The exorbitant price on so many things is pretty much out of control & these companies are loving it, & it sure seems like there's no going back for them & we're all stuck with these excessively high prices going forward. That is called supply and demand in a capitalist economy. What is a president supposed to do about the price of tomatoes? Plant a garden. Can food. Dehydrate food stuffs. Buy in bulk and portion it. There are LOTS of things you can do for yourself to reduce the food costs.

I just don't understand when people say they can't afford food that has a job. My wife and I receive SS around the 4k mark a month, and we have no issues. Sure things are high but we budget. We make a monthly grocery list and go off off that. We have a mortgage as well. Cell bill, electric bill, gas bill, water bill, insurance ECT . Car is paid off. Plus we we save a few hundred a month. We just don't eat steak every night. You have to learn to budget and cut a few corners.
James many working people don't make that much, plus the costs to get to work. But have you ever considered living outside of usa? Lots of places where you'd end up saving 2k a month and eat the steak (not if you move to Ecuador tho apparently steak here is bad)
