  • In this video I go over I how I replaced the axle bearing on my new Strange Engineering Ford 9 inch rear end. The Ford 9 rear end only had less than 500 miles on it when the axle bearing failed. It appears to be a defective axle bearing. Replacing the Ford 9 inch axle bearing was not the easiest thing to do but you can see how I did it and what worked the best. You will need a hydraulic press or access to a press to push the axle bearing in.

Tim it was definitely a Pita. I had about 7 hours in it from start to finish. Thank you very much for watching!

@@MikesGarageRoute66 WOW 7 hrs that is brutal. That is as bad as me taking just about a whole month of replacing my whole front end on my truck. Tie rods, sway bar, ball joints, everything. Was my first time doing it myself so it definitely was a learning experience

@@timwindsor03 I am sure your truck turned out exceptionally well. That’s a big job too Tim.

@@TurlosGarage Actually I was impressed with myself. And put it back in line with a string. Alignment shop was impressed how I got it perfectly back in Alignment. Yes it was a huge job

Wow I didn’t even realize until now that this was a Strange rear end, haven’t heard of many of those failing without serious abuse. I can say I’ve had to do this before on a 4x4, it’s fun not having a hydraulic press😆

Very true and the crazy thing is the bearing went bad with less than 500 miles. Thanks for watching Yellow Hammer!

Im only at 450 and 460 torque. It should be good now and hopefully I won’t have to do this again. It was a Pita. Thanks for watching Anthony!
