Big Orbit's James unboxes and discusses the cards in Opus I (1), the first booster set for Final Fantasy TCG - Pick up Final Fantasy TCG singles and sealed packs/boxes from www.bigorbitcar...
The art looks like being pulled from stock and not new designed. Really looks like just Squarenix trying to cash on it. Also the cards don't really sound like being paper, more like plastic (like e.g. Redakai)
Should see the FFVII starter deck. Images save for a few taken straight from the remake trailer. The Jessie card is the worst card I've seen next to the Final Fantasy 11 one's that are still in japan.
mindustrial the art is one reason I'm hesitant on buying these cause they just feel lazy if square just got some artist to do some new art for the cards like Nintendo did with fire emblem cipher tcg then I'd be a bit more interested in collecting these cards
The artwork isn't new, but I don't mind as most of them still look beautiful. And them being plastic is a positive not negative as they are more suitable for long term competition play.
Big Orbit Gmaing- The S in a cards ability cost means Same name. So to play the Hero Kimahri ability, you'd pay the colour cost, then discard any Kimahri card in your hand.
I went to my card shop on day one to get these only to find out that that they were all completely sold out. Didn't think they'd be that popular. Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to sort these cards when I put them into a card binder.
Okay, so I was mostly right with the 'Freeze' effect. If you Freeze an opponent's character, they cannot activate that character during their next activate step. -James Big Orbit
Hi there - We are getting a small restock today - Expect the stock to go on around lunch time (GMT). Please check the notify me box and enter your email address on any cards you are interested in and you'll get an email when these come in. Paul Big Orbit
While the card layout and art is absolutely stunning, I do REALLY dislike the wording on the card effects. It all seems like the Japanese card texts were thrown into a google translator and printed right away. It all sounds like broken English.
There was some mistranslation (does this word even exist ?) in the french version so I wanted to buy the english version instead but it seems like you guys kinda have the same issue. That's really sad, I hope they'll put more effort in it for the next edition...
Yeah, some of them are a bit ambiguous. Some go into quite a bit of detail, while some don't. Also, there's inconsistencies in the order that information is put on the cards.
bro i purchased a whole box at eb games, I told them i was thinking of buying a box i saw online for 260 bucks and they matched the price. This was in Auckland tho
Hi there - There are 216 cards in the set 186 are available in the boosters and the starter cards are the following 30. Foils exist for all cards including the starter cards - the foil starter cards only come in the foil slot of the boosters. Paul Big Orbit
Keep in mind that Japan has had these for five years and they're still going strong. I doubt the wording for the American version is what's going to limit them for only three months.
The box is from our own stock for the website. Nothing we unbox is sent to us by any companies or individuals, its all purchased by us. The length of videos is a point of contention amongst a lot of our fans so I appreciate that it can be too long at times. Being the first box from a brand new game meant this unboxing was always going to be a long one though as we need to take more time to explain the cards, mechanics, etc etc. - Simon, Big Orbit
how did you identify the rarity on this cards? i know there are 4 types of cards if i am not mistaken but i dont know how to identify them besides the art of the card.
It will say at the bottom in the middle. There will be a four digit code and then a letter. The letter will either be C, R, H, or L, for Common, Rare, Hero, and Legend. -James Big Orbit
Yes, there are two Yuna cards in this set, and one Yuna in the starter deck. As well as that, there's another Yuna coming out in Opus II. So some may say there are too many Yuna cards... and some may say there are not enough. :P -James Big Orbit
I think Square Enix missed the mark on this one. The quality of the card stock is amazing, however I think that Square should have given us a legit physical version of FFVIII Triple Triad with expansions to include the games that the FFVIII version ignored. That would have been the S#!T. But no. We get this weird re-hash bastard child of MTG, FOW, WOWtcg, and Yu-Gi-Oh. What the hell Square Enix...
I make sure the cards are on the left-side of the pack when I'm opening them from the right to prevent damage. These cards are tightly packed so it's hard not to get it caught on the pack when opening them, but they are also very sturdy and won't get damaged that easily. -James Big Orbit
Big Orbit Games you pull em out in an angle pushing their upper left corner with force against the pack itself which might cause damage to the cards. seriously though, just look at how you open the very first pack and how you struggle to pull the cards out
There are cards with original FF7 artwork in this set, as well as some of the cards have 3D character art from the game, such as the Cid Highwind card. -James Big Orbit
The artwork on these cards are truly terrible. The FFX ones look ok because they've been taken from a trailer but even that is so lazy. It's very disappointing that they've taken the easy option with these.

opus 3 is going to have original artwork
Couldnt agree more on that bro. Its disgusting that Square Enix is not even able to make new artworks or full arts on their own tcg.
Big Orbit Gmaing- The S in a cards ability cost means Same name. So to play the Hero Kimahri ability, you'd pay the colour cost, then discard any Kimahri card in your hand.
I'm headed to my card shop to get started in the morning. Can't wait to start playing! Awesome vid, I subbed.
really loving that they are using the FF3 / FF tactics job sprite for the basic jobs card (dragoon, dark knight etc.)
Yuna's ability sounds like she sent the dead to the plane by removing them.
Your foil Legend pulls were insane!
I went to my card shop on day one to get these only to find out that that they were all completely sold out. Didn't think they'd be that popular. Also, I'm not sure how I'm going to sort these cards when I put them into a card binder.
By the number?n
Okay, so I was mostly right with the 'Freeze' effect. If you Freeze an opponent's character, they cannot activate that character during their next activate step.

