80's Monsters and Mud Boggers - Bigfoot Record Setting Jump (56 feet)

- Way before Dan Runte was setting records jumping Bigfoot, there was Jim Kramer. This was I believe a record setting jump of 10 cars (~56 feet). Kramer later broke this record and jumped 70 feet with Bigfoot. Enjoy!
Bigfoot 4x4x4 is the property of Bob and Marilyn Chandler. All other trucks are the properties of their respective owners past and present. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
For some strange reason it was always very gratifying to me to see the windows and the windshield blowout of the cars when the trucks landed on top of them. Of course it was cool so they took it away. Somebody probably cut their finger on a piece of glass and now you don't get to see glass explode everywhere.
The first pass over the undamaged cars was the most gratifying
This reminds me as a 80's kid watching commercials hearing the guy say "SUNDAY,SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!!!!"
Me & my friends called all monster trucks "Bigfoot" in Japan. Moved to the States in '87, and the American kids corrected me, but the Bigfoot is still the most notable monster truck to me. :)
When I was little I did the same thing. But I also lived 2 blocks from the old shop. Bigfoot will always be king!
My mom still says, "let's go watch the Bigfoots"
😂
Yea bigfoot the king of the monster truck
WOW, the Quality is pretty clear and amazing for footage (VHS) from the 1980's!!
These were real monster trucks. Hanging out the window. Seeing this live when I was 10 was THE coolest shit around.
I loved this era too but all the drivers destroyed their spines and necks and brains in a few short years driving these beauties. They had almost no suspension and had to have their necks in a bad position to see out.
Today they can see the floor and they have 30 inches of suspension travel instead of 6 inches and they are strapped i to the seats with their spine and neck fully protected.
painted steel looks so shiny. love the bedbars and the additional lights
Gotta love dude sticking his head out the window as he does this. I miss these monster trucks, they were still kinda trucks instead of shells.
Jim kramer
Factory Ford production body on top of the custom built, straight rail frame
My husband and I and our two little girls always looked forward to going to see the monster trucks every summer. I’ve got loads of pictures to show for it. Ahh the memories!!
When I was a kid, I only knew bigfoot, and growing up I knew monsters trucks, but bigfoot was still a legend in my life
Yes sir, you are correct. Bob Chandler did indeed create the very first monster truck. In my opinion, Monster Jam would not be the way it is now without Grave Digger.
BigFoot was the first Monster truck to get Famous. But The Beast was before bigfoot. And The Beast is what pressured Bob to keep building Big Foot. Both trucks are from Hazelwood, Mo.
@@Motleymick is that the same Beast that became famous with the school bus body style monster truck?
The reason Bigfoot isn't in Monster Jam is because Bob Chandler didn't want to sell out. When I learned that all the trucks including the legend Dennis Anderson sold I lost a little respect. I get it financially but still it's the principal
Bigfoot > Monster Jam
the tailgate weighs as much as the entire fiberglass body of today's "trucks"
I know I think that real truck bodies should be required
Used to watch the monster trucks on TV every Sunday morning it seemed like....and WWF/WCW wrestling.......and truck pulls and I remember watching the bull riders all on cable tv as a kid in the 80's:-).
Weekends were so much cooler in the 80's
U had cable???? Spoiled brat... lol ... did u have the deluxe package with 12 channels?
Had rabbit ears at my house 👍
This is when monster trucks was cool
Amen.
Not really
I bet you think your mullet is still cool.
My first time seeing Big Foot was 1978 at the world of wheels show in Chicago. Bob let me walk under the truck I've been a fan ever since!
You right too much show now.
It's amazing how much has changed since the beginning
The last of the real steel trucks, not the garage fiberglass sh%t of today
Well today's trucks from a far angle, they look like their body is like metal foil or something wrapped around a Cage. Not like the 80's they were more strong and stayed intact on impacts
its proven to be safer with new trucks and cars. You're smoking crack you dumb fuck!@@w0lf667
Yup fiberglass toys all day long. And screw the safety excuse.
