How good was Didier Drogba actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most best and most clutch players we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Didier Drogba who played for Le Mans, Guingamp, Chelsea, Marseille and Galatasaray for most of his career. - Sport
He isn't just an Ivorian legend he is an African legend on and off the pitch.
100% right

Football legend
This man made me a Chelsea fan for years...
Didier Drogba is simply my favorite football icon of all times.
I still believe that he was bigger than people make him out to be...
history will underrate his legacy
Yes, he was
I was a United fan at the time of the CL final against Bayern, damn near changed my allegiance, magic stuff
Tears well up in my eyes anytime I think about what he was/is and always will be to Chelsea
@@PathFind13 LOL. He did that to me.
I can never forget DROGBAAAAA during Chelsea vs Bayern in Champions League Final.
For me he is much better than Ronaldo Nazario de Lima. Ronaldo had a miserable 24 goal contributions in 40 Champions League matches, Drogba had 65 in 102. Not to mention Drogba was prolific in the Premier League whereas Ronaldo was hiding in Serie A.
The was no hope but he won the corner told the fans to get up and sing then head the ball so hard that Neuer who was regarded as the best shot stopper at that time couldn't do anything about that header🙆🏿♂️🙆🏿♂️I'll never forget that night
@@USMNTsoccerELITE Ronaldo was hiding in the Serie A back when it was the strongest league in the world and still managed to perform very well. I am also a big Drogba fan but Ronaldo is levels above him. I can tell that you don't like Ronaldo too much as you've been posting numerous comments against him. Ronaldo is regarded by managers, ex managers, footballers, ex footballers as well as fans as one of the greatest of all time. Everyone has their own opinion though lol
@@USMNTsoccerELITE bro, stfu
@@USMNTsoccerELITE LMFAO I liked Drogba a lot he was definitely one of the best strikers at that time, but comparing him to Ronaldo, you gotta be kidding me. Watch his spell and goals at Barca in 96 season then comeback and comment again.
I was in middle school when Drogba got his UCL title with Chelsea. At one time on rainy day after school, me and my friends were having fun and since we all love Drogba, we were trying to imitate Drogba's celebrations on wet floor. But alas, one of my friend slipped and the back of his head hit the floor. A week after bunch of surgery, he's no longer with us. We are young and reckless, very sad yet memorable things we've learned ever since. Rest in peace my friend.
In every major final Drogba be like - I am inevitable

he may not be the best striker to ever be...but he got a special place in my heart...I know Arsenal fans said Henry is better, Vardy and so on and so forth...stats wise..Drogba doesnt seems to be all that great...but when you watch him play you will understand how he moves his team forward..allowing lampard to drift in, making sure Kalou, malouda crosses were always get him..strong, motivated, fast...what else I can say about this guy..he may not be your legend but he's my legend..
Nice way to put it. To me he’s the greatest striker ever. There was nothing he couldn’t do.
Just his mentality could massively help a squad, it's a players most underrated attribute in my opinion
@@niltash4ever great striker urs. But in terms of ‘ever’? Have you compared to R9, Romario, Van Basten, and CR7?
As much as I idolized Drogba when I grew up unfortunately I have to honest, he was better than most strikers but not Henry. I'm a Bayern fan and I'll always remember that 2012 Munich final.
I am an Arsenal fan, I adored Didier coz he was the Striker for the Biggest games!!
One of my all time best Strikers 🔥🙌🏽🦁👑
This Ivorian football legend is a unique African player who created peace in his homeland for his people!
One of my fav player ever. That goal against Bayern in 2012 + the winning penalty. Legendary
Coming from a Phoenix Rising fan, I am blessed and thankful to say that Didier Drogba played for us. Mad respect 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

🐐 Chelsea’s greatest ever striker. What a king 👑
Hope Lukaku changes that
Werner >> Drogba
Well that's right
Wtf are u saying about lukaku and Werner is the best.. it make me laugh hard bruhhhh
Agreed. I don’t like Chelsea but drogba and anelka are my favorite Chelsea strikers
Absolute beast. Prolific and top goal scorer all season. Shows up in the biggest games against biggest teams. Can’t ask for more. Legend
I don't care about Ronaldo, Messi or even Ronaldinho or Zindane or Pele or Maradona. This guy was my and will always be my favourite player of all time. He made me have this burning passion for Chelsea and he was the icon I always looked for whenever we was in trouble. I will always cherish the memories he gave me as a Chelsea fan.
He wasn't just a player, he was a legend not just for Ivory Coast but the whole of Africa and he is up there as one of the peace ambassadors ever. I as a Nigerian do love this guy as if he was my brother.

