him if he ever gets the Irish job.

Rivalry makes things fun. Everyone cheers for the boys in green, but why aren’t Munster fans allowed to back la Rochelle against Leinster? Disgraceful? Quit clutching your pearls over a fun rivalry that makes the game that little bit more interesting. Seems some of the Leinster fans are the clowns who think everyone in Ireland has to back them and are still a little sore from losing to ROG’s Leinster three years in a row. The team played brilliantly and finally got a well deserved win, and I love to see it personally, but I’m not honorbound to support Leinster any time they’re not playing Munster

Come on, we all love ROG the lovable rogue, the booing was all pantomime, he was shown on the screen in the stadium a few times. It was only when he was shown viable disagreeing with the refs decision that Leinster fans did not like that he got booed. All fun and games, nothing that ROG would not laugh off. It is a rivalry that is healthy for the sport.