I’d love to see one of those old pos truck do the shit these truck do today.. they had to change gears to become safe.
Timmy Thurman
Talk about no knowledge. These things are far from POS’s.
This truck looks so much better then the modern monster trucks of today
I know its not impressive by today's standards but damn thats still impressive.
Freaking hangin' out the winda' crazy s.o.b
Majority of the drivers did this, it was the only way they could see where they are placing their tires on the cars.
@@dc1925 and a couple went into the stands. I miss 80s monster truck racing.
Best Bigfoot drivers of all time..... Jim Kramer, Andy Brass, Dan Runte.
All of the dislikes never rode in a leafer Monster Truck like Jim Kamer did.
Now we can’t see dislikes
Wow!! Head hanging out the window. Jumping a leaf spring monster truck!! This was too cool!! Things have come a long way now they are jumping over 200 feet and doing backflips!!
I miss the Bigfoot truck
It still exists, but I think its in a musem now
@@dumdum7786 actually its owned by the creator of the truck and still gets driven today 😂 basically all OG bigfoots are for display and events
gorgeous truck
Wow the first bigfoot footage I've seen that isn't blurry. LOL.
I wouldnt trade growing up then for anything. Racing and even this was so much cooler
Did you see those brake lights come on at the end of the run?? Real Steel trucks!!
Bob always made sure the brake lights and the back up alarm worked.
How many gallons of tire shine did they use?
Havnt times changed, tuff old beast but they are doing double backflips now.
Go Bigfoot!!!
God Bless America!!!
Bigfoot, one of my fave trucks.

What? that was 56 ft? Amazing how things change.
That explains the RC trucks these are fun to watch someday the monster truck expos will be back.
Pretty Cool!!! Love Bigfoot!!!
Old school monster trucks are still the best to watch. Today's trucks are amazing with the stuff they can pull off but imo nothing compares to the old stuff. Plus I think Bob Chandler's awesome for not selling out to monster jam 😎👍. But this is just my opinion so no one get butt hurt over it,lol
No neck brace and safety seat. He had his head and arm out the window!
excuse me skippy but there are no mud boggers in this video !
Still waiting for the mud!
Back in the good days. They are a freak show now.
Bigfoot the king of all monster trucks
Amazing how far it progressed from here.
What they do now is totally bonkers
Best big foot for me 1984 this truck I love it.
That’s a great Monster Truck!
Jim kramer + bigfoot = success
Monster trucks came a long way since then
Bigfoot always setting the bar. Long live the king!
Awesome! Not even one scratch.😁
Imagine the technological advancements that goes into the monster trucks here in 2019 vs back in the 80s. Now they jump 40+ feet in the air with a distance over 237ft (world record, 2013) , double back flips, moon walk on 2 wheels, front flips, helicopter spins in mid air, etc.
I used to drive a monster early 80’s THE ENFORCER. Went against BOB CHANDLER in Indianapolis in 84 & beat him in a obstacle course. Bob wasn’t driving the trucks very much at that point BUT he DID the day I BEAT HIM!🤣😂🤣he & his wife Marilyn were very nice folks. My wife & I joined them for dinner that night. Lotta fun back then.
drew brutal DAMN DREW, 84 Silverado square body light blue rims,468 Chevy big block. Said enforcer with a arm holding a gun on side of truck. ONLY thing the truck was DARK BLUE. Could have been mistaken for black though. WOW dude, if it was me that’s cool🤣👍👍👍we were in 4x4 magazine a couple of times
drew brutal also, the truck had police lights on the roof.
Amazing how far monster truck have come since then
This real monster truck heavy steel
Real cryin shame to watch all those classic cars getting squished! Man I can’t imagine getting any air in a truck like that let alone that far lol
This was classic monster trucks at its best!!!! The fiberglass bodies took a jump like this they just fall apart. I miss the classic monster trucks!
