the FFTCG is at my LGS and is very good and somewhat active as well. we can have a contains 8 player tournys.

My LGS in Halifax has started hosting games of this. I saw the cards on their counters and wondered what they were for a while until finally learning it was FF. I will continue with MTG for now though, Dinosaurs are just too much fun.
Side note, you typically pull 6-7 legends per box and usually 2-3 foil legends. Though I have pulled upwards of 14 legends (7 and 7 foil) in boxes. The secondary market is moving fairly well, it all depends on LGS support to run the event. That's the biggest problem currently (aside from distribution channel) is that not a lot of stores carry it DUE to the distribution problem.
Card quality is amazing. About to order Opus IV booster box soon. No one plays near me either (Chicago W. Suburbs).
The Chicago player group on facebook has nearly 150 players. If you're on Facebook, it would be worth joining if you can.
Any 1 else notice the slight desync on the card cam as call it. Its primarilly noticeable when hes sliding cards
I'd say that in Virginia, we currently have 3 large areas supporting the game. And if we got everyone together in those areas we could probably host a 100+ man tourney.

hello, im more of a new fan of yours, ive not had the chance to play the final fantasy games for the same logic as most, I dont want to spend the money to only have my deck collect dust kinda like with weiss schwarz, i am a final fantasy fan have been since i was 12 or so, So i was wondering if you would do a tutorial video on it. I know others have done it but you could do it with your flair and it would be fun. Id like to learn more about the final fantasy card.

My local GameStore has events for Final Fantasy, however my LSG is one like 7 CoolStuff Games. 3 in Orlando area alone. It's a fn conglomerate lol. I hope it catches on. Until then I'll be playing Commander.

Is the Final Fantasy TCG good? I'm a big Final Fantasy fan so I'm very tempted by these cards. I saw them in my LGS for the first time today.
Joe Neutrino it's pretty fun if you can find someone to play with! Very rarely you'll be in a position where you're mana screwed but it is still possible.
I'm only playing cards from FF1-FF3 (US versions). ... and Cloud cards.

it's artificial value, the company who owns the game does not print NEARLY enough product, when the game fist launched, boosters and starters were sold out *before they shipped* you couldn't find any, and some people pre-ordered months in advance and still had delayed shipments for 1-2 months after launch day.

split it into 2 parts; 1- teaching your friend and 2- actually vs each other
Problem isn't just the FF art, it is the lack of background art. Additionally, glitter to make a foil card special seems pretty bad. We have our beefs about MTG cards, but wow... card art and backgrounds are sooo much better.
The art is actually beautiful. A lot is stock art, but it literally built in from existing games. Unlike MTG, where something new is created every set, they use a lot of concept art etc. The foils are simply gorgeous in person. You just need to see for yourself. There is no need for background art when the actual art is perfect.
Yeah, must be eye of the beholder. I will have to check them out in person as video doesn't do many cards justice from any TCG. Beyond my opinion so far, the only other evidence I have is the price of MTG original art and prints versus Final Fantasy art prints.
I love the FFtcg I got a box of the last set and loved the card feel and art. I play force of will also and the new set is coming out soon can you do an opening? P.s. I would totally play some FFtcg with you bud.

We're going to have several regionals next year and there's rumors of a major event at Gen Con for next year. FFTCG had a very rough Year 1 if we're being honest, but I believe everything is going in the right direction for season 2.

I finally got to play FFTCG. I really like it.
The artwork seems to vary between dumb to amazing... like they are trying to appeal to a range of preferences. Some of those foils looks amazing.
I like the game and would like it to be my secondary card game, haven't played it much, the game had a better going when it was just released with Opus 1 here, the people I know to have it around me, don't play it much if at all anymore, not sure if me getting boosters and them going preconstructed decks was what killed it or they just got tired of playing the same deck...
Though to be fair I should probably just have taken 6-7 decks with me and had people try them out to champion the game.
I've decided to skip Opus 4 for the time being, due to not being a fan of 4 sets in 1 year for what I want to be my secondary card game 2-3 displays a year is the area I'd personally prefer to keep it at.
Regarding the cards, I agree the card material is great, The foils however need to be part of the art instead of just a rainbow background imo, because the rainbow background = less appealing to me than the original art, however cards like Vivi opus 3 or the Shadow Lord you pulled, those are nice in foil imo.
Never played, but really want to. My area has a lot of card stores which stock like every single card game from Japan, we have a huge market for Japanese stuff and card games in general here (Asia Pacific), but none of the stores has FFTCG stocked. Only one store doing solely retail, not a LGS, carries it, and it is the Japanese version (which I prefer and IMO looks way better than the English version, the typography is simply ugly for the ENG version, and it makes much more senses with the art direction). The store owner told me that it did not sell at all, probably I am one of the few customers for it, he carried only one extra booster box with a few loose packs.
Another note is that, the older Chapter version packs (grey white card back), been around for 6 years before the Opus version, were still on the shelves untouched. I am sad.
Going the route of a general gaming channel is so much cooler than MTG. Magic is dead to me

