For flat 2d clips, "Extract" effect on the clip and then raising the black point just does immediately the job. Thank you man!
This is amazing. I've run into problems all the time passing files using UnMult to other people, even the free version. Always wanted a native AE way to do it, but their preset constantly gives me bad results. Great breakdown, explanations and general exploration of the topic. Great work!!!
been searching for a whole day, Thanks!
it helped me so muuuuch ive been looking for a method foreverrrr thank uuu
Thank you so much for this, I am working with clear spheres and bubbles, Now they look fantastic finally!
thank you man I have just stated getting into AFX you helped me a lot, I'll make sure to check out the rest of your videos
Congratulations, you have solved a big doubt that I haven't been able to figure out how to do for two days. Great !!!
This saved me dude! I spent a lot of time creating flare effects for an animation in blender, just to render it with transparency and realize that it won't render the flares with an alpha. So rendering with black and removing with your process, then layering it on a version without flares was the way to go. Thank you!
I don't use Blender but I think bloom etc are always Post FX, they are not calculated during render. The optical part of the postFX is an additive process and it has no alpha concept. The subtract comping workflow is the way to go. You have to render a beauty with the postfx baked in and an extra beauty without postfx…
then in comp you just subtract one from the other and you end up with just the postfx...
@@voorntube this is the way
Amazing! Very, very helpful, thanks.
Very straight to the point!!! LOVE THIS......
that works! thanks a mil! I experimented with shift channels plus remove color matting, but channel combiner plus remove color matting is the best!
thank you man this is the best tutorial on this matter i've ever seen on youtube
This just saved countless hours of my life, thank you.
Duuuuuuuuude. This is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing!
Insane tutorial, thank you so much!🙏🔥
Maybe this also can helps. Apply on layer Linear Color Key(choose black color) + Remove Color Matting + Levels
That helped a lot thank you!
This was excellent. Thank you.
Legend. I've been looking for this for ages
Hope you find it useful :)
Good job!!! Saved me a lot of time
It is really one of the best ways🔥🔥🔥better than using Luma key
SO HELPFUL!! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
What would be the best way to remove the black background from moving Blending flares?
Great, this works. Was done in 3min, not even finished video.
this is a very helpful video, would just say maybe having a more interesting background image would make the results of each operation more obvious
last one worked for me thanks
Great video, so helpful!
Appreciate the support!
Thank you. Thank you again.
Thanks man you saved my day
It would be really nice to show HOW to FINISH and export - this way the final desired product is obtained.
channel combiner is amazing!
Another great video. A more solid color than gray, like green, could have made the differences look much better. Still, great stuff and very informative.
Good point indeed, I should've done a bright green or something to see any color fringing more clearly. Thanks for the suggestion!
after all also you can add drop shadow and it will make more visible.
Thank You
Beautiful video
im using win11 i have a rendering issue. when rendering i still get a black background .i want to upload to square space as a vfx on my page, no luck do you have any rendering single transparent image into mov file?
tips
Thanks man
Thank you for awesome tip
Appreciate it!

How to export png sequence with transparant background
After Effects has it's own built in unmult preset
Yeah except that one uses Shift Channels + RCM, which doesn't work well in some cases.
unmult is sooo good
2:20 - extract tool removes black areas
Thank you
Thanks for the support!
nice
use linear color key , select black color and boom, its that simple
The only problem is that the Channel Combiner ignores masks
Did not know this, very good point!
💖
Thanks for the love!
