    I say again-the best part of the new endgame UI is playing on old gen consoles just to see the countdown jump from 44 seconds to 38 as the game freezes and tries to shut down

    At the time removing toe stab was the good call as even my average ass could abuse to shit outta it, but after the stamina changes I think they can return it without it being op. Here's hoping for season 4 or year 7 they make some more quality of life improvements.

    Gladiator is my main. I like him cause his whole attitude is like he had a crowd watching him. His fashion is hit or miss for me. I'm pretty Glad he is isn't awful

    Honestly, the more they make this game competitive, the worse it gets. TF2 still has a competitive scene because it’s casual mechanics are amazing and well balanced(mostly) and the game is hilarious.
    It’s heartbreaking that pirate of all heroes has a hollow personality with her moveset, heroes should feel like we plucked them from their time to FH’s age, the last hero we’ve gotten with any actual personality is Warmonger, and she’s basically just Apollyon with a dominatrix fetish. Medjay just grunts at you in vaguely Egyptian, Kyoshin is an emo, Gryphon is nowhere near his sexy counterpart, and Pirate is an abomination that was purely developed for competitive and then became B tier in duels because parry flash is still a thing.

      Couldn’t have said it any better. I honestly don’t feel right paying for a character that has pretty much all reused animations. I can’t stand it. I don’t like any of them enough to buy them & it sucks cause I wanted to like Medjay badly but he looks unfinished, it’s sad.

    Lmao my mom LOVED Gladiator and we used to watch it when I was a kid. I still got that scene where that one guy gets his head chopped off and it just slow motion flies in the air and how it was a turning point for the main character

    The voiceline at 11:02 made me realise that I missed old glad so much. I got to 13th duel grandmaster purely by blood, sweat and 50/50s as gladiator, and grinded an easy 25 reps on him before his rework. He was just so fun! He became my main and that was the most fun I've ever had on For honour.
    So of course, they get rid of the fun parts. Then they get rid of Glads OTHER out of stam pressure (the funny loop) by just giving the enemy an easy way out. Such BS.

      We're too far in to wish for such things. For Honor is, if anything, in a sort of 'back burner' mode as Ubisoft isn't paying much attention to it to bring brand new and big content drops.

      I'm honestly surprised Ubisoft is still supporting For Honor's development instead of just shutting it down once and for all. It barely makes enough for them to be profitable, but for some reason, they still keep it alive. Don't get me wrong, I am happy we can still play the game, but other games developed by Ubisoft would have ended already had they been doing this poorly

    Man I played the hell out of For Honor back in the day. I always thought knights, vikings, and samurai fighting eachother was such a badass concept.
    Knights and Samurai are like east and west versions of the same thing, so thinking about how they would react to eachother is really interesting, even before For Honor existed. Vikings also are common rivals for knights in media and pop culture.
    The premise of the game was so perfect imo, and the gritty soundtrack, graphics, and tone really sold the feeling of being a warrior. The year 1 loading screens... with the "wolves among sheep" track and both teams taking stances across from eachother in the rain was sooo badass and hyped me up for matches.
    The animations were so fluid and dynamic, characters moved realistically (except wardens crush counter).
    Since then though... they brightened the graphics, none of the music is as good, and it seems like the tone of the game has entirely shifted. The wu-lin, yeah they are kinda cool, especially jiang-jun, but they are too far in the fantasy spectrum, they remind me of dynasty warriors with their over-the-top antics. They just don't fit imo. Don't even get me started on the pirate with a literal gun, which is extremely out of place in this era.
    Movesets have been rebalanced and as a side effect, many movements look very unnatural.
    Idk this is just my dumb opinion but I really feel like Ubisoft ruined a badass alternate history setting that was somewhat stretching but still believable. I remember when the most heinous offense was a shieldless, roman centurion in the late medieval era, now it seems like every new hero is in complete disregard of the setting. I never saw this game as "historic warrior mashup" but that's what it is now and that's not what sold me on the game.

    Glad should have an alternate deflect where he does the toe stab knockdown and gets a light after (10 damage toe stab, 12(?) damage light) that breaks hyper armor. It would be good because it deals direct damage which glad can’t normally get with a deflect unless he’s near a wall (not to mention the deflect bleed doesn’t stack)

    Gladiator has without a doubt been one of my favorite heroes through the time I’ve played FH. I always found his animations, weapon, and fashion some of the most unique and best of most heroes. It truly is a shame how much he’s been stepped on, despite getting some useful changes. I would most definitely love to see the toe stagger come back, but one more thing I think would be useful, would be his deflect stab being able to break through hyper armor. Granted, that could be a little busted to some, but at this point, it’s just so much hyper armor he needs to deal with.

