As a Bayern fan I always though it sucked what happened to Renato at Bayern, as a club we were going through a rough patch ourselves though, not having coaches who really fit Bayern. I know for a fact under Flick he would've worked in his system he is so press resistant. Has a hell of a long shot to so probably would've been a better version of what Sabitzer is for Leipzig under Nagelsmann. Clearly would've earned a spot for himself. Especially after Thiago leaving, Kimmich might have never been moved back into the midfield w Renato here. I wish him luck though, great player that we missed out on.

No one buys players based on international tournaments since 2010. Every young player in Europe playing in any first division is closely monitored by every major club. You think managers and agents and clubs only become aware of the existence of a certain player at the same time as you by watching the tournaments?! Only in amateur clubs. Renato Sanches signed his contract with Bayern Munich in May 2016, one month before the Euro 2016 started.
And why are they interested........because of an international tournament

The first situation doesn't happen anymore as everyone knows everyone.
The second does happen, but it is not solely based on the tournament but on his entire journey in the last years.