yea TBH I think they really screwed up but not having enough product on release... so many ppl I know bought decks and then some(myself included) could not find them anywhere... so I just stopped caring, pretty much everyone who did buy in tho have sold their decks :P Sadly I don't think this game is going anywhere fast :P

yea! FoW was great but they went about it alllllll wrong. the starters and valk chronicles destroyed that game IMO. Great Foils, Great art, Fixed the mana problem with mtg.... but then they had to make it next to impossible to get Meta game staple.... Leviathan for 1.... man I wish I knew someone that would buy my 2000+ cards LOL!

Star Wars Destiny is a great game, too.
Game is gas. More about resource management and focused deck building than mtg.
I think the name final fantasy might be enough to make people interested but there needs to be a place and people to play which there is not in Green Bay. I just wanna collect the cards I love final fantasy

I like the digital art in FF because the source material is digital. I do not like the digital art in Magic at all, because it's fantasy, and fantasy art has traditionally been oil paintings.
I'll just say Jeff Easley for old school D&D players. Do an image search on his art. Top notch.
So by far my new favorite game. Have been playing since opus 1. Gts is by far the problem in America. The rules are so similar to MTG with just a word change like dull is tap etc. Plus a year in and we already have regionals and a world championship.

It's a surprisingly good game, but suffers from some clearly better decks... Same problem in Magic I hear.

There's lots of nice artwork on these cards, but to me the majority of them still seem rather plain with their lacklustre backgrounds, looking almost unfinished in some ways.
The digital stuff is thumbs down.
The line drawings that resemble pencil w/water color are beautiful, IMO.
I could see myself getting some of this game, I do love FF I saw quite a few characters I remember even from Tactics, crazy.
I highly doubt Final Fantasy TCG will last. I've played MTG for 20 years and in that time, I've tried other CCG's with huge licenses that were solid games but still couldn't compete with MTG. Yugioh and Poke'mon are exceptions but Star Wars CCG was a solid game, as well as Lord of the Rings TCG was a solid game, both of which got Online forms but just didn't have longevity, not to mention Decipher's embezzlement problem didn't help. VS was a good game, yet defunct. I've even played some of the really lame TCG's, such as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Sailor Moon and Duel Masters. Everything seems to be about "Free to play" TCG's online. So far, the only game I've played in the last 15 years that is unique and reinvigorates the genre of CCG's is Infinity Wars on Steam. It has won awards and is seldom heard of.
I am not ashamed to admit I own a 100% complete set of the sailor moon CCG along with the promotional teaser cards.
Also, try Eternal CCG, LSV himself works with the dev team to make the game better, it's free, and unlike Hearthstone grinding is very easy, I have gotten 3 people into the game and all of them still play to this day.
It plays like a streamlined magic the gathering, but has almost 0 RNG and most of the cards seem "fair" Control and Aggro are both viable in the meta, oh... and *you get to keep cards obtained in draft* on top of rewards.
I downloaded eternal because I heard LSV and Kibler both worked on it, but sadly it freezes up during the intro game for me. :(
Decipher's "embezzlement problem" was the only real reason their games/licenses failed in the long term. Their designs were incredibly solid, but they were operating at a constant loss and couldn't pay the bills - much less the licenses. I would pay good money for continued cardboard for more Decipher SW:CCG with content from the new films and the cartoons.

The problem with FF TCG is the artwork, and for me this is off-putting.
Imho it's just lazy and uninspired to get screenshots or old artwork and put them on cards as they are. More so if they are heterogeneous as they are in all the history of FF.
It's a shame because it's actually quite good.
Well at the least they didn't mess up the artwork but it does seem like they need to alter the art from FF 1-6 at the very least

I refused to get into this game because of the abyssmal supply for it... I knew from day 1 that the cards would be over-inflated in price due to how hard it is to get a box, websites sold out *months before product shipped* boxes were being scalped for upwards of 200+ dollars a piece before they even released...
It's just not a good game to invest in, play something else.
The people in charge seem to be taking a page out of nintendo's book, by making the cards so damn limited in availability that most people cannot afford to play.
The problem is that CCGs live or die on their competitive scene, and unlike Nintnedo, who can sell plenty of consoles with one-player games like mario, a CCG does not have that luxury, they have to have a balance of profit and product supply.
