In the 60'2 and 70's, actually all along through the decades there were one hit wonders. Albums were released, holding the hit song on the 2nd or 3rd place. Usually, the rest of the album was either so so or just not worth listening to, hence singles. (Talking about Vinyl here especially). Now, along comes Birdy, with every single song on every single album a masterpiece. Just magnificence. While I'm on the subject, how she manages to keep her timing with piano and singing in real time is beyond my limited understanding. The amount of hours Birdy must put in.
I agree with you on the quality of Birdy’s songs / albums. But there were many, many brilliant albums in the 60s and 70s. I’d probably refer to the new millenium when it comes to poor quality of music. I guess the quality is still there, but it’s harder to find because mainstream music (the stuff that gets publicity, promotion and airplay) is mostly trash.
