I’m interested to know what will happen in the event of bird strike to the blades. Will this be tested/simulated in flight tests? I can imagine birds will be curious enough to get close without feeling like they are in danger.

Yeah, it's also how complicated aerospace and Aviation is, there has to be a long process of certification and tests. Aviation is one of those super strict industries so maybe that's what's going on.