Thanks man, that means a lot
Too bad his "facts" are wrong
As a United fan, I use to hate Drogba…. It’s hard not to respect a player like him though. His story makes me respect him even more. Great video….
Thanks man!
during 2008/2009 season Chelsea had 5 international captains Terry england, Drogba Ivory Coast, Ballack Germany, Cech Czech Republic, Carvalho Portugal
I'm sure Essien captained the Black Stars at some point but can't be sure of the year though.
Nope Appiah was captain during Essiens era
I am a Manchester united fan but I bow down to the class of Drogba!!! Such a lethal and decisive player
DROGBA was the only big match striker the world has ever seen . He scored in every big major finals he played! He got a Pace, speed, power, strength, determination, and he was feared by many defenders in Europe!
Real Fact ✊
Mate your videos are amazing.
As a chelsea fan this video brought a tear to my eye.
Didier Drogba was the man for the big occasion and boy did he deliver.
I was at Munich in 2012 and when he scored that penalty my brother and I cried tears of joy and adulation.
My only regret is that my late father wasn't there to see it.
Thank you Didier for everything.
That's beautiful man!
So sorry about your dad...
I regret not watching him live.
It would have been a beauty.
Amazing player, elite mentality, fighter and a true patriot. I'm sure Mourinho wishes he could find players with his sort of passion nowadays. Top Video, well done!👏🏽
That clutch goal in the finals as far as i can remember against Bayern Munich..was something out of the world..and whenever i see or hear his name..this goal always resonates in my mind❤️
as a liverpool fan i can say D Drogba in mourihno,s chelsea team was on his day unplayable 😳,a great ⚽️ scorer without doubt,a man for the big occasion! and his charitable work over the years is just Fantastic and shows you he was a humble solid man and human being at heart 👍
That's what Mourinho Saw in Drogba.
And payed off big time for both and Chelsea.
He is a legend on and off the field....

As an arsenal fan I hated this guy too much to be honest it was scary when he was playing against us.
Years gone and I have matured now in my 30s I have to say, big respect for Drogba. He was a real warrior the soul of a ruthless one on the pitch.
I’m from Afghanistan 🇦🇫, & I can understand where all the ruthless came from and why ? I wish to meet him for once and tell him all of that in front of him.
I just cried!
Long Live King Drogba 👑
one of the greatest clutch players ever ,when the Drog was on it he was irresistible. as a man utd fan I had plenty of reasons to hate him but as a football fan what's not to love ,he was undoubtedly a player I would have loved to see play for my team.
I remember when I was a defender back in secondary school and I rarely scored for my class in matches. When I did, you can be sure I did the Drogba celebration. Till this day, I'm still called Drogba when I see my classmates
Awesome!
I will never forget Didier Drogba. I started supporting Chelsea in the days of Denise Wise but I loved Chelsea up to now because of Didier Drogba. I felt so much pain in the final of UCL in 2008 and the semifinals of 2009 against Barcelona. I hate barca since that year... but fortunately Drogba won UCL in 2012 and I feel so happy for him
The birth of Leo Messi....
Refree was shit for both teams tho.. its just Chelsea being a smaller club you people still cry over it!
Celtic Fan here...
I only ever watched Chelsea CL & PL games just to see Drogba play... the guy was an absolute BEAST and brought more to the Chelsea team than just goals. His overall play was impressive due to his awesome power and pace!!
Didier Drogba is the MAN who entice me to Love FOOTBALL ⚽️: Wishing him LONG LIFE 🙏
When it comes to great players from Africa it's always Drogba . He performed in big stages for his club and country and he had a big hand to stop civil war in ivory coast. One of the greatest players to play in the premier league.
Drogba has a special respect from Egyptians as he has a friendly rivalry against Egyptian GK Essam El-Hadary. He scored three times in five games against Hadary but in the 2006 AFCON final Hadary saved two penalties, and again in the semi-final of the same competition two years later.
I really feel like Drogba can score more but only decides to score when the pressure is on
He was a system player, mourinho needed him to play a role and drogba played the role to perfection
@@akosasuke5128 you know ball
He was most of time going in energy saving mode on pitch. Which allowed him to score goals in last minutes.

Not everything you see on CZcams is factual. If you do some research you'll find he was sold for over 3.3mil at the age of 25 when the video sates he wasn't even worth 1mil at 26 lol

Gosh!!!! He is tear jerker!!! What a national hero
What fueled him in finals was probably his first failed attempt, something about strikers and the external factors that motivate them :).
As a Liverpool fan, there was a period of time I was genuinely scared by the idea of my team playing against Drogba.

As a Manchester United fan I couldn't stand Dogba when he was at Chelsea - but always had a begrudging respect for him as a top player. Drogba was truly unplayable on his day, a real powerhouse, a defender's nightmare. I wasn't aware of the unifying effect he had on the Ivory Coast, that's really impressive.
thanks man. feels really good hearing that
@@DailyDoseOfFootballYT I hope one day you'll make a video about Claudio Paul Caniggia. Also a legend from the late 80s early 90s and a very colourful character.
Man United fan.. there is no other footballer who struck fear into me like this man. What a player.
He deserved his move to Chelsea and Chelsea were lucky to have him.
We signed Cisse the same year Drogba went to Chelsea. We also brought in Rafa the same year Jose and Drogba came in at Chelsea but I'll give Rafa a pass because it was a pre arranged deal from the year before. But Cisse was WAYYY! more hyped than Drogba. Like not even close. He was supposed to be the new Henry and outscored Drogba in the French league that year. To be fair Cisse got a CL medal that first year but comparing them both is laughable in hindsight.
Cisse also had that double leg break against Blackburn which messed him up big time but yeah he didn’t live up to the hype surrounding him when he came to us
Drogba had spiritual powers. You would only know after he score you
Lol
Almost made me cry :x