      I agree!! Its so annoying as a recent glad main (8 reps) just getting hyperarmored heavy out of deflects and only doing 2 damage. And especially if they persist to leave reflex guard on assassins then I say deflects should break through hyper armor,l if not that then give assassins same guard as everyone else at the very damn least ubisoft

      Both Glad and Cent pins should beat HA; and no, it's not "busted" at all; Zerker and Shinobi deflects beat HA, so do the "deflects" of Valk, Conq Tiandi etc. and of course all bashes already beat HA; I really don't see the problem in 2 extremely slow UB attacks (Glad and Cent pins) and one more deflect (Glad's) beating HA. (only problematic thing is how pins reset hitstun; but that's it's own problem and should have been fixed ages ago)

    Glads my highest rep and I would like to see him have dodge recovery on toe stab especially now that everyone is about to have dodge attacks AND HIS DEFLECT NEEDS TO STOP HYPER ARMOR LIKE OROCHI AND ZERK. Your literally poking them through their stomach and they can just keep going nothing is happening. And I agree with the brining back the stun in his dodge bash because it’s extremely easy to punish even if you don’t have a dodge attack

    1. Make all the heavies in chains, and starter be those wide swipe swings to help in dominion.

      The first heavy is a direct attack i like it as a non wall hitter, reflex guard is terrible, the damage on deflect is high but it Doesn’t stack so just giving the armor break seems fine to me

    I still like playing Gladiator. I like his mix-ups and I think his deflect is something that makes people want to play fortnite again. He's probably still my favorite or second favorite assassin hero and I won't think otherwise.

    I still think his (non skewer) chain heavies should be undodgeable. They can be thrown at all of the same times in chain that toe stab can, and they already track SOME dodge attacks anyway, and have no real other use aside from just slapping people who thought you were done chaining and tried to throw an attack into your combo.
    When they first reworked him, my hopes were that all they'd do would be:
    1. Make that heavy undodgeable so toe stab can be used as a mixup against dodge attack characters without the need for glad to feint to neutral. Glad is severely lacking in ways to punish people for predictively panic dodge-attacking in his chains without halting his own offense, and this heavy doesn't really do much else as is.
    2. Change his zone to be less of a cheesy neutral chip tool and more of an actual mixup tool. Why not make it a slower bash that will track people who try to dodge too early, like BP's zone? That way he could use it to mix up his bash timings, rather than just having 2 different annoying reaction-check moves from neutral (toe stab and zone).
    3. Skewer is strong as hell off heavier hitstun (especially off sucker punch, where the opponent doesn't even have time to dodge attack if glad feints to gb) but suffers immensely when chained from light hitstun or whiffed into (no hitstun) as it can be dodged early at minimal risk, which nets the opponent a guardbreak if glad doesn't feint due to skewer's abysmal recovery times. I'd gladly trade some of its crazy damage for a weaker skewer that can be chained after or recovery cancelled.
    I do genuinely think his current rework was an overall improvement, and his improved chain flow off toe stabs and sucker punch was welcome. However, they also removed a lot of tools that I quite liked, such as:
    1. Forward dodge sucker punch could previously be buffered as early as 100 ms into a dodge, whereas now it comes out on a forced delay. This means that glad can no longer block a light, then buffer a sucker punch safely, as the opponent now has time to just interrupt it with another light. All sucker punch even does is chain into a mixup, meanwhile conq, BP, warlord, and medjay can bash 100 ms into their forward dodge for both damage AND chain pressure. Side dodge sucker punch is an excellent defensive tool, but forward dodge sucker punch needs help.
    2. Sucker punch no longer stuns. Old glad could sucker punch, feint the followup heavy, then throw a random light while his opponent was stunned, or a toe stab, or a guardbreak. It wasn't a particularly dangerous mixup, but the stun DID significantly enhance his otherwise meh neutral pressure, and let him be aggressive with moves that are painfully risky otherwise, like his jumping lights.
    3. His ability to bully stamina went from being genuinely very powerful to almost nonexistent. Sucker punch used to be genuinely dangerous despite dealing no damage and chaining into mostly worthless followups. This was because it only took 4 or 5 back to back sucker punches to put someone out of stam. As such, if a glad sucker punched, then feinted the followup heavy into another sucker punch repeatedly, the opponent badly needed to avoid eating the bashes.
    I would much rather glad have kept his stamina pressure from repeated punches and stun mixups than traded both for punch just becoming another avenue to access skewer. Currently most of his kit just revolves around getting to and using skewer, whereas before he had weaker (but still threatening) jorm-esque stam drain tools, stuns that let him use his otherwise meh blockable attacks more freely, AND skewer. He was much more limited in how he could string chains together, sure, but he had a lot more avenues of attack, and they all felt like he was really fighting dirty, whereas now he's kinda just... another unblockable character with some sort of annoying bashes, I guess. The devs thought they were enhancing his identity by improving toe stab and skewer a bunch, but those were only ever minor parts of what actually made him fun and unique, and they gutted the other parts.

