    Man, I remember watching these on VHS nonstop when I was a kid! I had all the tapes (and I still do), but my favorite by far was *Bigfoot Strikes Again!* Watched it so much I wore the VCR out, but the tape still plays to this day _30 years later!_

    Fasttrax was so beautiful, so much more aerodynamic then the other tracked trucks of the time.

    • @nathanmcdonald610
      @nathanmcdonald610 Před 5 lety +2

      They didn't really go fast enough for aerodynamics to come in to play though, the thing that really made the Fastraxx such a rocket was its twin supercharged Ford 460ci V8's.

    The OG trucks looked so much better than the baja crap they use today

      That's a fair statement, but I personally think that the stuff they use nowadays is a lot cleaner, and just more slick of a design.

    I find it so interesting not just in the truck technology but the safety changes that have come. Look at all the people on the floor. Just a few steps away from the trucks as they are racing. Now days the floor has to be completely cleared before they can even move a truck. Either people were smarter back then or we were maybe a little dumber.

    would be cool being able to go to a monster truck rally like this again. having trucks with true frames under them instead of the ones now that are just a frame with skins attached (meaning true trucks) and being able to see a tank truck racing again. i think a lot of people would attend just for the nostalgia.

    Wow, nice watching old vids of Willie Townes, Virginia Beach Beast, tracked Chevy Blazer shredding. I remember back in the 80’s, when local boys, Willie Townes and Dennis Anderson built their first monster trucks. Willie, building his Chevy Blazer on a M3A1 Stuart tank chassis. Dennis did his Ford Sedan Delivery, using a cut down duce and a half truck frame w/4x4 axles, and Good-Year Terra tires. Both ran blown, big block Chevys.

      Bigfoot #7 was among the fastest monster trucks of this era, it used a big 540ci Ford V8. There we're a few that could keep up with #7 at that time, but not many.

    Monster trucks in their prime, monster jam was all about huge jumps and stunting. It’s not motocross lol. This was when trucks were still built for getting a bit of air but when they landed it was all about car pressing.

    I remember growing up watching Bigfoot as a kid and now with the evolution of what monster truck can do is seen on monster jam, the bar is set so ridiculously high now that Bigfoot kind of just got left In the past, kind of glad they havent signed on to monster jam because it would be embarrassing Bigfoot does shows where they hit a set of 3 cars barely even catch air and think that's still a show.. it's sad and unfortunate that Biggfooot wasn't along for the ride and progression from day 1

      I wish the sport we're more like it was back in the 80s and 90s. I don't care for Monster Jam's format of freestyle until the truck is a crumbling hunk of junk and legit racing is secondary. Should be the other way around with more respect for the equipment, Even though it has cost them some exposure over the years I am glad that Bigfoot never sold out and stayed true to themselves.