Everybody is scared to run against Bigfoot He's the best monster truck of all time
Awesome!
what show ushra show was this and what year??
0:32 damn 63 impala crush
That is still a good looking truck
Back when monster trucks, were actual trucks.
Thinking of Ace Ventura: Ah, he wants to go offroad. XD
Nobody has a clue what it took to do this back then.
Ikr, the nuts on Kramer
my childhoooood
3:32 the jump
Bud goes from sponsoring Monster truck events to drag-queen events...in a mere 36 years
Look at those hand formed wheel arches.
More safety in the roll cage...bob chandlers way of making sure Jim Kramer survives any future roll overs LOL.
Not just Jim but other Bigfoot drivers and other monster trucks
Anyone know the announcers name? Not the deep sounding voice guy, but the high pitched guy? I remember he was the announcer for most of those shows back then. I wonder what he's doing now days?
His name is mike Galloway he is now retired and enjoys spending time with his family and grand kids
What does K.C. Mean on the truck?
KC was a popular brand of lights back then. They had covers to protect the lights with the KC logo on them.
Would love to have any one of the cars he crushed restored today
a true legend
What is that carb setup? It's not a 12-pack is it?
YouGotsTheRabies it's a triple predator carb set up. Legit as hell and had some crazy set up for making big power
Those triple preds are legit. Although the big reason for them on the truck was to keep it fed with fuel at weird angles. Carbs usually dont like being at constant beyond level degrees
Don't forget the blower and nitrous plate
I met Jim kramer...lol Hes cool
People must not understand how much replacing steel panels would cost monster truck are still cool
Cool. Truck
i want to go back
I cant believe he doesn't have a window net. I guess it is the beginning of the sport.
Gotta say that it was mighty brave doing this back then, before they had the harnesses and roll cages they have today. Head and arm hanging out the window like ace ventura...
thats a very short jump compared to today,,,,,, love big foot
That was a good jump😂😂😂 clears 4 cars!
Back when monster truck drivers destroyed their spines and necks in every event..
Wasn't he supposed to jump over ALL the cars or what have I missed???
And just bought the RC version of Bigfoot, so much fun!!
Sweet
@Carz1100 I met him too. Really nice guy.
love classic monsters truck better the newer monsters truck
Was that #4?
Why would they measure from the front tires ? In this case, longer wheel base means more of an advantage..
Bigfoot 6 ✌🏻🇺🇸
Love Bigfoot since I was a kid but now seeing him roll over the 73 Dodge dart ouch !!!!!
1986 BIGFOOT BOSS all the way home
who jumps with there head out the window?
They did that to see where they are going
Back when trucks still had the proper number of doors
Year 2021, 12000 lbs of steel of yesterday vs 1500 lbs of plastic today.
If they only knew how far how big monster trucks would become
Who else is watching in quaratine
Rip that impala ):
Old school monster truck
When monster trucks used Real Truck Bodies
This was the 83 Bigfoot I think but it looks cool and so did the last Bigfoot model before the truck was retired and the drivers stopped driving Bigfoot
You dont know your Bigfoot history very well do you?
Bigfoot's not retired man.Same guy still owns it and they have alot of drivers...just because a truck doesn't do Monster Jam doesn't mean they don't exist.
+the gamerzone This appears to be Bigfoot #6 which was based off of a 1987 Ford F-350 model...So no this is not the ''83'' Bigfoot. The Bigfoot's that fall under that body style of Ford pickup are #2 #3 and #4 for the first few years of its life. And Bigfoot's not retired, it still races today...As a matter of the fact, the very driver in this clip (Jim Kramer) is still very much an active participant with Team Bigfoot.
Could you imagine how that crowd would have reacted if he would have done a back flip and rode on the 2 front tires like they do now😂😂😂 i still think they were cooler back then
AND old school with head out the window!!!
Let’s go big foot
