Yeah I was looking forward to the Jolly Roger flag myself I wanted the pirate flag because it’s historical I was wondering why they don’t have it it doesn’t make sense I was really excited
The likely reason you could still move with engine damage is your captain. One of the American captains has a perk to let you still maneuver even with engine damage. I think its Arleigh Buhrke. Not a glitch.
I know Arleigh Burke has the duct tape skill (or whatever its called, quick fix?), but I don't have Arleigh Burke. That's why I think its probably bugged.
I believe its value will be multiplied when CVs arrive because of its AA armament however the 1 torpedo launcher really makes it limited when engaging other DDs of a similar type. Granted it's guns are very powerful and along with a commander like Burke along with Halsey and Gurin its AP rounds can do some major damage to larger ships while maintaining respectable HE damage on DDs with impressive firing rate. I really do enjoy the Kidd as it plays now but pairing a couple of these with a carrier will really unlock another hidden dimension of its capabilities.
You're right (though I kind of think Gurin/Halsey is a bit of a trap, it would have helped me a little here). I won't lie, I have found myself moving toward spotter aircraft to try to limit the enemy vision some of my more thoughtful moments. The thing just chews up aircraft, and it's AA has better range than it's sea detectability... so it's not even that risky.
Seems like a decent destroyer, nice job. Again the pricing for these packs are bad, I'm just enjoying the free aspect of WoW now. Looking forward to the German battleships!
Well, we do know that the Scharnhorst is appearing sometime this month. My guess is we'll be lucky if she's only this expensive considering how many people want her, but we can always hope they cut us a break. It kind of sounds like we have at least 42 days until they do the same "Early Access" thing for the actual battleship line though, which is "nicht so gut."
Happy 4th of July Tactic! Looking at the Kidd, the stars and stripes camo is listed separate from the ship. Can this permanent camo be used on any ship?
Thanks, Jody, happy 4th to you too. As for the camo, if you buy it for the Kidd, it can only be used with the Kidd. You can also buy it for the Arizona, but that would be only for the Arizona. Pretty pricey.
An awesome ship for when carriers come out, but for now its not that good because of the torpedos. I wish they would have chosen a different ship and waited with the kidd when carriers are added to the game whenever that is. Waiting for a nice premium destroyer, this one is not it for now.
Do you have the Kamikaze? I hesitated getting it but I'm glad I did. The fast torpedo reload makes it fun . I also have my highest damage game in it. It's good
Yeah, I'll pass. Even if/when CV's are introduced, this thing will struggle at the AA role as well. What would make it attractive, is replacing the repair with radar or hydroacoustics (since Fletcher class DD's had both anyway). By the way, what's up with radar being able to see through islands?
I think you're onto something, but I also think its probably a bug based on the legendary commander skill. I do have 1 point on Halsey, but "Unstoppable" says "at highest mastery level, gain reduced mobility with disabled engine," and I'm not at highest level.

Yeah, if you ever have to worry about aircraft carriers at Tier 4, the Texas is absurdly powerful against them.