    remember how glads zone used to be considered op, because even if you dodjed the pretty quick initial bash you could still get 50/50d with the feintable second half? wierd how thats like hte bread and butter of most characters now, like uh oh you dodjed correctly, time to guardbreak, oh wait that character has wiff recovery cancells guess you get punished by dodjing correctly!

    Glad main here. When they reworked him Glad become better but less unique, and this sucks. Ubi could've done much better than just deleting oos toe stab. But he still is a tone of fun to play, because the character is so cool and charismatic. I agree with rework ideas and he definitely need his bashes not to be useless (at least forward one that doesn't have anything, unlike his i-frames side one) and a deflect that breaks that stupid thing called hyper armor. And yes, his helmets do look like bugs, and i love it. :D
    If they will ever rework LB, I'm almost sure they will delete long arm. That will be terrible. I just want to long arm people and knock down them with toe stab, not all this "competitive" stuff. I just wish old FH dev team returned and made FH better as it was in seasons before Wu Lin, and the game would be more fun and more polished then earlier. But it's not possible, sadly. Why ubi, why

    Great video I love glad, just wish he was slightly better in 4's and didn't have reflex guard
    Also since you spoke so much about Roman's and Spartan's in this video, and we have Glad and Cent, ubi should really have just made them their own faction rather than adding them to the knights, we could easily have had another 2 roman heroes, or even Gryphon cosmetically just looks like a bigger Glad (not sure what the background of the character was meant to be)

    I remember coming back from my like year and a half to 2 year break from FH. Glad was one of my mains, and my pure shock in not getting the unbalance on no stam’d people was unrivaled. Literally “WAIT WTF WHAT DID THEY DO TO MY BOY”
    Still play him frequently, but it can be quite hard to keep up with the meta of having almost everything. Dodge cancels, undodgeable, unblockable, soft feints, hyper armor, and worst of all, not getting my deflects like half of the time? I remember getting a deflect and the Highlander just tanking him GETTING SKEWERED and just lighting me out of it.

    they should make the toe stab bash faster and make it so he can do it after any toe stab, make it apply a little bit of stun, and let him fast flow (ie: prior's any finisher into Bulwark slash) into other moves (other than another toe stab), it'd give his combos a lot more pressure, I'm also a glad main by the way. and maybe after a deflect instead of going into skewer, you could hit light and throw sand in the enemy's eyes, causing the stun effect for a period of time. although that last one would be unfair to all the other assassins if glad got two.

    Some nerfs: Unfeintable zone, reduced punish on oos skewer throws.
    Ups: More chain links after forward suckerpunch, light and toestab. More stamina drain and stun on forward suckerpunch. the idea being that forward suckerpunch doesn't have any more utility than the side ones, but has obviously no invun frames or defensive value at all. Side dodge suckerpunch is an amazing defensive tool already, so no need to buff it. You should have other benefits from it to make up for that, and giving it straight up damage would be boring af.
    OOS Toe stab back baby !
    Shieldbash parrycounter YEETING the opponent back and on their ass if you parry while the opponent is oos (A la Yorm). I have no idea how it could work, but it'd be cool.

    I want old Glad with all his strong move, BUT with rework toe stab + zone + dodge bush and WITHOUT all stamina nerfs. Glad deserve this. I am very sad, that ubi trying to kill stamina based gameplay, just imagine what a nightmare would be fightung against my dreamed Glad without stamina

    The only changes i would want for Glad is toe stab knock down to come back, Give glad animation cancels on dodge attacks, make it so the dodge attack has standardized IFrames like the other heroes, Give back stun on Glad's dodge bash so that "bash into skewer" is a viable mix up and finally make deflect Skewer overpower hyper armor.

    I still will never understand why they removed the toestab OOS attack wasn't implemented back. Even before it shouldnt have ever been a discussion for the devs to remove it as opposed to the stamina just coming back when unbalanced. How does removal come first to these devs than just thinking for like two seconds.

