Important to note that in the Counter-Strike Major the teams make between 1-2+ mil just for qualifying, as Valve sells in game stickers and shares proceeds 50-50. So the money is much more spread out than the prize pool indicates.
There is a chance that the winning team makes less money than teams in a popular sticker capsule.

But player became more professional, they have image to protect no matter how close they are. Personal things should not be open publicly and Gabbi just straight clown, unprofessional hope he will get ban. There have been numerous times gabbi been involved with cyber bullying and valve should not tolerate this kind of thing especially to those player who still active on the scene and participating on Tier1 tournaments.

As a Filipino myself, I always had a conspiracy theory that the higher general concentration of Filipino players in a team, the worse those players will perform. Which teams from the bottom 8 should be qualified then?
BB lost to both Aurora and G2xIG which would be their competitors for the last spots in a round robin.
Shopify lost to Boom and Aurora, same thing there.
Secret faced all three teams that went 3-2, they won one and lost two. I don't think it's unfair to not qualify when you can't beat the majority of the other teams that are fighting for those final spots.
Nouns are the only ones that actually have a case as they only had one chance to beat the mid table teams unlike all of the other ones.

the reason most people hated gabbi is the persona he shows in his stream, like taunting people, trashtalking, revealing secrets which can be seen in his stream and he calls it "content". thats why most people are on team abed on this one and a lot of people is saying he had it coming, or its just a matter of time. the one with abed is supposedly true and a secret to him and abed because they were friends. and maybe thats why revealing one of his secrets made abed furious with gabbi even though he said it only as a joke

I mean, while I agree with SVG that obviously the top heavy teams focus on their own interests --- I think it is interesting that he doesn't note that it is the exact same for bottom teams constantly underperforming, wanting their mediocrity to be rewarded and able to sustain them.
Like do you know what happens to the underperforming League player on his contract? He doesn't get a contract renewed, and unlike dota, he isn't just able to go find new tournaments. He is barred from playing, since its locked to their franchising system.
What happens to the underperforming NBA player? They take a salary cut...or they are entirely out of the league and go to China to be a ticket/shirt selling machine until they cannot keep it up anymore.
I agree that everyone SHOULD get paid. But I still think that there is no value in trying to claim that the bottom players cries for money, is more valid than the top performing teams.

    • @NotASummoner
      @NotASummoner Před měsícem +1

That's not true though? In League you can play in lower leagues if you're not signed for one of the teams in the top league. There's 4 major regions to look at: EU, NA, CN and KR.
EU has a ton of regional leagues with somewhere around 585 players in the top regional leagues. A lot of the regional leagues also have lower leagues but I think those are mainly for promotions to the top ones. It's a lot like the football format.
NA is the weakest major region with the smallest playerbase, they only have one lower league + national college tournaments as far as I'm aware.
CN have the largest top league with like 100 players and a lower league with another 100. Idk how much else there is but that's definitely the most all or nothing region as they have the largest playerbase as well.
KR have a similar playerbase to EU. It's got the top league with about 50 players, a lower league with another 50 and an academy league which consists of tournaments that are mainly for scouting players to the 8 teams in their 40 player league. KR does have a bunch of players in minor regions (Brazil, EU regional, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan etc.) though which is where the non-signed players go.
Price pools are low as always so it's hard to tell how much they earn, we're talking about a game where the average salary was 410k USD in a league with a 200k USD pricepool here. However, quite a lot of players have played for like 6-7 years in lower leagues as their job so it has to be enough to live off of. Especially the larger ones like the French regional league with 45k average viewers, 158k peak which qualifies into the 60k average 280k peak tournament between the top teams of the EU regionals.

How can you differentiate between a last place team that tried and one that simply didnt give a shit? Winning at least one series in the playoffs before you are in the money is how valve has usually done this at many majors and people are giving them shit for it. Giving someone "price money" that didn't win any game sounds wrong to me. If you want to compensate them for showing up then that is fine just call it something else.
