Unbelievable amount of knowledge on all these machines! I feel your channel is going to explode soon. Great content
Thank you for your kind words. Just know that I learn new things on almost every build.
I just found your channel, and ended up doing a marathon of binge watching your videos. Great stuff.
I appreciate you more than you know! Thank you.
Haha..same here. Extremely helpful videos. Where do you get your manuals?
Thank you. I search around the net to find the best price for digital manuals on each machine.
Hands-down, the best diagnostic work I’ve ever seen on CZcams!!!
I would really like to see you do more diagnostic and fix work on new regeneration fuel injection, motocross, bike, or quad. I bet you get a ton of views!!
Great job on all the builds
Thank you so much for your kind words. I generally pick up what’s available to me at a decent price near my area so unfortunately, I don’t get to pick and choose to often.
Thanks for taking the time to share your expert knowledge with the world it is very much appreciated 👍
…and you watching and commenting is very much appreciated here as well. Thank you.
Whole lesson on these 150rs. Great stuff. Thanks a lot sir.
Thank you for your feedback and for watching.
What a great video! I actually stumbled upon your channel back on your previous 150 build video and at the time I was rebuilding my own 150 that had blow up, because of exactly what you said, the famous spun cam. It dropped a valve and the crank snapped. I rebuilt it and its running great to this day. I actually touched up the frame also but with a duplicolor honda-grey that matched up perfectly with the original paint. Keep uploading these videos man you really are teaching us a lot. Your the man.
Awesome. So glad I could help. Thank you for your feedback and support
“Just starting to go out” 6 inches of play. Nope they are long gone. 😂
"And by machine shop,...." I knew something hilarious was coming!
Haha, thanks for your support.
Quality work! Glad I found your channel.
Thank you. I’m glad you found it too!
Fantastic refresh on the 150r!! Just a heads up that there are 2 versions of this bike, a small wheel and big wheel (150rb). On the small wheel version the fork tubes are meant to stick a few inches out of the top of the triple clamp and the rb is supposed to be flush. There are a few other differences like swingarm length, and obviously rim size between the two. These bikes are seriously peppy and fun!
Thanks for your comment. This is the R (small wheel). I didn’t know that about the forks. Appreciate the heads up!
Another great video!!! So much valuable information here!!! Thanks for doing this!!!
Thank you. Appreciate your continued support
She’s a beauty, Clark…
Wife looking to upgrade to a race bike? Haha
@@restoroosterohv Nooo sir, the crf125 is plenty for her for now.

Glad to hear you got your bike together. Aftermarket companies don’t generally carry plastics for those so good luck. As always, I appreciate you watching and your comments.
Great video
Thank you for your feedback and support
My boys and I love watching the channel!!!! So where do you post your project once finsihed and/or how does someone acquire a bike of yours once completed? Thanks in advance!
I appreciate you and your boys watching. Generally I’ll throw them back up on the Facespace Marketplace for the next person to enjoy.
Question let’s just say hypothetically speaking, u do run the bike w/the old cam that’s slights off by literally a smidgen but the bike still runs if u finesse the timing! What’s the worst it can do to the cylinder head & valve train?! 🤔
I’m not sure if you are referring to a spun cam gear or just being off a tooth. If it’s off just a little bit it’s going to be more of a performance issue generally won’t cause any damage to the piston or the valves. If you find that you cannot line the timing marks up, look for a stretched timing chain, and that will be crucial to replace.
@@restoroosterohv my apologies I was referring to the spun gear on the cam…
@TopOfThaMotorMs I certainly would not ignore that because it could slip further in which case you would have piston to valve contact and potentially destroy your cylinder head
@@restoroosterohv & that’s wat I thought i just needed a 2nd opinion sumbodies I actually trust… Thanx & appreciate it my guy! 💯🫡
@TopOfThaMotorMs you’re welcome. Good luck with your build.
My 04’ kx250f has excessive oil pressure and is spitting out the crankcase vent, when I give throttle it dies. Any ideas to push me in the right direction when tearing it apart?
First off, what is your oil level like? These bikes will spit excess oil out the vent if overfilled. There are a lot of reasons a bike may stall when applying throttle but I would start with a complete carb rebuild including mid body gaskets. I have a video on FCR carb rebuilds.

need help, Honda crf 150 rb 2007
why is my coolant sitting on top of my piston
does it mean I need to buy another 1 or should I torque it to spec?
need help
Coolant getting into the combustion chamber is more than likely a failed head gasket. There are other possibilities like a damaged or warped head. You should pull the head off and check its mating surface according to the manual. If it’s good, replace the gasket and torque the head properly.
@@restoroosterohv okay thanks for the information, I've just receive my cylinder head. I purchased originally hem valves "stainless steel" should I lap them? or should I just insure them and go?
I would absolutely recommend lapping them. It will help seat the valve and also show you where the valve face is meeting the seat
@@restoroosterohv okay. I lapped the valves … torque the bolts on cylinder head 10,15,23ft … I have spark and compression… gas is going through the carburetor… still no sign on start up … is there any way we can do a call or anything?
@wankkebtv I don’t give out my personal number, sorry. We can communicate through email restoroosterohv@gmail.com. Is your camshaft timing and valve clearances correct?
