My grandmother used to boil yellowroot--which my grandfather would harvest from the woods--and tell me to gargle with it when I had a cold or sore throat. I never realized it was such a powerful medicine. Good bless them both. I still remember how it tasted--bitter!
This plant needs to be highly respected .. it can treat with IBS and and inflamed chronic testicle issues.

My great uncle was an herbalist, many times I and other kids from our area went with him into the woods to collect goldensealwhich he always said is " good for what ails you"- meaning it is basically a cure- all!
Been growing this herb and making a personal tincture for over 25 years. It is definitely a warrior plant to be used respectfully for critical concerns. Sometimes less is more effective. Using it now to help get over covid. Very effective in drying up mucus membranes.
@Charity Lumna local herbs are the best. I'm sure there are many native plants in your area that would do the same. Do some research, ask some local herbalist.
I believe a lot in this plant. I took it once along with echinacea and cat's claw and solved a major issue on my digestive system

Andrea Rossi if by chance you see this comment 🤞 and wouldn’t mind emailing or messaging with me I would really appreciate some information on dosing and how you’re doing now, if that combination worked for you. I’ve been to 4 different doctors (GP, GI and infectious disease) got dropped by one GI and can’t be seen again by the new one. Been dealing with some serious digestive issues and have been made to question my own reality by these doctors . I have been dealing with this almost a year (since the start of COVID) and these doctors are not listening to me or even trying to help me. Thanks for the informative vid, I had to laugh though when you said consult your practitioner, as my Doctor didn’t even know Goldenseal ( or Echinacea) even existed. Till she tried to push some Anti Biotics on me for a mouth infection, then I told her that I don’t want or need them. Cos I have got near miraculous results from using Goldenseal for mouth infections before, where half my face was swollen up, and even my Jaw bone felt infected. But after only 4-5 it was completely cured
Hope it works out for me i have chronic gum infection and multiple antibiotics haven't resolved thw the problem

Oh my gosh! :-o I have one acre in Missouri that is fully wooded. We get a lot of rain but the ground dries out real well because I am on top of a volcanic spout on a hill surrounded by a natural mote. I wonder if that will grow there.

Hi there, golden seal and tumeric are different plants, but both have yellow/gold colored roots. Golden seal is Hydrastis canadensis, and grows throughout eastern North America.