I opened this box today and pulled a foil cloud from it
Sweet opening. Longing to open an opus i box.
A foil in every pack? god dang! how much was the box?
Boxes average just over £100 - Paul Big Orbit

This is out now?!
It came out early in the UK, with the US release following up very soon.
- Simon, Big Orbit
How many cards of each rarity are in a box ? Game's picking up hype in my area, would like to learn all about it. Thanks !
Please help I have a question, can someone explain how to tell what are heroes, or legends or commons or etc? How can you tell?
At the bottom of each card is its number and a letter indicating its rarity, "C/R/H/L/S".
The lack of IX cards disturb me
I feel the same way about IV cards. :(
-James Big Orbit
i love your company
Anytime you say stand I think Thrones.
Thank you in advance for the order of Foils we just made with you :D Please let us know when you get more shiny in.

Bacon Lord they definitely have to work on it
than an issue with a lot of card games that comes from Japan (for exemple FoW)

So this is actually pretty substantial for a box? Because it looks like a lot of cards in the packs and a lot of packs in the box.
36 packs in the box, 12 cards in a pack, so you get plenty of cardboard mileage from a box!
- Simon, Big Orbit
NICE!
Awesome
Can't get these in New Zealand. So gutted.
bro i purchased a whole box at eb games, I told them i was thinking of buying a box i saw online for 260 bucks and they matched the price. This was in Auckland tho
Are the cards the same size as MTG or Yu-Gi-Oh? Wanna know as I might be going to a launch event and wanna bring the right sleeves with me.
Jamie Popay as far as I know, they are standard size, so the same size as Magic or Pokemon cards.
They are Standard size, so MTG and Standard sized sleeves will fit the cards fine.
- Simon, Big Orbit
How do you recognize if a card is a Hero?
Just because it's named?
And what about Legends? I'm a bit confused
H or L at the bottom of the card
George Maddux Thank you!
I WANT THAT PLAYMAT TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THAT I JUST NOTICE IT TODAY
I can't exactly remember where I got it, but you should be able to find it online.
-James Big Orbit
how many card are in the set? and does every card came in normal and foil version ? if i were to master set this
Hi there - There are 216 cards in the set 186 are available in the boosters and the starter cards are the following 30. Foils exist for all cards including the starter cards - the foil starter cards only come in the foil slot of the boosters. Paul Big Orbit
how do you see the difference in rarety? Like common and uncommom so on
Tuna sallad the rarity is indicated by a letter at the bottom of the card
OMG!!!!!! I want it.
Just by the way the cards are worded and the stock images, I just don't see this card game lasting longer than 3 months.
Keep in mind that Japan has had these for five years and they're still going strong. I doubt the wording for the American version is what's going to limit them for only three months.
nice
Too long video, but it's normal you are the first i think, you receive, you film and you post...
So thanks for your video

awesome, thx for the answer!
Tutti e tutti
What a video! 🙂😄
Umm does anyone like shantoto or just utterly hate her?
How do you tell the rarity of a card, exactly?
At the bottom left of the card to the right of the code they will have a letter. C (Common, R (Rare), H (Hero), and L (Legend).
-James Big Orbit
is it possible to get all the cards in this set with one box?
I''m afraid not. Though I believe it is possible to get everything with only two boxes (Excluding foils).}
-James Big Orbit
Big Orbit Games man, thats gonna pricey for collectors. thanks for the reply!
How did you get and how much did you pay for the box?
We are a shop so we got this from the wholesaler on release. Paul Big Orbit
Big Orbit Games I'm so jealous
Is yuna in this set?

That Cid Highwind card artwork near the end of the video was so lazy and terrible.

Your voice is like Auron´s one !!!!
Haha, I can't say I've ever made that connection but thanks anyway. :P
-James Big Orbit
what's the difference between opus 1234?
Opus 1 was the original set for the game, and 2, 3, and 4 all add cards to the game. They're essentially expansion sets.
-James Big Orbit
are they made of plastic
They seem to be. They are definitely a lot sturdier than most other cards.
-James Big Orbit
Big Orbit Games that makes me exited
blackheavymetalman they are cardboard similar to other games but have a plastic-like film on the back that makes them feel more sturdy
The way you rip open the packs is cringeworthy... the cards are probably not in a near mint state right wenn you opened the packs anymore..
I make sure the cards are on the left-side of the pack when I'm opening them from the right to prevent damage. These cards are tightly packed so it's hard not to get it caught on the pack when opening them, but they are also very sturdy and won't get damaged that easily.

Universal Fighting System is better, unfortunately
If you still have these cards you should send them to me! I'll pay for shipping! 🚢
whoa..... where is the original game from FF7?.... not cool... fail