    Your rework idea at the end was basically exactly what I was thinking. I think the biggest things are the toe stab unbalance, the guaranteed deflect, and the stun on sucker punch. The nerf to toe stab so soon before the stamina rework was ridiculous, getting a deflect interrupted by a hyper armor attack feels terrible, and the stun on sucker punch would feel great to have back.
    In my recent experience playing glad, he just doesn't have enough tools to keep up with many other heroes, especially in duels. His kit has skewer, toe stab, and sucker punch, but lacks any other tools. He has no hyper armor, no undodgeable attacks, no 50/50, nothing that seems to be in almost every modern hero's kit (*cough*pirate*cough*). I think that the simple changes to his toe stab, deflect, and sucker punch would take him to a very decent place, and I would be satisfied with that, but for the gladiator to be truly "competitive" with some of the top tier heroes, he would require something more. Something like undodgeable heavy finishers would go far. Or maybe a soft feint or speed increase for his skewer. Any buffs like this would most likely be accompanied by nerfs to skewer damage, but I think it'd be better overall.

    I bought for honor just a few months before warmonger came out. And Glad was my favorite character because he felt so good to play. Yeah his skewer was bad but his bash made up for it. His bash used to pause stamina and blind people which was broken but it was fairly reactable. His bash needs to either pause stam, or stun or confirm damage or literally anything because it’s so useless that I don’t bother using him anymore

      bash is still somewhat useful because it's a relativley safe move to throw (cannot be parried, can be chained out of) but yeah, we really need at least the stun back.

    With the change to stam we have now where it refills as soon as a down player gets up. They should give glad his toestab knockdown back. Maybe even give a chain follow up where you stand the trident into their guy and get good bleed in

    Just got Glad to rep 70 about a month ago. I'm in the same boat. I love the movie Gladiator and I loved the show Spartacus. The history behind gladiators as well, very fascinating. Gladiator is the sole reason I got for honor back when he came out. I like his current kit but i also believe they should give back his toe stab knock down. Probably the big change I want to see for Glad is his skewer breaking through hyper armor and since everybody and their mom is basically getting undodgeables why not give one to Glad. The removal of reflex guard all together would be nice to see as well.

    I could just be unaware of one existing but I feel as though Glad should have an undodgable attack because a fighter like that, especially one who fought for and achieved freedom would be very wel coordinated with their weapon and accurate with their movement in a way to where this could still be accurate to its history. Just an idea though.

    You can do the punch stun on skewer on Xbox by forward guard break after landing skewer fairly consistently, it’s not like a special keybind or anything, just forward guardbreak

    It's time to bring back the OOS toe stab fall down ability. Stamina has been buffed to the high heavens and OOS pressure was a core feature of his playstyle that should make a comeback. Nowadays his punishes are so basic it doesn't even feel like the same character anymore.

    I am a PROUD rep 70 Gladiatrix, and I think Glad was incredibly strong after they sped up the light attacks, even after they removed the unbalancing toe poke.
    Give her back the unbalancing toe poke, fix the deflects so they're consistently useful (on EVERY assassin/"deflect" hero), and make her zone chain into lights and I think that'll do a lot for her.
    I'm not sure what more they could do. Change the dash attacks into heavy inputs? Lower that parry punish and make it the same as deflect input so I can do deflects on accident.

    I haven’t played a lot of glad, and I never got to experience the glory of the old toe stab, but it feels like it could be added back especially since going oos just doesn’t seem to matter anymore. What I’d REALLY love to have added back in is the disorient on the dodge/parry bash, since it feels kinda useless now, tbh. Yeah it’s a good spacing tool, and can get people to back off from you, but it has no real utility. Let me take away the bud for a bit, I mean, cmon, KENSEI gets it on every throw AND the bash? And glad doesn’t even get it on bash, much less parry bash? Ubisoft please.

    ubis biggest joke has got to be uninterruptible enhanced lights and a 2dmg deflect if the enemy has hyperarmour. Ah, yes. a dodgeattack on a hero with basically infinite hyperarmour, why not? make it possible to lightspam to force a dodge but no wait medjay has a 2 sec heavy. NICE and TOTALLY BALANCED

    reused animations is the reason why i dont main new heroes. i want my hero to feel unique, and u get way more customization with older heroes like executions and emotes while the newer heroes are very limited.

    Toe stab does not have to knock you down when you are out of stamina, it might just hitstun you for long enough for guaranteed light.
