1st calf kick Alex landed took Jiri off his feet. After 2, Jiri already looked compromised. The 3rd and 4th both buckled Jiri's leg. Alex's calf kicks are a problem 🥶

Lyoto kept catching Jones cuz he was timing Jone's kicks. This was how Lyoto got caught because after Jone's realize what was happening, he faked a kick to lure Lyoto to counter to throw a counter of his own. This was also ages ago. You cant use that against Jones.
His coaches realized. He went back to the corner they said either fake the leg kick and jab or takedown. And he went out, did exactly that, and caught him.
Edit: actually it was time your kicks better or or fake the kick and throw the punch. If Jon didn’t have his coach telling him that, he may have caught his first real L that night. He was afraid of lyoto too. Said he felt like the young lion still learning, and while other fighters were simply brawlers, lyoto felt like a grandmaster who was a technician at fighting.

There's multiple angles to UFC when it comes to matchmaking. But I'd agree w you only cause I'm a purist too. I think fun match ups should be rare enough and only if it makes sense.

6-9 months is to short because so many things could go wrong. Injuries, turned fights down ect. 12-14 months is more fair imo

If he could get Khamzat that far I'd say the same but I think it's much more likely Khamzat makes easy work of Sean in round 1 tbh.

Its just kind of hypocritical considering he really only got a title shot because he can sell pay per views. He lost back to back fights and then won back to to back fights against guys who aren't in the top ten, and never won a fight against a top 5 guy leading up to the title fight. I do think Khamsat needs to fight a top 5 guy still to get a title fight, but Sean wouldn't have gotten a title fight under his own logic too.
