@Zack Browning One of my oldest and dearest friends, Woody Hughes, just passed away at age 95. He was my high school baseball coach and a Marine veteran of Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. His last wish was that every American raise a flag on Feb 23d to honor the memory of the flag raising he witnessed on Mt Suribachi 76 years ago and all those that never returned from that blood-soaked island. If you google his name you will learn more about him. And, if you are able to see the video of his funeral service I am the Marine paying tribute to him.
R.I.P. to my father who served as a Marine from 1962-1966, including surviving a tour in Vietnam. He died at the age of 81 on June 14th, 2024. Semper Fi!

Lawrence Glover well the navy seal training is harder then any other branch Marines are good to but navy seals have harder training some get through the training some don't and Marines are OORAHS!!!!!
The USMC is exceptionally good at what they do. There are very, very few survivors of engagements with the Marine Corps that will question that since 1775 no finer troops ever served anywhere, ever. I've never been a Marine, I've trusted my life to Marines once or twice. II'm a huge fan of their work. Semper Fi.

The Japanese were incredibly disciplined, and believed Hirohito was God-Emperor. Thus the Marines in the Pacific theater faced a nation of religious fighters, in the Japanese. Even to this day, we are taught about the fighting spirit of their people and dedication to duty. Much respect from warrior culture to warrior culture, IMO.
My papa served in the UNIUTED Sates navy he was a core man and he fought for our freddom and I am lucky to have him back home and I know the navy coast guard air force and the marines and I know that song from the halls of mountuma to the shores of tripolione

Serving in the Marine Corps was the best job I ever had and the proudest moment of my life was graduating from basic training in San Diego '81!
