Also another Thailand ARMY (shout out to Sky_hxneul) was kind enough to educate us and explain that this was filmed in Thailand and that place is called the "Thief Market" Rattanakosin Island's ( Old name of Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shoping center in the period after the abolition of slavery.. This is how he explained it : so this market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received some goods from the master and also stole some They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Now we know that Haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means the liberation of the prohibition..

I was awake when it first was dropped. It is brilliant. It is a Masterful Masterpiece to say the least. The son of "Daechwita". Suga is a wise sage ole owl dispursing wisdom through his artistry. I don't know if this MV will be nominated for anything. But Suga won. He won it all. It's one of The Best MV's in the world of talent! Suga won! Is Suga fine in this MV? Yes! Especially in his business suit! Attire and Attitude! Is he an amazing talented actor? YES! Kudos to the director, cinematographer, art director, set designer, hair and makeup, and costume departments. You have created a Vision! Kudos to every person involved in creating this artistry! And Especially to the fight choreographer whose fight choreography is top of the line! Yes, every fight in every TV show or movie or video is choreographed! And of course to Suga. Applause. Brava! I also think that part of the reason it feels like we haven't had any socially critical music from BTS in so long is because they were planning on enlisting in the military after MOTS tour in 2020, but this was delayed and they were kind of just going through the motions in the pandemic. But during 2020 they released a few songs criticising society: UGH, DIS-EASE and ofc DAECHWITA to name a few. Also jhope's THERE ARE NO BAD PEOPLE IN THE WORLD/STOP on JITB last year. They also threw shade at the government and society throughout the Busan concert. I'm so curious as to how completing their military service will shape their world view and the art they create in the future 💜💜💜

Yesterday BTS' Performance Director posted "The Boss is coming" and boy he did - he got us by the throat & didn't let go 😛I'm gonna be intrigued now for the MV for Amygdala to see if it's connected to this one & ties the trilogy all up 🤩Just a note on pronunciation - this song is said like Heg-gum..in Korean, if 2 vowels are together you usually only pronounce the 2nd one (tho 2 o's are said as oo - Namjoon being an example) so for this the a and the 2nd e are silent; his name isn't actually said as AUgust D, tho lots of people say it like that, it's A-gust, cos it's Suga backwards 🙂; and finally Daechwita isn't Daysh-wita...it's said like De-chee-tah - again the a is silent & also the w - just have a listen to the songs again to hear how he says them. Sorry for the lecture, but I'm a bit of a language nerd! 😄Looking forward to your reaction when the next vid drops 👍
Not to much into this style of rap, but SUGA is the best at what he does. The lyrics have a strong powerful meaning, I'm going to have to read them more closely. The MV was incredible, overall... so impressive.

This is the sequel to Daechwita, to me. It's AMAZING, it's everything I was hoping for and didn't get with People pt.2 (which is a nice song, but it's not THIS). LOVE it.
Also, Haegeum is a traditional two string instrument, and I can't help but wonder if the two strings (two versions of himself, to sides to every story etc.) carries a bit of significance.
Or maybe it's just the natural progression from Daechwita - royal military music - to the small, two-string instrument of more "folksy" tunes, I'm assuming.

Haegeum" is a traditional 2 string instrument from Korea. But it also mean something like "lift a ban" or "remove prohibition" That's why the lyrics are about freedom vs self indulgence and protest/riot or revolt.

All three songs in his trilogy is breaking through barriers. Daechwita proffessional, Haegeum societal, Amygdala personal. So in Daechwita, and Haegeum Suga plays both power hungry and abusing corrupt Suga and rebel Suga. Its clear in Daechwita which side Suga is on, when the prostrate figures in black start headbanging with Sugas beat.... he gathers his supporters and overcomes the system.

I'm watching and it's fun to see you stunned speechless. All I could say the first time I watched it, and I've watched it several times now, is "oh holy fuck". Yeah, there are a ton of Daechwita callbacks.
Suga said somewhere recently, that his first two tracks in his mixrtapes are meant to be traps, for those that only listen to those and try to drag him. So it makes sense that he speaks the most controversial facts in the beginning and has the hardest sound in the beginning too, it definitely gets softer with each track.
I love this, Augst D is a master at story telling and raw honest lyrics. It hits harder than Daechwita imo this is more antagonistic lyrically and well the violence was a bit shocking but not unexpected. Augst D would scarily make a good crime boss.

Suga confirmed in the intro before this premiered it's a squeal to Daechwita & the 2nd in a trilogy of videos (with AMYGDALA off the new album being the 3rd coming later) & damn will it be fun when we watch all 3 back to back. I need to find my favorite from the new album but lyrically a lot in this track just hit really deep. (For the record "Burn It" is my current fav Agust D track) Sad I can't see him on tour but going to watch the doc on Disney+ & hope Disney payed to have the tour filmed in some format. (I have a feeling chances are good) RECOMENDATION: Still need to check out TXT's Devil By The Window BUT Tempest's new album just dropped & they don't get enough love so check out their new track "Dangerous"

yeah i was in shock, my brain wasn't coping. i couldn't speak too when i first watched it. it's like a movie!!!! a quentin tarantino! and i love tarantino!!!
To me this is the story i get from the video.This is the king and Agust D from Daechwita reincarnated to the present. The king is again gained power being a high ranking(likely a corrupt) police officer (as he is leaving the police station the other cops solute him.) But at the end Agust D once again out smarted the cop by laying a trap by getting the king's men to turn on him/by replacing them with his own men. It could also be that he was an undercover/rogue cop because he got a lift in a cop car in the end.

First we saw a gang leader, than a black suit man maybe representing power. A police chief/ investigator? Then the gang leader kills the black suit man, but nobody moves behind him. He has the black suits gang supporting him. Then, he changes clothes and he is half gangster and half black suit man? 😮
I hate seeing these two characters that he has created go away. Cause I want more!!!!!! I absolutely love this!!!!!

Hi. This is my take on this. The king from daechwita and Agustd got reincarnated in the present. The king still remains to be a powerful individual in the present. This can be seen when he was coming out of the police station. The police office at the door saluted to him. Agustd in the present seems to be an undercover cop. At first you would think that he's a bad guy but as the mv progresses, you will see that he laid a trap for the reincarnated king. At the end of the video, Agustd was able to defeat the reincarnated king (who is now a corrupt high ranking officer) just like what happened in daechwita. I assumed that the reincarnated king was corrupt because he got pissed when Agustd burned the money he took from the reincarnated king's people. Another proof that Agustd has the role of an undercover cop is the scene at the last part of the mv. He was in a police car but was free to get off of it to eat at a restaurant. Therefore, he is not being arrested but escorted.
As for the song, the words used were very good. I guess he was trying to say that our society is filled with hypocrisy, greed, and jealousy. People only support and believe in things that would benefit them. Our society frowns upon a lot of things (therefore the term forbidden was used). I guess Agustd is saying that it is okay to do such things as long you don't overindulge and hurt others. The real evil people are those like the reincarnated king who use their money or/and influence to benefit themselves even to the point that they are causing harm to society.
In the end Agustd killed the reincarnated king and was supported by the people in scene. I guess Agustd was implying that through his own means (maybe through his songs and good deeds) he will try to fight injustice with the help of the people who agree with his beliefs.
Well , that was how I interpreted everything, but I maybe wrong. LOL.
As for the song, I soooooo love it.
Suga said in a video when he announced the release for the album that when the music video for AMYGDALA comes out on 25th April that you should watch Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala in one sitting as I think it tells one complete story.
